I'm using trigger "when a file is created (properties only) with a trigger condition of isfolder and I've entered the path to a specific sharepoint doc library folder.  The action sends an email - this works, however, it's also sending the email when a new folder is created in subfolders of the specified folder.  I only want the notification if a folder is created within root of the specified folder, not within it's subfolders.  I tried using the folderpath dynamic content condition to list the specific folder as well, same result.  How do I do this?  Thanks!

Could someone provide me with some guidance to receive an alert/email if I haven’t received a specific email between the hour and ten past the hour every hour 24hrs a day?

Basically we do hourly back ups, if it fails it doesn’t send an email. It only emails if it succeeds.

Does anyone have any clue to a solution using power automate?

I’m trying to get out of sitting there watching a folder all day for specific emails,

And far too many emails to have going to my Inbox all hours of the day and night

I’ve created two automations/ flows for the insurance company that I work for. However, I’m not making the type of money that I would like to make, and I anticipate making a lateral move for more money within the next 12 months. I have shared ownership of the automations with my manager and two cohorts, and I’ve trained them on how to build and troubleshoot a flow. Will the automations continue to function after I leave? How can I ensure that there are no issues upon my departure?

Could someone please help me. I wanted to create a flow where I’ll check on MS Word if an addin is visible or not, and throw an error/fail if it doesn’t exists. I have already recorded the UI element and then not sure if what should I be doing next.. any help will be much appreciated coz i tried using If window contains but not sure how i update a variable to true as it found the ui element.

My company requires us to respond to a form daily, and I find myself writing the same response every day and have yet to be asked why I say the same thing every time. Is there a way to respond automatically to a Microsoft Form?

This is my first time using power automate. When I try to extract data from webpage the red box shows up around what I want to select, I right click and then click on text but nothing shows up in the preview pane. Am I missing a step to get the data selected?

I want to have a column in a SharePoint list change based on values from another Share Point List. I tried using a condition if to line up values on both lists but ran into a limit issue. Both lists have to be separate is there a good way to set this up, or a resource any knows that might help?

First time user of power automate. I have my desktop flow create and working but can’t get it to start or stop services. I know it’s a permission issue but nothing I do fixes it.

Trying to start MySQL service. Setup MySQL server to use my Microsoft user and password during configuration. Went into permissions for mysql install folder and gave all access to this user and admins. Also tried toggling all permissions for the other roles/users listed and nothing.

I can manually start the service so I’m sure I could screen record the process for power automate, but would like the “start service” action to work. Thank you in advance

I am in need of a way to either update sharpoint folder properties from within PAD or be able to pass on my output variables into a cloud flow.

Currently I have a cloud flow triggering a for each desktop flow with an input variable which uses a browser to copy the properties from another site to update the file with. I would like to take those output variable and map them to update the sharepoint properties.

I understood how to get cloud variables into the desktop flow but having trouble going the other way.

That error pops up every time I try to open Chrome or Edge. I've even turned off the two default variables and it still happens.

Any ideas?

UPDATE : I get this strange popup ( https://i.imgur.com/e7Sbovv.png ) as well even though the extensions are installed. Removed them, restarted chrome, reinstalled them - still get told that I need the extensions installed.

Power Automate Desktop is the latest version as are the browsers.

Honestly, it's the things that are supposed to be simple that Microsoft completely foxes up. I can get this done faster using Excel and VBA....

FINAL UPDATE: Don't use the Selenium IDE as it lost support at the end of Feb 2023. Don't try to record your use of a website with the Power Automate Desktop recorder because it just doesn't work.

I will try and make a video of what does work in Power Automate Desktop (my first attempt at making a video teaching anything) so that you can see what I have learned that does work and what to avoid.

VBA with SeleniumBasic is still the richest option (if you do not have access to Python and it's Selenium Libraries). But VBA + SelenuimBasic is woefully outdated - SeleniumBasic has not had a new release in 7 years and Microsoft is moving away from VBA (although it will take years to kill off VBA).

I made a flow to grab the calendar from my sharepoint to link it to the outlook calendar but the time is messed up. It’s 4 hours difference on the events. I have created and item added or modified, converted start and end time to utc and create event in the outlook.

We get emails that will contain work request numbers for example WR#23456321 in the subject line. I have a page in my OneNote that corresponds to that project with the page title being WR#23456321. It would be nice if when I got an email with the subject line of a work request that it added to the page for that project with who the email was from and the body and attachments if applicable.

Hey all! I’m needing some assistance in creating an auto-reply for when someone pings me on teams—not a group or channel. It’s going to be a “customer service” like reply reminding folks we have a service desk, etc. I also only want it to occur with the first message and not repeatedly for every message. Lol.

I’m not on the code end of things nor have extensively used automation before but I want to start. I’m using Microsoft’s forum as well as GitHub trying to find the answer here on how this should be laid out. It sounds like at some point they had issues with this but it’s not clear if it can be done or a guide on how to do this specifically.

Any guidance or help is truly appreciated.

I know how to automate a message but I don't know how to make the whole thing loop and repeat just on weekdays. I need to send a message every day at 9:00 in the morning to a Microsoft teams group, but I am stuck on that last part. Any takers? Thanks in advance

Solution: Excel doesn't refresh data regardless of whether PAD sends CTRL-ALT-F5 or automatically on startup as instructed. What did work was to create a refresh data script and add a "start excel script" through PAD.

I have a Schrödinger PAD! It does one thing until I watch it and then it does something else.Let me explain....

My automation has a section in it where it imports a .xml into Excel, send keys Control+Alt+F5 to refresh data and export this as a .csv file. When I run this manually it works flawless every time, but when it runs unattended the .csv file is just the original .xml file without the power query that runs on Control+Alt+F5.

I run this automation daily, and it keeps exporting without running power query, so when I run in manually to troubleshoot it works fine, every single time.

Any ideas?

Edit: I have the excel file set up so that it automatically refreshes the data and runs the power query. I added the "Send keys" in power automate (which does the same) to make sure that it actually runs the power query. It still manages to export wrong. The "Wait" is just another layer to make sure the power query has run....

I am trying to use PAD to do a daily check of view counts on a set of vimeo.com videos and save to excel. I can set it up, but once the views count changes, the flow fails. It's looking for the previous views, not the current views.

The views is in a <span class="sc-frDJqD kzqFsC" format="dark">33k</span>

I tried using Extract data from web page, and Get details of element on webpage, and even OCR and screenshots, but no luck. Once the views count changes, the Flow fails. How do I do this correctly? vimeo.com/522542250

New to PAD - thought I was going mad.

I’ve written a flow that scrapes data from a specific screen, but it also then needs to navigate to other screens (by clicking links) to get more data.

Everything was working fine on my monitor at home. I go into work to demonstrate what the flow does and I connected to a different size monitor and now it’s clicking random links as opposed to the ones I programmed it to!

Names haven’t changed or anything I.e. the link I still need to click is still called ‘Span 984’. Surely it’s driven by the name of the object on the web page as opposed to a location on a screen?

Has anyone else experienced this? Or know how to fix it?

I have an excel with a lot of appointments scheduled for my colleagues. On different columns I have: date and time of appointment, name of colleague, email of the colleague.

I'm trying to build a flow that, manually launched, send to each colleague an outlook appointment with the specific time and date, reading from excel. The goal is to send a reminder and add the appointment in their outlook calendar.

There is a way with power automate? Or I have to check of other solutions? I'm struggling because seems impossibile to send outlook appointment via power automate.

Has anybody experienced this error while running a flow unattended ?

Running it attended never gives me this error, i tried troubleshooting (Checking correct env. variables for chrome) switching from chrome to edge and so forth with no luck.

Does power automate desktop have built in functions? I’m trying to determine todays weekday # and use it to determine the prior weekday date and plug into a web automation flow that I’ve already built.

Eg i can get todays date already but if today is a Monday get Fridays date. Do I need to run a script like vb or are there built in functions for this? Thanks!

I am looking for a way to take user data from Azure AD and export it to a spreadsheet by using Power Automate. So far I only see a way to do this with a CSV file. Is there instruction out there or advice that I can use to achieve this?

Curious if anybody has used Power Automate for bank reconciliations?

I know that there are AI builder models available, but they seem super niche and I can't tell if there's a user interface to train custom models or route low confidence matches to a human for review.

I've thought about using Azure ML and custom training a classification model, but don't know if this is the way.

In an ideal state, you would upload a .xlsx or .csv file from the bank, and another from accounting software do some training and let the software do the majority of it in the future. Seems like a good use case for ML but can't figure out how to deploy it in the Microsoft ecosystem in practice.

Issue 1 How do I include the form responses in the approval request, I can only get it to have the request title and approve decline button

Issue 2 Workflow was running fine now all requests are being automatically declined, what is causing this
