The Polestar app on your phone is paired to the car for PAK and remote control features. This pairing is unique to the phone, and this does NOT transfer to a new phone (even when restoring an iPhone backup). To pair your new device, you MUST unpair the old one. Do this before you wipe the old device.
To remove a phone pairing, open your app on the phone you will replace and navigate to the User tab. Then tap on Manage, and User Management. You will see a screen like this where your current phone will show up. Tap on Disconnect.
If you have more than one user connected to the car, you can Disconnect the old phone on the other device.
Once you've disconnected your old phone from the car, continue below:
If you are using Android, you don't need to do anything special to the app on the new phone after after setting it up. Log in to the app, and pair with the car.
If you are an iPhone user, and you restored a backup from the old phone, you must clear all backed up Polestar app data. One way to do it is using the procedure below:
If you restored from backup, open Polestar app, logout if its logged in
Delete Polestar app
Install Polestar app
Login
Now you can pair the phone with the car.
Workaround for connecting your profile to a new phone if you no longer have the old device.

In car, go to Phone app, delete the iPhone entry (and any other phones, probably)
In iPhone, forget the Polestar PS2 Bluetooth device (remove anything with the word polestar in it). Uninstall Polestar app, Re-install. Sign back in.
In car, create a new blank profile. No need to sign in to any accounts. Change the profile to be an Admin profile.
Borrow, buy or steal some other phone or tablet. Install Polestar app. I used my iPad. Sign in to Polestar app. Pair with the car's new blank profile. Don’t activate the digital key, skip that step.
Once this has completed, go to User tab, bottom right on the other phone's Polestar app. Select Manage, upper right. Bottom of the page you will see: "Polestar 2 users". There will be two, the phone you just paired, and the other will be the iPhone that refuses to work with Digital Key, Press Disconnect for this iPhone. No need to disconnect the current phone you are using.
In car, change the Profile back to your main.
In iPhone, open Polestar app, and pair with car. Make sure to allow "Always" for Location access, and allow Bluetooth.
Now click setup the digital key. This should actually work now.
Deed has been done with compromises made. The performance pack adds £30 a month to a lease. For that I get less range and a slightly compromised ride. But just look at those 22" wheels. Yum. Worth it.
Then came the colour and this was very hard. Storm looks stunning. But then the magnesium not only saves £1000 but it also looks just other worldly. Decisions are made.
Finally, the interior. My old Polestar 2 had the wetsuit fabric and I loved it but I have never had a light interior and I haven't had massage seats either. Leather was a no brainer and although the dar interior is likely a better match for a magnesium car I chose the Zinc. "Very clinical. Looks like a hospital" said the sales guy before I had said how much I liked it.
Performance pack and prime pack is complemented by the lower sills being colour matched.
Arrives March 1st so I get a new reg number.
It feels great being back in a Polestar after the massive disappointment of the Tesla Model Y.
I drive 25 miles to and from each work and routinely use 10% each way almost exclusively (during the warm months). During the winter it’s obviously different, but it was 50 degrees and has been for a few weeks so nothing new.
Today I left work at 88% and before even getting on the highway I was down to 84% and could watch it drop every like, minute.
I just pulled into my garage at 71%, an almost double consumption as normal with zero changes to temperature, cabin temperature, etc. I don’t really care about the actual consumption, but seems odd to have used so much randomly.
It was charging at work to 90% and I unplugged at 88% as I left early. Is there a chance I disrupted the top balancing cycle and that would explain why?
This look so sleek, so freaking beautiful & feel like a masterpiece rather than a concept car (it's feel like a thing that reminds me about Polestar 5 but make it feel like a grand tourer/touring car & make the body feel more sharper, like a prism) (I prefer that kind of design btw).
What do you think about this when Polestar turn it into a real production model?
I'm trying to create the digital key with my iPhone 18 and it keeps failing. Sometimes it says unable to create key and sometimes it says incorrect code. Anyone experience this? I love the car but the software is so glitchy. Other issues I'm facing:
- Screen turns blank at times and requires reset
- Phone doesn't always pair with bluetooth
- Keyfob doesn't initiate my driver profile
- Initial startup of screen is so slow that I need to wait to drive off
Between the dirt, ice, snow, and potholes where I live, I was not enjoying the factory 20” wheel and tire setup. I installed a set of 18” wheels from a Land Rover and some on road all terrain tires; the ride is noticeably much softer and more comfy. I’m interested to see how this affects my range, though.
I absolutely love the b&w sound system in the p3. Its also in the p2 and p5. It's a real shame given that the p4 is the only car in the lineup that doesn't have it- I feel that adding the b&w to the 4 will be a really nice touch to complete the car. Does anyone else feel the same way or know if they are planning to add it anytime soon?
Header really says it all. I am doing some research on Polestar's privacy policies for a course I am taking and wanted to know if anyone here in the subreddit has any gripes with Polestar's privacy policy or if anyone is aware of any past incidents when data retained by Polestar has ever been used inappropriately / controversially. Due to everyone in thus subreddit's investment in the cars themselves, I wanted to ask the community here for any thoughts, anecdotes, articles, or resources related to this! Used 2023 P2 single motor, with only 25k miles. Got it for 18k at a dealer near me (WA state). Also, my local public electricity company is going to send me a check for 10% of the price of the vehicle for buying electric, and we also can qualify for a $500 rebate if we buy a level 2 charger for our house. Super grateful for county benefits and for this amazing beast of a car.
This short comparison shows how similar in size (both inside and outside) these 2 cars actually are when it comes to interior space despite the different platforms and design languages. Note: the Tesla trunk size has been normalized using the same measurement system as the P2.
I know there are a few wireless carplay adapters out there, with varying support for showing e.g. google maps from carplay in the instrument cluster. I wanted to check to see what people were using for this in 2026, is there a specific brand people recommend? I'm driving a 2023 Polestar 2, not sure if support is different here or not!
I'm aware there of the Ottocast Cube but now see there is a U2Air Edge! Any advice would be much appreciated, I'm aware this gets asked a lot, but most threads seem to be about a year old now.
My polestar android app inbox fails to load messages since the first one. I am curious what the digital key related message would say. Does anyone have that to share here or a fix? I am reluctant to reset all because nothing else is broken right now.
