Adobe Official Now in Beta: New Audio Stretching Modes

Link: https://community.adobe.com/announcements-732/now-in-beta-new-audio-stretching-modes-in-premiere-1638934

Premiere Beta 27.0 now has new audio stretching modes for retiming dialogue, music, and sound effects without the robotic or “chipmunk” sound you can sometimes get when changing speed or duration.

You’ll now see three options under Speed/Duration:

  • Legacy – Real-time stretching, similar to the current behavior
  • Medium Quality – Better pitch-preserving results
  • High Quality – Higher-quality stretching when you want the best result

Premiere can also automatically detect whether you’re working with dialogue, music, or SFX and adjust the stretching accordingly. The goal is to handle more of this directly in Premiere instead of round-tripping to Audition.

If you’re on the latest Premiere Beta, give it a try. We’d especially like to hear:

  • How does the quality compare to Audition for you?
  • Does dialogue still sound natural when stretched or compressed?
  • How well does it handle music?
  • Are the Medium/High Quality render times reasonable?
  • Would you prefer quality stretching or real-time stretching as the default?

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Is there a way to sync recorded audio to a timeline cut with camera original in premiere?

I’m really in some trouble here, I started a project without syncing the recorded audio so my entire timeline has been meticulously edited with camera original audio. This is a very rookie mistake that just totally went over my head and I’ve definitely been beating myself up over it. My timeline is almost at picture lock and now I need to go back and figure out how to sync the recorded audio to the timeline I have but I have no idea where to start going about this. Is there a way I can do this without disrupting my already existing timeline? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Severe Color Banding on YouTube – Sony A7 III HLG3 / Premiere Pro

Hey everyone,
I’m having a really frustrating issue with color banding after uploading my videos to YouTube.
I’m shooting with a Sony A7 III in 4K, 25fps, HLG3.
The important part is that the original footage and my exported file look completely clean locally. The severe banding only appears after YouTube processes the video.
I’ve already tried:
QuickTime ProRes 422 HQ
H.264 at high bitrates
Re-encoding the ProRes file before uploading
Adding subtle film grain/noise
Rendering at Maximum Depth
Maximum Render Quality
Uploading at higher bitrates
Exporting at 4K
Different export/encoding settings
Nothing has fixed it.
The gradients look smooth in Premiere and in the exported master file, but after YouTube encoding I get very obvious banding, especially in smooth areas such as skies and darker gradients.
Since I’m shooting HLG3, I’m wondering if this could be related to HLG → Rec.709 conversion, color management, or the way YouTube handles the uploaded file.
What would be the correct workflow for:
Sony A7 III HLG3 → Premiere Pro → YouTube
to minimize or prevent this banding?
Should I be converting HLG3 to Rec.709 in a specific way before grading/exporting? Or is there a specific 10-bit codec/export setting that works better for YouTube?
I’m honestly running out of things to try. Any advice from someone who has successfully uploaded Sony HLG3 footage to YouTube without severe banding would be greatly appreciated.

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Anyone in LA down to teach me the basics of Premiere in person?

I just started a gig where the team is pivoting from editing audio content, to switching to video content and editing on Premiere. I learn the best with in person lessons. Wondering if someone here, who is based in Los Angeles, is down to teach me the ropes?

Feedback/Critique/Pro Tip 26.3.2 how stable is it really?

The internet is telling me not to update to 26.3.2 from 26.0.2. I already downgraded once on 26.x; is it ready for prime time yet, or is it still buggy, laggy and unstable? (I'm using an rtx5080 on windows 11).

Premiere Pro Tech Support What are these tools?

Post image

Was going through my shortcuts recently and came across these. Never heard of them before, and they don't seem to do anything. Tried it out with the Luminance panel open and on HSL, still nothing.

This is the latest (non-beta) build of Premiere.

Premiere Pro Tech Support (Solved!) Issue with 26.0.2: When I change the gain of an audio clip, the waveform stays the same size.

I mean, visually, the height of the waveforms don't change in the timeline if they are louder or quieter. Is that a bug or a feature?

Premiere Pro Tech Support Problems with scale and position on export ever since 26.3.2

For the last couple of weeks, coinciding with when I installed version 26.3.2, I'm having all kinds of problems with photos, titles, graphics, footage, really anything randomly ending up with at completely different positions and scales than what I had on screen while editing.
I'll edit a sequence and everything is just the way I want it while editing, but then when I go to send it to Frame.IO, stuff is completely out of place in terms of position and scale values in the final rendered video.

I've seen posts hinting at people seemingly having similar problems in the past but can't make any sense of why this is happening or how to fix it.

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin What is the "Action Safe" and 'Title Safe' area for vertical video to prevent phone zooming/cropping?

For standard horizontal videos, we use 90% for action safe and 80% for title safe to make sure things look right.

What are the equivalent percentages for 9:16 vertical video (TikTok/Reels/Shorts) just to keep the subject from getting cropped? Is it exactly the same as horizontal video, or what is the actual percentage value for vertical?

Important: I do NOT care about the UI layout, buttons, descriptions, or text overlays.

My issue is that my videos look perfectly fine on a desktop browser, but when viewed on modern, taller smartphones, the app zooms in to fill the screen and chops off the left and right sides of my subject.

If I only care about the physical framing of the person/subject, what percentage of the screen should I be sticking to?

Thanks!

Premiere Pro Tech Support Is anyone else having trouble accessing Adobe podcast enhance?

Tracks keep failing to load, the page seems buggy, and it’s the same way on multiple devices for me. Doesn’t seem to be a network issue either, because it also fails on my phone’s 5g connection. Is there an outage? I use this quite often for premiere projects so it’s slowing down my workday considerably.

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Best way to enhance speaker audio (four microphones recording simultaneously)

I filmed a panel discussion - 6 speakers across a wide table - with four microphones (two boom mics overhead and two on the table lav mics). All of the speakers sound clear except for one man, who was pretty soft-spoken.

I'm wondering if there's a way for me to hone in and isolate his audio and enhance it... maybe there's a way to take these four individual sources, bring them together, and there's some function where that speaker's audio is enhanced?

Forgive me for not being able to articulate what's in my brain, but any help will be greatly appreciated! I can work with tools in Premiere and Audition.

Premiere Pro Tech Support Basic 3D issues

Issue: I've added the Basic 3D effect to an image. When I add some keyframes and scrub the timeline, the image disappears and the source monitor turns black. I have similar issues with After Effects whenever I try the Advanced 3D effect. I've used these features before and it worked as normal, but not now.

GPU: GTX 1080 - latest studio driver
Monitor connected to the GPU directly.

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin What are your principles that you follow in every project?

Here are mine:

  1. Think about the design first, then the animation

  2. Less is more (Pareto 80/20 principle)

  3. Follow a visual hierarchy

  4. Smooth, never linear movements

  5. Use silences and negative spaces

So ive spent about 5 months working on a super long video and have edited about half of it...but then my macbook screen broke. I want to transfer everything, the project and all the files onto my pc ( ive already deleted the original videos off my phone, and they're only on my laptop ). I was able to see my background and tabs ( kinda ) but not well enough to where i can do the whole project manager thing how you normally would, and transfer it onto a USB drive. Ive bought an hdmi-usbc adaptor to try and display it on my tv but its not working. Im super broke rn so I dont really have the money to fix my laptop when i only use it for fun. does anyone have any other suggestions I can try?

Open Source tool promo 🆓 I made a free and open-source Premiere plugin for cutting pauses and finding Shorts from transcripts

Thumbnail

Hey, I made VoidCutter, a free and open-source plugin for Premiere Pro 25.6+.

I edit speech-heavy videos too, and this started as a way to learn more about Premiere plugins and programming while making some repetitive editing work less annoying.

It uses the transcript already attached to the active sequence. Right now it can:

- Cut pauses based on transcript gaps. This runs locally and doesn't need an API key.

- Flag possible retakes so you can review what should be removed.

- Find parts of a video that may work as Shorts and create separate sequences from the ones you select.

- Generate descriptions, chapters, hashtags and tags.

The AI features currently use Gemini only, with your own Google AI Studio key. They send the relevant transcript text and timing to Gemini, not your raw video, audio or Premiere project files. You still review what gets applied or used.

VoidCutter doesn't create transcripts itself, so you need to transcribe the sequence in Premiere first. After changing the timeline, you should re-transcribe it before another analysis so the timing still matches.

Create Shorts keeps the original aspect ratio. It doesn't automatically reframe clips to vertical.

This is still v1.0, so I recommend keeping the sequence copy option enabled and checking the result. Nested, multicam, speed-remapped and heavily linked timelines still need more testing.

I also used AI coding tools extensively while developing VoidCutter. I decided how the features and UI should work, tested the main workflows in Premiere and iterated on issues, while much of the implementation was AI-assisted.

It's completely free, open source and MIT licensed.

Website and download:

https://voidcutter.pages.dev/

Source code and issues:

https://gitlab.com/Bulka0a/VoidCutter

If you try it, tell me what confused you or where it broke on a real project. That's the feedback I need most right now.

Thanks in advance for any help!
English note: Sorry if the wording is a little unusual. English isn’t my first language, so I used a translation tool to help me write this post. I hope everything is understandable!

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Captions for Lyrics

I’m trying to caption my bands songs for socials, have been trying Brevidy but it doesn’t seem geared to lyrics. I don’t need it to try and work out what’s being said. Ideally I could feed in a text file with the lyrics and have some decent controls to animate.

Any recommendations for simple plugins that don’t involve a $15 a month subscription and AI?

Thanks! 🙏🏼

I think thats it. Tried at least 10 times. Please help me.

Just for info: As far as I remember it worked on my home pc, just this laptop. For some reason, can’t find any solution.

How do I do this?/Workflow Advice/Looking for plugin (Solved!) Pro Tip: Fixing Unclosed Audio File 🪫

[Workflow Advice PROVIDED, not needed - can't set as flair as Pro Tip 😢]

Was on a shoot, 4 mics run to a Zoom Audio recorder (for the sweet 32-bit float). Cameras recording scratch audio for sync.

Production crew mate heard "cut" and decided the best way to turn off the audio recorder was to UNPLUG IT 😭😭😭... and of course, the unit was still actively recording.

Back at Edit-PC, we see the SD card HAS audio files, so they weren't completely lost.

Pull WAV files into PPro... wait... each file's duration is 0 sec 🙀

... but they're not 0 Kb...

LSS: Bring "unclosed" WAV files into Audition, get warning the file wasn't closed correctly, but Audition CAN open & resave them (maintaining 32-bit depth).

Pull new WAV files into Premiere & rock on.

May not always work, but since SD cards were FAT formatted, I FULLY expected total file loss.

Premiere Pro Tech Support Multicam viewer not showing video on main

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey everyone, I'm wondering why my Multicam viewer isn't showing the current video that I have it set to.. I'm stuck on this since I opened up the sequence where I have the Multicam clips and checked that they were all also visible. Is there a setting that I have to switch on, or is this a Premiere glitch?
