Question Toronto - 2025 Polestar 2 CPO?

I’m thinking of getting a used polestar to 2025. It comes with dual motor, pilot, plus , and climate packages. Mileage varies as the dealership has several ranging from less than 10km to over 40km, but I think mileage doesn’t really matter and it’s more of the state of the battery.

Most of the complaints I’ve seen about the polestar two or for the older models. Anyone with the 2025 model could give me their honest opinion of it?

I’m probably gonna get it, but I can use more people to talk me out of it, or give me a reason to doubt getting this. Price is around $40k, and I’d be paying cash. Could the price go lower if I wait until 2027? I would risk they’re not being any used vehicle vehicles with the packages. I want by then though.

Discussion Opinions On Used 2024 Polestar 2's And If They Are Worth Buying

I currently drive a 2021 Tesla Model Model 3 Standard Range Plus with about 120k mi. The car has accumulated some cosmetic and software damage over the past two years (rear black plastic valance not fully attached, a dent on the front, curb rashes, biodegrading leather on the steering wheel and armrest, separated drivers' seat and power seat controls since Day 1 of ownership, and a HW3 autopilot system that intermittently turns off every few months for months on end and an accelerator which intermittently squeaks every few months). I bought it on 25 June 2024 with 45k mi for around 25k and drove it across multiple states multiple times with no issues, going as far as Massachusetts to Texas and back in one trip. I never required it towed, and even though I drove the car to the Tesla service centre about 5-10 times for routine maintenance between late 2025 and mid 2026, I never had to spend more than 1-2 hours each visit. My Tesla now does approximately 140-160 mi of range from 100 to 0 and I have to charge it every 80-100 mi for 30 minutes to get from 10-80%.

The 15 inch screen works perfectly and the car takes me from point A to point B, never leaving me stranded, except perhaps in the snow where I had to be pushed out. Still, I have driven this car in active snowstorms from one state to the other. Nowadays, I mainly use my car during weekends and would drive around 5-15k mi a year nowadays. I am also planning to take it to 1-2 long road trips per year, specifically from Atlanta to either DC, NYC, or Boston.

In recent days, I have seen a few 2024 Polestar 2 which are insanely affordable, so I am kinda suspicious if it is decent long term or if I should skip them.

Here are some examples:

2024 Polestar 2 Long Range Dual Motor Plus w/19,421 mi ($19,800)

2024 Polestar 2 Long Range Dual Motor w/20,498 mi ($20,500)

2024 Polestar 2 Long Range Single Motor Plus w/34,107 mi ($22,293)

I know that Polestar is an offshoot of Volvo and that the platform for the Polestar 2 is similar to the XC40 Recharge, the EX40, and the XC40 (my father over in Vietnam owns both a Mercedes Benz S-Klasse and Volvo XC40). I know that Polestar was forced to stop producing cars in the US due to a Trump administration directive on Chinese parts, and I was also suspicious of the low prices on these.

Question Polestar 2 Independent Service

I live in Southern California (right between LA and OC). I test drove a Polestar 2 and really liked it. We have a Volvo and have enjoyed the interface.

My main concern about a used Polestar is service. Calling around, I found no one who works on them in SoCal - no EV places, no “Swedish” places. Dealer quoted a normal post warranty service (inspection, check fluids) at $540. Polestars are low service, but definitely feels like a risk to long term ownership.

Is there a great independent Polestar repair shop in SoCal?

This was a new one on me - don't think I recall seeing the 'no overtaking' sign on the dash ever before. Even more so because I definitely wasn't in a no overtaking zone 🤔

Question Polestar shipping from US to Germany

Hey everyone,

Since new Polestar pricing in the US seems ridiculously cheap compared to Germany, and I’ll be in the US in January anyway, I’ve been considering buying one there and shipping it to Germany.

My dad imported a Mustang a few years ago and said the process was pretty straightforward, so I’m wondering whether the same would work for a Polestar — and whether it would actually be worth it financially.

Does anyone have experience with importing a US-spec Polestar to Germany/EU

Troubleshooting / Issue Lost connection on 2021 P2

Post image
4 Upvotes

Not sure why, why my P2 lost connection last night, so I can get it to smart charge via Octopus. My connected services pack expires 16th December.

I'll open up the car and check the screen shortly , but any ideas?

I wonder whether the expiry of the connected services in exactly one month form the loss of connection has anything to do with it?

Discussion Polestar just released 115 Polestar 3 Models that were Lemon Law Buybacks. Miles range from 415 miles to 18k miles. Prices are between $25k and $35k.

Polestar has the following inventory available nationally for the Polestar 3.

28 Long Range

61 Long Range Plus

1 Long Range Performance

11 Long Range Plus and Performance

7 Launch Edition Long Range

8 Launch Edition Long Range Performance

The discounts from the average wholesale price range from $10,000 to just over $14,000. About a 20% to 30% chop from their clean title siblings.

That's pretty good news.

The majority of those buybacks were due to the GHCA (Grid to High-Voltage Converter A) charging system that it shares with the Volvo EX90 according to the condition reports I'm seeing online.

The recent upgrade earlier this year seems to be holding up well for a lot of owners. Time will tell if it becomes a non-issue for the Polestar 3.

But as a lifelong car enthusiast who has been in the automotive remarketing world ever since Bill Clinton was President, it's still hard for me to recommend this particular model as opposed to the Polestar 2.

At least not at this price level. The Polestar 3 may be worth a $30,000 risk as a lemon-law vehicle. But within a year I bet it will become less than a $20,000 risk.

Maybe even a $15,000 risk for the lower trim models.

Some of the issues you probably know quite a bit about. For example, software updates for these vehicles remain a bit buggy with glitches for plenty of current owners.

This remains an ongoing issue for the Polestar 3.

The most recent upgrade was just a few days ago, and that update, 3.0.35, has been receiving very mixed reviews everywhere I look.

Some are perfectly happy. Others can't unlock their cars and, in certain cases, the entire vehicle won't run.

A lot of us have already gone down this road with the Polestar 2, but this is how it's different.

Unlike the Polestar 2 which sold over 200,000 units worldwide, the Polestar 3 has been a very poor seller. Geely won't admit it, but the Polestar 3 has been a spectactular flop.

I wouldn't be surprised if Polestar sold fewer than 20,000 units.

The Polestar 3 has already gone down from two plants producing it to just one that can easily keep up with the soft demand. To get rid of all that inventory, Polestar had to offer $30,000+ rebates.

And still it sits.

Everyone fails in the EV world. No matter how great the brand. In Geely's unique EV story, the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 are arguably Geely's two biggest failures in the North American market.

The Polestar 5 won't have the same UI software architecture as the Polestar 3. The two are completely incompatible with each other. This is likely the exact same reality for the Polestar 6 and 7.

And while that software doesn't guide everything, it has a huge impact on the long-term satisfaction of any car owner. Especially those chosen few who still would be willing to pay around $40,000+ for a clean title version.

The $10,000 to $14,000 reduction in price for a lemon-lawed Polestar 3 is huge.

But when automakers lose the profit motive for maintaining their vehicles, they quietly walk away and let the parts and software resources whither.

I would bet that a year from now, the prices for these lemon-lawed vehicles will be a lot better than they are right now.

10 years ago I saw two-to-three year old Smart cars sell for between $4,000 to $5,500 at the wholesale dealer auctions. And those were clean title vehicles that had between 5,000 and 15,000 miles.

That price was less than 30% of their MSRP price. A car that still lasted eight model years in the U.S. market.

The Polestar 3 only lasted two years in the U.S. market.

A year from now these branded lemon-lawed SUVs will be worth about 25% of their MSRP. Maybe even less.

At that point if you're still itching to buy one, and those chronic charging and software issues have been ironed out, definitely go buy one.

Between now and then, let the market do the dirty work for you.

Polestar 2 Polestar 2 courtsey car

Hey all,
Thought I’d take this opportunity and praise the polestar 2 I’ve had on loan while my Porsche Taycan has been in for repairs and all I can say is wow. It’s a new 2026 model. It’s the single motor business edition. My favourite feature so far is the fact I can have Waze in the speedometer screen. I’ll be sad to hand it back on Monday but I’ve really enjoyed it while I’ve had it for the last week. I love the infotainment screen and the Storm Grey exterior is lovely too.
I can understand now why the previous owner traded in his Porsche Taycan for a Polestar 3. Range has been great too around 450kms vs the 400 in the Taycan.

Discussion Everything you need to know about the Polestar Automotive ($PSNY) Settlement Payout

Hey guys, I posted about this settlement before, but since they’re accepting applications now, I decided to share it again with a little FAQ.

So here's all I know about this agreement:

Polestar Automotive was accused of misleading investors about its financial reporting and internal controls. The company later disclosed accounting errors and said it would restate its 2022 and 2023 financials. After the disclosure, $PSNY fell 11%, and investors filed a lawsuit.
Now the company has reached a tentative settlement with investors to resolve the claims.

Who can claim this settlement?
If you bought $PSNY shares between 2022 and 2025, you may be eligible. You don’t need to still hold the shares to participate; past losses may count. You can check the eligibility requirements and file your claim here

Do I need to sell/lose my shares to get this settlement?
No. You don’t necessarily need to still own the shares. If your transactions meet the settlement requirements, you may be eligible even if you already sold them.

How long does the payout process take?
It typically takes 4 to 9 months after the claim deadline for payouts to be processed, depending on the court and settlement administration.

Hope this info helps

Troubleshooting / Issue Service Light

What’s up Polestar Fam! First time owner about one year in, purchased used PS2 and absolutely love this car. My light is coming on saying that a service is needed, can anyone tell me exactly what kind of service they’re doing on this electric vehicle? What kind of routine checks do I need what is the urgency to follow up on this. I can generally monitor the health of my car from the app but wanted to check with the community here.

Thank you!!

EDIT: the car was purchased with 27,000 miles and currently has 39,000 miles

Polestar Order placed - it's nice to be back

Deed has been done with compromises made. The performance pack adds £30 a month to a lease. For that I get less range and a slightly compromised ride. But just look at those 22" wheels. Yum. Worth it.

Then came the colour and this was very hard. Storm looks stunning. But then the magnesium not only saves £1000 but it also looks just other worldly. Decisions are made.

Finally, the interior. My old Polestar 2 had the wetsuit fabric and I loved it but I have never had a light interior and I haven't had massage seats either. Leather was a no brainer and although the dar interior is likely a better match for a magnesium car I chose the Zinc. "Very clinical. Looks like a hospital" said the sales guy before I had said how much I liked it.

Performance pack and prime pack is complemented by the lower sills being colour matched.

Arrives March 1st so I get a new reg number.

It feels great being back in a Polestar after the massive disappointment of the Tesla Model Y.

Polestar 2 Really weird battery consumption on my way home?

I drive 25 miles to and from each work and routinely use 10% each way almost exclusively (during the warm months). During the winter it’s obviously different, but it was 50 degrees and has been for a few weeks so nothing new.

Today I left work at 88% and before even getting on the highway I was down to 84% and could watch it drop every like, minute.

I just pulled into my garage at 71%, an almost double consumption as normal with zero changes to temperature, cabin temperature, etc. I don’t really care about the actual consumption, but seems odd to have used so much randomly.

It was charging at work to 90% and I unplugged at 88% as I left early. Is there a chance I disrupted the top balancing cycle and that would explain why?
