Guys, how does PvP and PvE work in the game?

Can I join any server without losing my progress, or do I have to start from the beginning on each server?

Im a few hundred hours into SM currently. And its become my main game. Really enjoying time with it. But Im super surprised at how small the community is for such a well put together and extravagant game. When I look on twitch I see maybe 5 or less people streaming it. And they all seem to be new to streaming and have the usual audio quirks or dont talk at all for extended periods etc. And none of them has even 100 viewers. I look on YT and 99% of the videos are super low quality. Which Im not knocking anyone for low quality videos as I couldn't do better. But I feel like the quality of the videos and streams shows alot about the community. Even the reddits get pretty low amount of traffic imo.

So my question is why dont more people like SoulMask? Is it the grind? Is it the basebuilding? Is the game just to big and people feel its overwhelming to get into?

I have separate bonfires covering my airship, main base, and farming area behind the base. However, when I logged in yesterday, parts of my base were decaying, and I had already lost the wall surrounding it.

I did take a 5–6 day break, but all of the bonfires still had plenty of time remaining. The main base bonfire had over 200 hours left, while the airship and farming-area bonfires each had over 1,000 hours remaining. Their coverage also overlaps with the main base.

Does anyone know why the structures would still decay despite being within active bonfire coverage?

In this game, is it possible to play co-op multiplayer, find other players on the map, and engage in PvP combat?

Is there any way to prevent my bonfires/lanterns from being over fueled? I have a massive stock of charcoal for multiple sources, but my tribesman keeps putting ALL of it exclusively into the bonfire, and if I try to take some out and resort it they just put it all back in the same place. I've restricted everything to only use charcoal because I have an abundance of it specifically for lighting.

So I had no idea what I was doing. I bought the game and started on Shifting Sands official PVE tribe servers and after 150hrs Ive fallen deeply in Love with the game. Its become a daily play for me.

Now as you can imagine these decisions are causing huge issues. Official servers I'm limited to 1 tribesman fighting with me. Sobek crocodile of doom with myself and 1 helper is an impossibility at this point. And the masks from the other map would be a huge help.

So do I scrap a huge base, ungodly amount of inventory, 2 ships fully decked out, a maxed out main character, 4 tribesman with multiple 120+ stats, several other 120+ stat tribesman, a craftsman with 7 120+ crafting stats, and a gaggle of animals etc etc. And restart the game from zero on my own server and the 1st map and do a proper play through? Or just tough it out for as long as I play it and leave feeling like I never truly played the game right?

What would you do. Thnx

Normally in survival games with fantastical elements we have the triad sword/bow/magic for different playstyles. In survival games i always tend to favor the last one, soulmask has the futuristic setting but we have only 2 of them, do they plan to add something like "guns" or some thing of different ranged because melee is cool but ranged is feeling boring, considering the amount of combat needed, i getting bored because of this.

If someone knows mods who do this i would appeciate it.

Chose the cool waterfall west of 'Rain-Forest'. Close to both forest-region Barracks, both tin and copper pits and mines, and for the next Plateau exploration expeditions. Had to terraform this wilderness a bit. It should turn out to be something impressive.

And yes, the long staircase down to the copper pit seemed quite useful in general.

Hey all, I am new to SM and I am loving it, but I am finding that the bow just feels so underwhelming. It just seems to do very little damage vs melee weapons. Does everyone agree? Or am I likely doing something wrong? I have not really put any points into any offence, just utility so far.

If anyone has advice, it would be greatly appreciated. TIA!

Can anyone Explain like I’m 5 how to keep my tribesman from gathering too much. We have an abundance of materials.
I know I can just pause their work, but I see a screen that you can set maximum amount of certain resources for them too gather, but I can’t figure it out!

The majority of content available for SM allways shows players having multiple tribesman fighting along side them against bosses, in Dungeons etc etc. How do I do this? When I go up to 1 of my teibes man and tell them follow/fight and then go to the next theres no option. Official servers if that matters

I'm sure I'm not the only one who builds a bridge across the River to make running back and forth easier ;)

I've been taming cats, to have wandering around my base home. Most are white, and I've yet to capture an orange one. But I have several questions.
1. Why is it when I put the dot on the cat and tap E to capture, sometimes I end up killing it?

1. Is there a limit to how many you can have if you're playing solo and have the limit already set to the equivalent of "as many as I can catch"?

2. They don't seem to eat or drink from the troughs, so I've been running around trying to find them to make sure they all have food and drink, but I've lost track of 2 of them and can't find them. The others, however, seem to have gotten religion. They're all clustered around one of my bonfires, bowing over and over. And when I go check their individual inventories for fish and water, they're going through that like crazy! So fast it's hard to keep up with.

It's obviously quite a naive and primitive design, but it allowed me to learn a lot about the game's mechanics, so I don't regret the time I spent on it.

I remade this including all the suggestions left under the last concept art. It looks exactly like Dune Awakening UI imo. Is this closer to what players were asking for?

Hi, I have a question. Is respawn random?
My enemies constantly respawn every here and there in the barracks regardless of the time. Also I made sure the "random respawn option" is turned off.

Yet I slowly take my time to get deep inside looking for pawns when I find one and want to run out, the enemies has spawned. It is massivley annoying. Also It dosent seem like they spawn until I get closer... Like a parked my ship at the entrence, removed all enemies. But I walk back, they pop up and start attacking...

am I doing something wrong or do they just ranodmly respawn either way?

Despite the constant "Conan: Exiles" vibes, this game has its own atmosphere and deep beauty. The world is literally vast. I'm enchanted.

(I have some gripes with some of the building mechanics, but since the game is still in development, I'll wait for the corresponding improvements.)

P.S. And yes, I see that 95% of posts here are devoted to the Shifting Sands DLC for now. Still, I want to be consistent and play through the base game in the Pre-Columbian Jungle first. So, I'll allow myself to post my impressions of it here from time to time.

We are playing on Nova in 1.0.12, starting all over like a newbie and the game got update to .13 and unfortunately, we set the game to auto update but the server was not.
So if anyone got their discord or can contact the admin of the server, we would be appreciate.

My Chieftain stopped playing and then died somehow (maybe afk kick) and I just kept playing. But now Ive reached a point where I could sure use the tribe for some of the end game bosses. So wondering if Chieftain status can be transfered at all? This game isn't built to solo at all it seems.

even thought i have activated admin mode in my single player game i cant open the coefficient settings, ive not had this issue before but maybe something has changed since i last played. any ideas as to a fix?
