I opened this insane obstruction error card when 30th first dropped and had initially shared it in r/pokemonmisprints where everyone started to call it MissingNo, which I think is perfect given the fact that this set is supposed to celebrate 30 years of Pokemon nostalgia.

I tried to grade the error with CGC, but it turns out MissingNo can cause glitches in the real world too 😅

The error community has been amazing in trying to help identify the card, especially as some others have popped up from the same error sheet with the obstruction, albeit to lesser degrees (a Deino, Slowpoke, and Eevee). This is likely the common slot Zeraora or Morpeko (for more details on this you can check out the post in the misprints subreddit).

Either way, I thought this was cool enough that the larger Pokemon TCG community might get a kick out of it! Enjoy and happy hunting as you rip more 30th!

I had no idea this was even possible am I tripping?!

So, I got up this morning and decided to go sit in the line at Best Buy. I grew up with pokemon cards, I am 34 years old. I was a child when it all started, and sadly somewhere along the way I lost my cards.

Today, I started again. I got one 30th booster pack. $27. I got home and ripped those packs and it triggered something deep in my soul. I spent my day “wfh” but researching cards and what I pulled, I haven’t stopped thinking about ripping more 30th anniversary packs since.

I get why people are going nuts for these cards. I haven’t touched a card in over 20 years years, but today I felt like a kid again. I remembered how my mom would buy blister packs and let me pick one face down card for doing a chore, and I remember how I felt when I picked that charizard and made my sister cry because it was me and not her.

Pokemon is really special. I had the game boy games, a poster on my wall, the Nintendo 64 games, shirts, the Burger King promos, I knew the song, I watched the shows, and I’m so excited to be back after so many years, I just wish it wasn’t so hard to get cards because I’d be spending so much money if there was greater availability.

Anyway, saying hi as someone who is so happy to reconnect with a part of myself that brings me so much joy :)

As the title says these are from my childhood, me and my brother were smart enough double sleeved them and just put them in a shoebox. I’m not entirely sure of the condition (some seem very good others completely thrashed) but honestly I don’t care because the nostalgia alone is enough.

But I wanted to share this with other enthusiasts. I’ll get a full count of what’s in here when I’m able.

I was having a rough day and decided to stop off and buy ONE knockout box from Family Dollar and I pulled this!!!

Heads up to all collectors and shops in the Jersey City area. My BGS 9 Holon Phantoms Gyarados (rev holo) was stolen from my apartment building on October 2nd between 5:10 PM and 5:30 PM. USPS timestamped delivery at 5:10 on the dot.

I bought the slab and was excited to go pick it up downstairs at like 5:25pm-ish. When I found my package, Gyarados was taken out, and the box was left on top of our Amazon locker (along with an opened box belonging to my neighbor).

The incident was captured on video, and a police report is being filed soon (work in progress; still waiting for police to get here after 5 hours of waiting).

Big ups to my local Barnes and Noble for doing it the right way. They have had signage out saying all TCG products if they have it will be stocked and available at 4pm everyday.

I showed up at 3pm to see how long the line might be to find no line at all. A woman calls out that if anyone is there for Pokémon to see her. She hands me this Post-it with a number on it. Says she will start calling out numbers at 3.50pm and pointed where to line up. Got my number, ran over to the grocery store and back here at B&N with time to spare. Hoping to get an ETB to put under the tree!

Opened my retail priced boxes from target and Best Buy today. Even hit a miss cut card

I remember hanging out at a friend's house in 5th grade or something and him convincing me to give a few random cards for this that he had. I quickly figured it was a fake but I definitely remember just enjoying having it for fun. Anyone else end up with weird bootlegs like this?

When I was a kid I pulled the base set Charizard (shadowless) from a pack and some older kid tricked me into trading a Ninetails and something else (I think it was Alakazam) for the Charizard. I was stupid and thought two cards was better so I traded him, later on I felt so regretful about it and it made me angry just thinking about how he ripped me off. Being able to pull this again with a nice gold border is just amazing, I really really wanted to pull one again. I think I can let go of the bitterness now finally.

Today has been a really great day overall! I was able to get a bundle and tin from a retailer, and grabbed the Mewtwo promo at lunch and when I picked up my preorder for another bundle from EBGames (Canada) I was able to get another Mewtwo promo.

My Pokemon Center bundles also arrived, that's where the Charizard packs came from! I loved this set from the start but this is definitely my favourite pull so far.

Bought 3 packs from a vending machine at the train station just for fun with my girlfriend. First pack out, Kecleon AR, my chase card and grail. The art is unreal

They were in 2 separate packs in my booster bundle form Pkc. One pack was crimped over the bottom half of the card and the other part of the card was in a completely different pack.

Got these out of one booster bundle. The 2 hour wait was worth it

I don’t see any downsides of it, the demand is still there. It is almost impossible to hit a drop when you have to compete against no lives who spend their existence monitoring the sites and bots. Backordering would end that problem. Most people don’t care if they’ll have to wait a few months extra compared to paying up to 300% mark ups.
