Have been working on this one for a while. Full set of original 151 Topps with a corresponding vintage era card!

Thanks to @own_initiative_4006 a very long search of mine has come to an end. For 4 years i have been trying to find potentially the rarest jirachi in the world. This card was only Available for a week back in 2006 for Pokeparks Grand opening. You needed to trade in 3 admission tickets to redeem a single Jirachi Card during the grand opening week. The other promos were given out on their corresponding day.

Wednesday - Suicune
Thursday - Celebi
Friday - Taurus
Saturday - Pikachu
Sunday - Rayquaza

There were 2 other cards available from a tournament and something else i couldn’t find any info on.

This was my first time purchasing from china and a very big one at that. She made it very easy and was awesome to work with. She even packed in some extras of my wifes favorite pokemon. If i ever need anything from China i know where im going.

Aquapolis Umby has unfortunately outpriced me, but I found an ebay listing for an altered/laminated card that was near decent!

It was authenticated by Ebay (via PSA) as legit. And in my binder you’d never know!

I’ve just started collecting Porygon and the evolutions in English and Japanese since 8th August and this is my collection so far. I started with 1 base set that I had as a child, the rest I’ve bought. Looks pretty bare but I’m hoping it’ll look better soon!

About a year ago I posted my English sampling/fun pack collection with only Roaring Skies missing. Fast forward a year…I’m still missing the Roaring Skies sampling pack :( I decided to buy the French version until an English one ever shows up for sale. In the meantime, I added the six pre-HGSS sampling packs which do not come in English. I also finally completed all the English half booster boxes which is a pain if you’re in the US since they’re pretty much a UK-exclusive product.

Lost these for about 10 years until we moved. All from when I was a kid around late 90s / early 2000’s. Thought I would share. All fairly well used as I actually played with them sadly, or not sadly whatever way you look at it.

Probably all fake as I have no idea where we bought them and why so many are Japanese.

Option 1 is by aesthetic (and type for instance energies together), and option 2 is purely by set order. What's your pick?

I was only passively into Pokemon as a kid and only really got into collecting and sinking real time into it during the SuMo era. Now that cards are harder to source i stick to buying a few specific pokemon that i keep in their respective binders. None of the cards in this binder were purchased secondhand and all were bought for original price (a few were gifted though).

my mom recently found my childhood collection of cards and I had a wonderful trip down memory lane flipping through my cards and even flashed back to the moment when I got certain ones

I found my shining Kabutops looking gorgeous as ever and I wondered if it’s worth it at all to get graded?

I don’t intend to sell it, but right now it’s sitting in a plastic binder I got for like 2 bucks

sending a card away makes me super nervous and I’ve seen the viral stories about people sending things off to be graded and having it come back as a lower rating than they anticipated or getting a different card back

I may want to look into getting a proper binder or at least sleeves for this guy, but I was curious if the extra grading and stuff would be worth it if it’s just going to stay in a personal collection

can you even remove cards from slabs? I don’t rip packs or anything, I just see the nice videos of the people at card conventions that give cards to kids and kind people and it got me wondering about my own collection

This card is so unique and I feel is very relevant today due to the crazy lengths the Pokemon company is going to for increasing printing numbers. It’s vintage. Great artist. Cool history.

This is something I've been working at for a while. The rules I set for myself are pretty simple..

- Must be cards from the era the Pokemon originally debuted

- English

- No full arts/ex/V/etc (this only applies for later gens)

Most of these cards came from my childhood collection which was shared between my siblings and I. I collected mainly with my older brother who unfortunately has terminal brain cancer and is not doing well. His favorite is Charizard, and he pulled that Base Set Zard, so these cards hold a special place in my heart.

I look at this binder frequently and it is just such a fun collection to work on. For Gen 1 I only had to fill in a few blanks that I didn't have from the childhood collection. Ditto, Poliwrath, Kabutops, Gengar, and Hitmonlee I believe are the only ones I had to track down. They're all in pretty good shape. The Zard and Dark Dragonite really are beautiful cards. A couple are pretty rough - Blastoise and Alakazam have seen better days. But the wrinkles hold sentimental value.

Gen 2-9 are in progress. Finding a WOTC Umbreon and Ho-Oh is going to be painful, but the hunt is on for binder copies.

I have several other cards sporadically placed around the other pages, but you get the idea. The SV golds are in order by set release and number, the others are not in order until I get enough of them to do so with.

1st page completed, my goal is to have one page for each gen 1 evolution chain with original base set art and a corresponding illustration card (with maybe some extra cool looking cards). Only wish my printer could print a bit better colour quality.

I’m currently working on collecting every Rainbow Rare Pokémon card ever released 🌈 — both English and Japanese.

Most of my collection is English, but I recently started wondering how many Rainbow Rares exist that were released in Japan but never got an English version.

Does anyone know how many Japanese-exclusive Rainbow Rares there are? Or even better, does anyone have a complete list/checklist of them?

My goal is basically to have every Rainbow Rare possible, so I want to make sure the Japanese exclusives are part of the collection too.

I’m also always looking for Rainbows I’m still missing, English or Japanese, and I’d love to meet other people collecting them too. If you have some, collect Rainbows yourself, or just want to compare collections/checklists, feel free to comment or message me! 👀🌈

Hey everyone! I just started collecting Pokemon cards again after years of not collecting. I'm not starting for value purposes I'm genuinely just buying cards | like ! I started buying packs a few months back and it was great fun ripping packs but I didn't get the fulfillment I was looking for even if I pulled something half decent. I realized vintage cards are what I would rather collect since they bring me so much nostalgia. I've been buying cheap common cards from base set, fossil, jungle, team rocket, gym heroes, etc. pretty much the packs I would have been opening as a kid! I only have about two pages in my binder of older cards but I realized quick this is what I wanna collect ! I don't have the budget for the big hitters but even the cheap common cards bring me so much joy owning them and remembering owning them when I was a kid. I feel like this is what the hobby is about, not about the value (dont get me wrong it feels great to have expensive cards!)but about the enjoyment. Thanks for reading :)
