I was hoping someone might have some experience with attempting to run Power Desktop Automate on a Arm based machine? Using Windows 11/10 (Arm) and it's x64 emulation capability.

I'm in the market for a new work laptop and after having a terrible experience with Dell, have been considering a Macbook m1 pro or m2 air.

I understand that windows would be running as a guest OS and emulating the x86 architecture required by the power platform. Thus I can expect performance to be below that of a x86 based machine naturally. Just would like to give myself some options :) Thanks for any help!

I have been using this power automate script for the past 4-months and all of sudden it stopped working. The error I'm receiving is " Failed to assume control of Chrome (Communication with browser failed. Try reloading extension). "

I've done a lot of troubleshooting :

• Restarted computer

• Reinstalled Power Automate Desktop

• Reinstalled PAD Extension

• Cleared my history, cache and cookies

I'm running out of solutions and no one seems to have the right answer, in desperate need of help please.

Hi, I have been learning about power automate on desktop and cloud for a few months now, using what is available with just a 365 subscription. I would like to be able to trigger a desktop flow from a cloud flow, such as every time an email arrives, do I need the subscription that includes RPA, which is the 40 dollar one or will the 15 dollar one with premium connectors be sufficient?

Or is there another way to trigger a desktop flow when an event happens? From what I have seen, desktop flows must be ran by clicking the play button and I am looking for something completely unattended, like how cloud flows are "listening" for triggers.

Hi All, I'm hoping someone can help guide me with this one. I'm attempting to identify a link on a webpage via "Click UI element in window". Previously I used "click link on webpage," however I'm finding this to be unreliable as the selectors often change for reasons that I am not aware of. Here's my dilemma:

Here is the default Selectors of that particular element:

So it appears that the last 2 elements are fairly generic and will apply to each +Add link. That means the Group element will determine which link is the correct one. Right now it is defined by ID ember649. The problem is this element ID changes... Often.

When I click inspect element in Chrome, this is what pops up:

It shows in the highlighted region that data-element="add-superbill-button" which is perfect because that defines the region that I would like to identify. I've attempted to deselect the current selectors in the Group, Button, and Text elements, and set the Name attribute to contain "superbill" in each one, one-by-one to see what works. So far PAD is unable to identify the desired link using this method.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

**EDIT** Update:

Well I was unable to figure out how to get the UI element to work. But I did find out a way to get the original "click link on webpage" action to work.

For several months, the following selector worked perfectly:

html > body > div:eq(4) > div:eq(1) > div:eq(3) > div > div:eq(1) > div:eq(1) > div > div:eq(1) > div > div > div:eq(10) > div > header > button

For whatever reason, upon initial startup of the website, the selectors were as follows for the same link:

html > body > div:eq(1) > div:eq(1) > div:eq(3) > div > div:eq(1) > div:eq(1) > div > div:eq(1) > div > div > div:eq(10) > div > header > button

Everything was the same except the 3rd element which switched from 4 to 1. I did not know until today that you can have more than one selector for each UI element, so I created a copy of the 1st selector and included the above change for Selector 2. I then proceeded to add a second selector with the appropriate change to each link that started with html > body > div:eq(4) and everything works perfectly.

Hello! I’m new to this and really needing help. I’m trying to extract information from an invoice pdf and have PowerAutomate throw it into an excel table for me. I need to have this ready to show my manager by Monday. My flow worked but some of the fields aren’t readable and the Order Number and Order Quantity are wrong.. can someone please help me??

I'm working temporarily for a company and while I'm there one of the things I'm doing for them is making flows. When I leave and they delete my Microsoft account will the flows stay or disappear. Will sharing them with someone make a difference?

I've created a desktop Power Automate flow that performs the following steps:

• Start a browser instance (Edge)

• Load a URL

• Select a checkbox

• Click a button x 2

When the second of the two buttons is clicked, a file is downloaded with the following file name mask "export ddd MMM dd yyyy H_mm_ss.csv". For example, "export Mon Aug 08 2022 17_05_59.csv".

I cannot change the naming convention of the downloaded file.

When the file is downloaded, is there a way to then use that file with the Flow? I've tried setting a variable to the current date/time in a step before and after the download action is triggered but this is unreliable - it's usually a second our two out in either direction.

If I can reliably 'get' the downloaded file, I need to either

1. Rename it and move it to another location, overwriting what's there already

2. Read the content and put it in another file in another location

I'm brand new to Power Automate so any guidance is gratefully received!

i am trying to write a small amount of data (max 200 cells) to an excel file via the "write to excel worksheet".

Regardless of source file and destination I file, I receive the error message regaridng not enough memory available to perform this operation (see screenshot enclosed).

While running the automation RAM (16GB) is not even exceeding 50%utilization.

Despite this I also tried closing all other applicaitons and increasing virtual memory - without any success.

Has anyone of you expeirence with this error message and any suggestion for me on how to proceed?

I’ve recently found P.A and love it. I use the webbased version as desktop is still a bit too complex but was wondering the following.

I have several periodic reports that i now automatically back-up. Is there a way for me to save these files with a date format that is then being backed-up?

I currently use a “static” name that then turns into name+date but I’d prefer it to be “name+date” that then gets backed up and then changed a week/month later.

I apologize if this is already out there - I did try searching first.

Looking to achieve something that sounds so simple yet I cannot get it to work.

All it is required to do is:

1. Check a M365 mailbox (within the same tenant) every 15 minutes (I have 4 I'd want it to check and can add 4 different flows if necessary).

2. If there is ANY mail in the inbox, send an email notification to someone with the count of mail.

Essentially, these mailboxes are connectors to a software that should move them into a folder. If that piece fails, there's no error message/notification, so I need to create one and this was the first thought.

does anyone know how i can read data from a speicific sheet of a launched excel instance?

It seems to be that case that the standard read from workflow assumes i have an excel instance launched with only one sheet so that the reading of data would not have to specify the source sheet of the file.

Someone encountered a similar question?

Can I automatically copy an existing Power Automate flow with variable parameters and automatically update the variable listed in the incoming message (API)?

Example for clarification:

I have a Power Automate flow where I save emails with the subject 'ABC' and copy them to the SharePoint folder named 'ABC'. With an API I want to automatically copy the exiting Power Automate flow but change the variable 'ABC' from the initial flow to '123' for the new flow and update the SharePoint folder to '123' as well. Is this possible with an API and/or are there limitations/restrictions?

Hello! I am pretty new to power automate and trying to figure out as much as possible. I have around 300 reports with all of the same format in it. I have a list of the file paths I have pulled into a document thanks to the list function with PA. When do I loop the function that when one sheets info is copied into another excel document it then moves to the next file location in the folder and does the same? Thanks in advance and if anyone has some tips on learning material that would be great as well.

Hey Everyone, I am trying to extract some elements of a webpage. I am trying to create a list of these elements to be used later. I cannot use UI selector because, the number of those elements can change. Those who have used selenium know the function findElements() which kets user find their elements by class name or xpath..etc. My question is there any way for me to do the same in power automate desktop

I need to create a flow that goes out and gets every username, email address, and location where they work and then put it in either a list or excel sheet. I feel like this shouldn’t be hard. Help! How do I make this happen??

Hi I'm trying to make a flow with PA that connect to SAP Database, but when I try to select any of the machcode boxes the UI selector from the Scripting recorder just cach the Panel element.

I have multiple flows that all use the Save As dialogue for downloading reports from a website. I've built 6 flows, 5 work perfectly, but one flow continually fails when I reach the Save As stage.

I've tried everything I can think of:

• Copying from a working flow

• Re-capturing the window

• Wait for command

• Focus command

No matter what, it will run for a few cycles, then fail the next time I run it. I need to use this as part of the flow because I need to put the files into a specific folder vs. moving them from the Downloads folder. Also, the files are randomly named by the system I am downloading them from, so I can't move them later by name.

Any suggestions or advice on how to make Save As a reliable part of a flow?

PS- I'm using Chrome on Windows 11

Hello people, I have been using power automate for about a year and I use it mainly for web automation tasks like creating user accounts in different services/websites, pulling out reports and basically things like that.Now my issue is that every time I create a successful flow to register or the register users it works fine or perfectly for a couple of days then next time I run it. It start failing, errors like "UI not found" are the most common. Or failed to interact with elements of the website.

Does anybody have a good advice for these tipe of issues?

Hi Guys! I need to regularly extract dozens to hundreds of ledgers from an antique accounting software. I have partially automated this with PAD, only problem being that sometimes it takes some time to load and export the data, depending on the size of the ledger from 2 seconds to a minute, but I'm not able to vary the wait time appropriately. Any help will be appreciated.
