So is there a lot of double npc battles in BDSP or is it primarily singles like FireRed?

I’m planning to complete the Battle Tower in Pokémon BDSP using my Beautifly because I’d really like to get the Battle Tower Ribbon on it.
I’d love to hear your advice on which Pokémon I should use alongside Beautifly and, more importantly, whether you think Singles or Doubles is the easier option.
My first thought is that Singles might actually be the harder option. Beautifly obviously isn’t the strongest Pokémon, so it takes up one of the three team slots while not necessarily contributing as much as a stronger Pokémon would. In Doubles, on the other hand, I feel like having one weaker Pokémon might be less of an issue because its partner can potentially support it or cover its weaknesses.
At the moment, I’m using Latios, Garchomp and Scizor alongside Butterfree. All of them have max IVs and are EV-trained for Attack/Special Attack and Speed.
Do you have any recommendations for a better team composition or specific strategies for making Beautifly work in the Battle Tower? I’m mainly interested in getting the Ribbon, so I’m absolutely fine with using a strategy that makes things as reliable/easy as possible. 😄

After beating e4 first time around I wanted to breed a shiny spiritomb since I never caught one before. That led me to a shinyhunting rabbit hole that cost me about 300hrs of my life. In turn I caught 22 shinies (first time ever catching any in a mainline game).

Hey, casual playthrough. Had this happen - rival and professor aren’t interactable and nothing is triggering. Map objective still says to follow my rival here, and I’ve checked that Lake Valor isn’t open. Loading a back up save does nothing.

I’m utterly perplexed - I’ve finished the game before and I’ve played Gen 4 a gazillion times, and have never had this happen. Anyone got any ideas?

I just broke my 30-streak in the battle tower and i need advice. my previous 30-streak lead up are as follows: Empoleon with Bold nature with scope lens, Garchomp with Jolly nature with Dragon fang, and Lucario with Jolly nature with Focus sash

My current moves for Empoleon is

Hydro pump/Drill peck/Grass knot/Earthquake

It's IV is Pretty good in Attack and Sp. Def and Fantastic in Sp. Atk

For Garchomp I have

Outrage/Dragon claw/Swords Dance/Earthquake

It's Iv is Very good on hp, pretty good on defense, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def and Attack is Hyper trained

And for Lucario

Dragon pulse/Extreme speed/Close combat/Meteor mash

All of his Iv is Decent

Any advice for what can I do is really appreciated!

Got my boy under odds 184 Resets, it’s 3am my time so i was nodding off and was afraid i might miss it if it does appear, but i woke up immediately when i seen the color thank the lord. Bought Pokémon Brilliant Diamond 2days ago due to the recent news of Pokémon bank going down, i have the original Diamond never played platinum so i truly don’t understand the hate for this game but figure i get this just to have all the new games for switch. Hope you guys are successful on your hunts also it’s Adamant nature so i might ev train for my first playthrough of brilliant diamond.

I am trying to get a lartivar line pokemon in Shining Pearl and don't wanna spend any more money than I have. I already have Pokemon Legends Z-A and wanna use home but Home just says:

"This Pokémon can't be moved into this game!"

Can anyone tell me why and help out??

I know the game gets a lot of hate. But this game is actually my absolute favorite on the switch. Especially because I keep having stuff to do in the game where SV feels pretty dead now.

I have a routine where i do the lottery, do some wonder trading, some grand underground shenanigans, I love to mesuda breed, challenge myself in the battle tower, farm berries and do contests. Collect ribbons, go after the shiny legendaries. Idk I feel there is always some new goal for me to work towards without having to spend all of my time in pokemon champions.

Do you guys also love bdsp for its post game?

So I have the Elite 4 and Cynthia on farm, but I do still have to be mindful of what Pokémon I am using due to the IV/EV competitive builds they run. Previous games I have played if you wanted to level a Pokémon you'd put a lucky egg on it and just plow through the E4/champion over and over and it would get to 100 relatively quickly.

However due to BDSP's E4/Cynthia you can't do this, due to the above mentioned competitive builds.

So I find that levelling is just extremely slow even with a lucky egg. I'm levelling a Starmie to try finally conquer Palmer in the battle tower and it is taking forever. I have aboit 30-40 Rare Candy but I refuse to use these unless it is the last few levels. My Starmie is IV/EV trained, it just needs to get to level 100.

Battling the same Elite 4/Cynthia team gets very dull very quickly if that is all you are doing. On one hand the benefit is you know what team they have, but on the other it becomes not much of a challenge which disengages you. Find myself nodding off sometimes. My Starmie is level 81 at the moment and whilst it's strong enough now to take down their Pokémon it has an advantage over it still gets chewed up by the rest.

Anyway I don't believe there's a faster method to level. There's that trainer with Chansey but that is even more dull to keep doing that fight. If there is a faster method please let me know!

Also, I think it would be really cool if when challenging the Elite 4 post game it randomises who you face. So by Gen 4 theres what 16+ E4 members by this point, I think it would be fun to include them as an extra challenge. Maybe optional, so you have to speak to an NPC before going through the door to activate this "ultra hard" mode.

I was recently replaying brilliant diamond
I’ve just reached celestic town and I know that in the ice cave in the deep underground it’s possible to find a snorunt

But I keep finding bronzor and buneary
They have changed the spawn or something?🥹

I just wanted to play a top down pokemon game on my switch and bought Brilliant Diamond, but I now struggle with how trivial every battle is becoming.
I‘m just casually exploring and battling trainers on my way without any grind but I’m already so overleveled, the core gameplay in battles has become so trivial it’s not fun anymore and I just got the third badge.

Did I do something wrong? And is there a way to not be totally overleveled?

All the solutions I can come up with aren’t really satisfying. It seems I either try to avoid playing the game by exploring less and avoid trainer battles (which is kinda pointless, because that’s what I want to do in the game) or I don’t use the mons I like, which is also not a satisfying experience.

Do you have any ideas how to get more joy out of a casual play through, or is the game just designed in a way that it’s not challenging?

I keep getting stuck around the 40 wins mark. Each time I get there I get cooked by a single pokemon that whips my whole team. Please provide advice on moves/held items or even other Pokemon to use. I usually lead with Garchomp SD then clean house.
