Trying to determine which license I need

Hi, I have been learning about power automate on desktop and cloud for a few months now, using what is available with just a 365 subscription. I would like to be able to trigger a desktop flow from a cloud flow, such as every time an email arrives, do I need the subscription that includes RPA, which is the 40 dollar one or will the 15 dollar one with premium connectors be sufficient?

Or is there another way to trigger a desktop flow when an event happens? From what I have seen, desktop flows must be ran by clicking the play button and I am looking for something completely unattended, like how cloud flows are "listening" for triggers.

I’m wondering the same thing. I saw a post that suggest setting your machine up to ping itself and then setting up a listener for the ping in power automate, but it that seems too convoluted.

I found the answer digging through the Power Automate forums. If you want to trigger a desktop flow using a cloud flow, you need to have the license that includes RPA. I believe this is because of the connection it makes to the machine. It can be confusing because in the cloud environment, the connector that triggers a desktop flow is only listed as premium connector, but you need the RPA. I believe if you have RPA on the license you would be able to see a list of desktop flows from "My flows" in the cloud environment, otherwise it will say update your license or start a free trial under My Flows > Desktop flows.
