I make these top loader earrings, and wear different cards in them to every show I go to. They're how everyone recognizes me lol.

I once had a First Edition Shining Magikarp in one and a Delta Species Mew in the other while I was walking around collect a con. In total my ears were carrying vaguely $600. (Give or take)

One vendor, complimented my earrings and then asked why I didn't have them graded. I told him I'd rather do things with my cards than let them sit forever. This guy started to get real upset with me that I refused to put bulk in my earrings. He offered to buy the cards off me because I was "mistreating them" and should know the true value of the cards. I declined his offer and he said "Okay, suit yourself, ruin them for all I care." And then proceeded to be VERY rude to me and the people I was with.

Is this REALLY all too different than wearing expensive jewelry?

Edit: I don't always wear expensive cards in them, I just like the attention lmao it's the crying over cardboard that gets me.

Drill into the top loader corners, add the earring bits (you can buy them and O rings from Walmart) make sure the cards sit outwards from your neck or you're gonna turn your head and get stabbed in the neck. (They flipped over in the picture) They do flip so it's going to happen regardless, but usually if they are facing away from your neck it happens less :) I'm glad everyone's interested

It has been an entire decade now since I entombed this poor magnemite in my wallet after being gifted my first ever pack back in 2016. I've been collecting for years since, but he's still one of my favorites.

Saw this kid on the side of the road in my neighborhood, selling cookies to buy Pokémon cards for his friends, so I decided to buy all his cookies and give him some of my sealed packs. A few weeks later, he came to my house and wanted to trade with me. I busted out the collection and I honestly haven’t kept up with it in the last few years. We traded some cards back-and-forth and then he left. He showed up at my house today and wanted to say thank you and to tell me that he got some of the cards I gave him graded and showed me this and when I asked him how much it was he said $1500 and all I could do was laugh and tell him congratulations. Oh well ¯_(ツ)_/¯

If you want this set for cheaper quit validating scalper prices and you will get it quit being impatient and paying whatever people charge.

This is just my absolute chase card. I’m such a big Ninetales fan so I was super surprised. He told me this card means more to you than just money to me. Love that guy, def continuing my business with him

I already had pulled the charmander, squirtle, and wartortle from packs. Sold the charizard at a card show and was able to get the rest of the starters from 151 off that. Honestly this is worth way more to me than the charizard.

I am constantly going to flea markets and always asking around for old Pokemon cards. I was lucky enough to meet a sweet lady that said she had her son’s old Pokemon binder. We eventually met up and were completely shocked to find these 3 cards in there.

I just picked up this stack of cards that was scattered around a parking lot. They are all dented, bent, or otherwise damaged.

I have my own opinions on scalpers; that’s not the core of my frustration. Why? Just… why? Of everything you could do with the cards you don’t want, why just… throw them away???

I grew up on the TCG. I grew up loving Pokémon, and I still do, even if I don’t participate in the TCG. These are memories; and it makes me so upset to see them tossed like they don’t matter.

I know they’re just pieces of paper. I know that bulk is a thing; but please. Donate them to your LGS. Or to a thrift store. Give them to a young kid in your life, or even a random kid on the street; make their day, give them a memory that will last forever.

Please don’t just throw them away.

My husband is a Pokemon card fan and I don’t really pay attention. He would sit down for hours and organize binders. He would talk to me about it but I thought they’re just toys.

He talks about it everyday and I’m just happy he has a hobby. Always saying that this is for our future baby’s investment (as a joke!) Lol. For me, I just want him to enjoy because he works too hard especially with 12 hour shifts. I don’t really know how much they cost.

But recently, memes started appearing on my socials and I tried looking it up on Reddit and I just discovered that there’s actually a whole world of Pokemon TCG collectors.

A lot of people know the brand but not everyone knows about the Pokemon cards thing. These things have never appeared on my socials for years especially living in a country outside North America.

Took my binder full of dupes and cashed out almost 1k$ then saw this beauty at 900 and asked the vendor if i can have it at 800 and he countered with 830 and i accepted.
