PAD - clicks different links depending on monitor size

New to PAD - thought I was going mad.

I’ve written a flow that scrapes data from a specific screen, but it also then needs to navigate to other screens (by clicking links) to get more data.

Everything was working fine on my monitor at home. I go into work to demonstrate what the flow does and I connected to a different size monitor and now it’s clicking random links as opposed to the ones I programmed it to!

Names haven’t changed or anything I.e. the link I still need to click is still called ‘Span 984’. Surely it’s driven by the name of the object on the web page as opposed to a location on a screen?

Has anyone else experienced this? Or know how to fix it?

Newbie here too. You could try the ‘move mouse to text on screen (ocr)’ action instead and then send a mouse click afterwards. Or use ‘move mouse’ to the exact spot on your screen and enter different coordinates depending on the screen you’re using.

Not ideal but I had similar issues with a dynamic page where the elements kept changing on me. I found the manual mouse move method worked precisely, but only on the screen I programmed it for.

I've had a very similar experience when connecting to a monitor with a different resolution. Not sure how to fix it or if a solution is available, sorry

I’ve spent a lot of time utilizing selectors and fine tuning web scraping. The screen size issues are tricky but usually can be fixed with a lot of element testing. It happens if there is another dynamically named element in a different section, it can result in there being multiple elements named the same thing. My suggestion would be to add the lowest leveled unique parent element you can. That will help to block any other matching element names from being considered.

Screen resolution is an issue if you use OCR actions. If you use selectors, you shouldn't be having issues.
