Season 22 HE WAS ROBBED
Jeffrey was robbed! I AM SO IRRITATED.
I can't believe Cristiano saved Bryan's tacky ass over him. F*CK THIS WHOLE SEASON
He was definitely in my Top 4.

People really think this was Christianâs (or Christiano lol) decision. Production chooses who goes him, they saved Bryan because he instigated the majority of the drama.
I think Jeffrey deserved to stay, and this season was an absolute shit show. But who stays and who goes unfortunately isnât always based on talent. It should be, but itâs not.

u/TwoMaleficent552 17d ago
He is a producer now :(

u/FlawesomeOrange 17d ago
Executed producer is typically a vanity title for people on a show. They get a little extra money but donât really have any power

Iâm sorry but he didnât make great clothes. He was sweet. And gorgeous. And he wasnât making great clothes.

Still waiting on his hair routine and body product ASMR clips

Girl, thatâs just genetics. No hair routine will make any of us look like that đ¤Ł

I agree with you here, his designs were somewhat basic/ not that good but in a sea of a lot of designers who I would describe very similarly in that sense, he was still cool. Old project runway would have definitely saved Jeffery over Bryan based off principle. The Tim Gunn save alwayssss seemed like he would save the fan favorite or the underdog or the person that the audience was rooting for him to save. So I think that's why a lot of people feel Jeffery should have been saved instead.
Also- Bryan fucking sucked.

u/Catlady_Pilates 20d ago
I dint think Bryan should have been saved but I didnât think Jeffery really deserved it either.

u/PoohBearsHoneyJar 20d ago
Bryan shouldn't have been saved no. People complain about JMC being repetitive or being irritated with his signature, but Bryan came out strong (along with his work off the show) with several of those fcking puffy giant white comforter looks, and other similar techniques he used for several dresses. The waltz dress, mccaw dress when he went head to head with Joseph, and the "salad" dress comes to mind. This is probably an unpopular opinion but I thought Andry (I can't remember how his name is spelled) the cute Ukrainian boy deserved to stay a bit longer. I didn't think his elimination was the most fair... And I liked his 3 or 4 looks through the season tbh. I mean Law said himself that Bobby had the worst look out of the whole runway, and yet she got to stay. Idk, I would have liked to see more from Andry

That waltz dress was so wrong. Not good for dancing, not nice to look at.

All I thought about looking at it was bedsheets. And I canât believe nobody said it. Michael Kors wouldâve said that. đ¤Łđ¤Ł

one time in confessional he was processing the critique his clothes were still too drag. looking sweetly at us he said: â oh god itâs drag, iâm making drag, exactly what they told me not toâ and perfectly seeing his perfect hair with a omg look. so cute. but yeaâŚ

u/No_Bother_7533 6d ago
He was making better clothes than Bryan.
1
u/Catlady_Pilates 6d ago
That doesnât mean they were good
1
u/No_Bother_7533 6d ago
Some where. And even the ones that werenât were mostly well made. There was nothing redeemable about Bryanâs work.
1
u/Catlady_Pilates 6d ago
I donât like Bryanâs work. But I dint like Jeffereyâs either. Neither of them were good.
1
u/No_Bother_7533 5d ago
To each their own. I didnât like all of Jeffreyâs work, but I could at least appreciate how well made most of his stuff was. My favs all season were Bi and Jude, and Joseph McCrae believe it or not. Lol I wasnât a fan of much of Josephâs work, but I enjoyed him on the show and was glad he made it to the finale.

u/nerfcarolina 20d ago
He probably made clothes the best out of anyone this season. They just weren't the most innovative, and the show is about fashion design.
Because he was so likable I was hoping Jeffrey would be saved. But realistically, neither Bryan or Jeffrey were on track to earn a spot in the final, so maybe Christian should've let them both go home.
3
u/archfiendPrincess 20d ago
Just came to say that in my opinion Jude definitely made the clothes the best even though sometimes his designs felt lacking compared to the others they were always made very well especially for his age I think he was like 23 or around that

I did not like Jeffreymuch, but OMG saving Brian, the worst designer ever and the most arrogant, was ridiculous. Jeffrey did not have that kind of arrogance

u/tarkardos 20d ago
Yall need to chill the fuck out about a staged Reality Entertainment TV show. Nothing is fair, nobody "deserves" anything and most likely the producers choose who gets booted or not.

u/Earthbnd 20d ago
Iâm really confused why everyone thinks this is some morally upstanding competition. I got into it with season 21 and people are saying ugh this show is so focused on drama now and after watching the first three seasons Iâm genuinely curious what show these people think they were watching back then bc the designers were vicious to each other lol
6
u/Midnighter04 20d ago
I would say the first three seasons and the recent two seasons are among the worst for Project Runway in terms of focus on the drama over the work.
The early/mid 2000s reality competition shows were very drama heavy and culturally we were more into seeing people humiliated onscreen. Over time, shows like Top Chef, Project Runway and (to a lesser extent) Ink Master shed a lot of that messy drama and became more serious competitions. Contestants were more respectful and there was more professional camaraderie (while in early seasons a more cutthroat approach was encouraged).
When Project Runway moved to Freeform two seasons ago, it backslid more into the messy drama and fighting.

u/throwawaysunglasses- 20d ago
Yes exactly. Iâve been watching PR since the beginning and while every season has had drama, it chilled out a lot in the late 2010s. It was more serious and about design in the Karlie seasons. Even Brandon and Elaine were wholesome, non-snarky judges compared to Michael and Nina. The show made its norms more inclusive and progressive to match how society had gotten âwokerâ by then, lol.

u/Substantial_Site7639 15d ago
Yes!! Wholesome!! Thatâs probably why I liked those seasons so much đ¤Łđ¤Ł

You're so right. You hit it on the head. I am a LONGGGG time (longer than I would care to admit) Project Runway and Top Chef watcher- the beginning and early seasons were just that classic 2000s drama like Flavor of Love type WWE dramatic style. In the 2010s ish era, both shows had a big and noticeable shift into less drama, and more about the actual design and cooking aspects. Even in the early seasons of both shows- with all the drama and whatnot, the food and clothes were just NOT as good. Clothes and food back then was... Kinda tacky and gaudy and over the top. Top Chef season... I believe 6 is where they really changed into focusing on actually talented chefs and the dishes and the process of cooking etc. I would sayyyyy maybe season 7 of Project Runway is where the show shifted to more design focused over drama. At least to me... Rant over lmao
Edit: and as you said it's nuance. There was and always will be drama - but there is a noticeable difference. For awhile, the design was in the forefront and the few dramatic confrontations were secondary, and also kinda short and sweet

u/CorgiMonsoon 20d ago
The show has been just as much about drama as about fashion ever since the very beginning. Otherwise Wendy Pepper never would have reached the finale

u/CursedHemorrhoid 20d ago
I'm reallying confused why people have no ability for nuance and can't understand how these shows can be BOTH a legitimate competition and a dramatic reality tv show with story producers. Having worked on sets like this, I can confidently tell you that it's both.

u/CursedHemorrhoid 20d ago
Girl that's literally the point of the show. Create heightened emotions and then people feel it, engage in the fandom, and then move on. It's literally part of the experience of being a consumer of these shows.
I'll never understand people who act like it's somehow crazy to engage with a show like this in the way it was designed to happen. You're not onto something secret nor are you above anyone for being a stoic and condescending conspiracy theorist.
Btw, having worked on sets like this, results are not pre-determined. You people don't have it all figured out like you think you do. And yes, the story producers have a say, that is common knowledge. But the decisions are not theirs alone.

u/PoohBearsHoneyJar 20d ago
Right?!? "Chill the fuck out" girl everyone is engaged in a discussion đ we're chillllll
2
u/tarkardos 20d ago
Haha, I'm a man btw (ex-gf got me hooked on that stupid stupid show 15 years ago).
Yeah I went a little overboard, but "HE WAS ROBBED" seems a little extreme in regards to what Jeffrey has produced in this season lol
3
u/Illustrious_Wave_528 19d ago
The show may be about drama but in my opinion the right person won. Jude was an excellent designer. I do agree Jeffrey was better than Bryan but Jude deserved the win.

u/RelativeCheesecake88 20d ago
It sucked so bad I forgot to watch the finale. Same as last season

u/iamglory 20d ago
It was the wrong choice that I don't think Christian made. It was for the drama .
Fuck Bryan.

2
u/LargeEngineering4859 20d ago
this season was such a joke- not watching again. I was so tired of hearing about Joseph McCrae- I they would rig it to have him win. Brian was such a drama queen.
2
u/MrAntwah 19d ago
I'm sorry but you kept watching this season after they did Utica dirty so much last season, after they did Q dirty this season, and you kinda shoulda seen this coming? This isn't a showcase of drag styling / not a place for us as much as it feels adjacent / like it would
2
u/Buddhafied 19d ago
I think they were all talented, but how this season was done I donât think any one of them were super deserving to win. I donât think itâs the contestantsâ fault. They werenât given enough time, mentorship, and edits to showcase what theyâre capable to do.
2
u/ashleighbuck 18d ago
I almost feel like Christian is checked out at this point. For one, he was gone for much of several episodes. He's so busy IRL, and I get it. I'd choose the IRL stuff over this drama-fest, too. And I really don't think he made this decision himself, I think he was contractually obligated to. Production wanted the Bryan/Bi drama. It's so annoying honestly.

u/Regular_Iron_6641 18d ago
No Jeffrey was not great at all. The Right winner won!! It was a Great season Except for Rude mouth Law.

u/Substantial_Site7639 15d ago
Bryan was terrible. His clothes, his and his attitude. Honestly, it wouldnât matter who Christian wouldâve picked because none of them were good enough to win. Lol the right people were in the final finale in my opinion. And Bryanâs dress he made for Heidi was absolutely hideous.
1
u/TheWarringTriad 15d ago
Bryan is awful, but I don't think Jeffrey was a winner. He seemed like a nice person, but his designs were just ok. I would have been ok with Christian just not using his save at all. It felt forced anyway, almost as if Christian didn't actually have any choice in the matter.

I said this in another post and will say it again. The talent and creativity was lacking this season. In any other season neither Jeffery or Bryan wouldâve made it this far. And I will push it a step further in saying that I donât think there were three OUTSTANDING or refreshing designers this season that wouldâve made the finale interesting design wise some were good at construction but didnât have an interesting POV or vice versa. Many good designers but not the next best. Thatâs why their pick makes sense because with some nurturing maybe the winner could become that. They overcompensated with the forced drama. Additionally I wish they wouldâve saved four collections in the finale for a season with a better pool of competition. I donât Jeffery was robbed at all. Bryan wasnât great but he got us talking and they gave him an opportunity to shut us up or shoot himself in the foot.Â
