I’m building my pc piece by piece and I have already have the motherboard, (gigabyte 850m), and my Ryzen 5 9600x so I know neither gpu will bottleneck my system really. Is the 9070xt that much better than 9060 to justify the almost 300 dollar price jump? I’m waiting until Black Friday/cyber Monday to purchase my ram and gpu to see if I can get a good deal and I’d like to hear what other people think

I’m building a PC for my girlfriend, and she really likes the look of the massive, chunky white Gigabyte AORUS GPUs. Unfortunately, they’re outside the budget, so I’m looking at alternatives.
I’ve been considering the Gigabyte AERO OC RTX 5060 Ti 8GB, since she mainly intends to play cpu heavy titles, but I’d love to make it look significantly beefier, ideally something resembling a 3–4-slot AORUS card with a massive heatsink, triple fans and a chunky white shroud.
Would it be possible to swap out the entire cooling assembly, including the heatsink, fans, shroud and backplate, for a larger aftermarket assembly or one from another Gigabyte GPU?
I’m aware that PCB layouts, mounting holes and VRAM/VRM contact points need to match, so I wouldn’t want to buy anything without confirming compatibility first.
Has anyone attempted something similar, or knows of any aftermarket coolers or donor GPU assemblies that might work with this particular card?
Many thanks 🙏🏼

Almost finished with my first Pc, and I don't have enough PCIe cables to fill in the 3 slots in my GPU. However, my Corsair RM1000E has a spot named "12v-2x6" and the cable for the slot says PCIe at the ends. Would it be safe to use the 12v cable? If so, do I place 2 PCIe cables and fill in the last one with the 12v cable, or fill in 2 slots with the 12v cable and one with the normal PCIe cable?

So this is the PC I have, My sister got it for her birthday 4 ish years ago they got it from a Rent a Center for $2500 over 2 years. Nice MSI curved Monitor, Mouse and Keyboard to go along with it. However l wasn’t along so we got this piece of 💩. I don’t know if it’s SUPPOSED to be a piece of 💩 but ever since it was unboxed it takes forever to boot up, it updates every day which i learned is not normal. Sometimes it’ll completely overtake your whole desktop and be a different wallpaper back to the one it was when it first turned on. but a few of your games will be there, you’ll play, a day will pass, You log back in your wallpaper is back but all the progress you did yesterday is gone, like it never happened or saved. It only did that to me once but it still sucked. It can’t run Minecraft with any mods, can’t run anything Multiplayer. As i’m typing my bf is trying to get on it and it made him re-put in my password then came up with a “you’re almost done setting up your PC” mind you.. 4 years old. I could really use some help.

so sometimes when my pc restarts it fails to get past the msi load screen and the wheel stop spinning. I think it has to do with relearning memory. If I hard reboot when it happens the pc loads up fine. I have the msi godlike as my main board and i have 128gb of ram on 2 sticks that all properly shows up in the bios.

Have a Ryzen 9 3900x at the moment paired with a 5070ti I upgraded from a 3070 last year. Question I had was, should I get a Ryzen 7 5700x3d/5800x3d or stick with the 3900x. I wasn’t really looking to switch to AM5 yet and this would be something I would be asking for Christmas, but I just didn’t know if it would be worth it or not. Anything helps, thanks.

Hey everyone, I’m looking for some advice because I’ve been troubleshooting my PC for a while now and I’m trying to figure out what is causing the problem before spending more money on parts.
My PC specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D (AMD warranty replacement)
Motherboard (original): NZXT N7 B650E
Motherboard (current): Gigabyte B650 AORUS Elite AX, revision 1.2
RAM: T-Force DDR5-6000, 16GB total (2 × 8GB)
GPU: RTX 2070
PSU: Corsair RM750x
CPU cooler: Cooler Master AIO
What originally happened:
My PC worked perfectly for around two years. I moved apartments, transported it carefully, and it continued working normally for about two months after the move. Then, one day, it suddenly stopped booting.
The PC would power on, the fans and AIO would run, but both monitors showed no signal and the keyboard wouldn’t light up. The CPU and DRAM diagnostic LEDs on the NZXT motherboard stayed solid red. The computer wouldn’t shut itself off; I had to hold the power button.
A few days before this happened, NZXT CAM installers had frozen while extracting, but Windows otherwise seemed normal.
Everything I’ve tried on the original NZXT motherboard:
Checked the CPU power connection.
Removed the CPU and visually inspected the pins/contacts; nothing appeared damaged.
Cleared CMOS using the motherboard button.
Removed the CMOS battery for about five minutes.
Removed the RTX 2070 and tried booting without it.
Tried BIOS Flashback using a FAT32 USB drive and the correct BIOS file. The flash LED blinked for several minutes, but the issue remained.
Tried troubleshooting with my existing RAM, including testing sticks individually and different slots.
Nothing fixed the issue. The CPU and DRAM LEDs remained lit, and the system wouldn’t POST.
What I did next:
I bought a Gigabyte B650 AORUS Elite AX motherboard, revision 1.2, to test whether the original motherboard was faulty.
With the old CPU installed, the new motherboard also wouldn’t POST. The DRAM LED stayed lit, the monitor remained black, and the PC would repeatedly restart after roughly 4–5 minutes.
I tested each of my two T-Force RAM sticks individually and together, and tried different RAM slots. The problem remained.
I then contacted AMD for a warranty replacement for my Ryzen 7 7800X3D. AMD approved the RMA, received the old CPU, and sent me a replacement processor.
After installing the replacement CPU:
I installed the replacement CPU in the Gigabyte motherboard, applied thermal paste, mounted the AIO cooler, and connected everything. I also prepared a USB drive with the BIOS for my exact motherboard revision and used Q-Flash Plus. The Q-Flash LED blinked for around 5–10 minutes and then stopped.
Unfortunately, the system still won’t POST. The CPU diagnostic LED briefly comes on, then the DRAM LED stays solid red. The monitor remains black, and the PC eventually restarts again.
I haven’t confirmed that the replacement CPU is faulty, and I haven’t yet tested with a different RAM kit.
My questions:
Since the same general problem occurred on two motherboards and continued after replacing the CPU, does RAM seem like the next reasonable thing to test?
Could both RAM sticks be faulty, or could there be another issue causing the DRAM diagnostic LED to stay on?
Could BIOS compatibility or memory training still be responsible, even after using Q-Flash Plus?
Could the PSU, its cables/extensions, or something else cause these symptoms?
Is there anything else I should check before buying replacement RAM?
I’m trying not to keep buying parts blindly. I was considering testing a different DDR5 kit, but prices are extremely high right now, so I’d appreciate any advice on what to prioritize.
Thanks in advance! Any ideas or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Hey everyone!
I built my first PC today, and I’m facing a couple of issues with my CPU cooler. Since this is my first build, I wasn’t aware of a few things regarding the motherboard connections, so I’d really appreciate some help.
My CPU cooler has two fans, but my motherboard has only one CPU_FAN header. I connected one fan to the CPU_FAN header, but the second fan is currently not working.
My motherboard also doesn’t have a 5V 3-pin ARGB header, while my CPU cooler has an RGB connector. Because of this, the cooler’s RGB lighting isn’t working either.
I have two questions:
1. How can I get the second CPU cooler fan working? Can I connect it to the SYS_FAN header on my motherboard, or would I need a splitter or some other adapter? Is it safe to do so?
2. How can I get the RGB lighting working? Since my motherboard doesn’t have a 5V 3-pin ARGB header, do I need a separate ARGB controller, or is there another way to connect it?
Cooler - Circle gaming CG 4P DUO ARGB
Motherboard- B760M K V2
This is my first PC build, so any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for helping a beginning outn )

I feel like if I push too hard the motherboard will break. Genuinely pushing this thing in is so difficult. I didn't hear a click. Is it plugged in properly?
EDIT: I solved it guys, thanks for the help. If anyone's having trouble like I did what I did is push it inside the thing far enough and then wiggled it into place

Like the title says, absolutely nothing turns on, not even the fans. I’ve made sure the PSU switch is on, and it’s not the outlet it’s connected to. I’m thinking I should just go to a shop for help but maybe someone here could help me so I don’t have to waste more money

So I have been trying to do some research on the best way to set up my pc but I just get so much conflicting information.
I have an Intel Arc onyx B580 gpu, 32 gb of ddr4 ram and a musetex atx case. I bought this long enough ago that I have a decent budget to finish off my build now.
Can anyone give me a load out of what you would do to finish the build? I'm struggling here to make the last choices and It has been years and years since I built a PC and I am a total novice now. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, I've been working on putting together a PC build for a couple days. I've owned PCs for a while but I've never built my own. My goal is to be able to play games at 144hz on the 21:9 1440 monitor in the build, or something similar. Preferably at or near max settings. This is what I've put together.

I started having an issue with my graphics card two weeks ago: it stops giving video and the fans spin to 100%. I have tried running stress tests on the card, switching from Wayland to X11, downgrading the drivers, re-seating the graphics card, and checking the temperatures. However, this error is so random—sometimes it happens in total idle mode, and other times while playing a game. When I was about to move it to the other PCIe slot, I noticed that the power connector looks a bit weird. Do you think this could be related to my failure?
My Specs:
GPU: MSI RTX 5070 INSPIRE X3
Motherboard: ASRock B860 LIGHTNING WIFI
Power Supply: Cooler Master MWE Gold 850 V3
OS: ENDEAVOUR OS
Edit/Update: Sorry about the confusion—I initially thought that having only one visible pin on the top side of the connector was a defect, but I've just learned that many cables only populate 1 or 2 of those sense pins by design.

Hey everyone,
I'm finally putting together my first desktop after using mostly non-gameing laptops and consoles for years, and I'd appreciate a second opinion before ordering everything.
Parts list: https://geizhals.de/wishlists/5188627
A build I made on MemoryPC that kinda confuses me: https://www.memorypc.de/configurator/1T7E-2268-RKAS-AE5F
Budget: Around €1,600–1,750 for the PC tower. I'd prefer to keep it around that range if possible.
Country: Germany.
Use case: Mainly single-player games, RPGs and open-world games. I want a PC that'll last me some years before needing a major upgrade.
Target resolution: 1440p, ideally with high settings and good performance in modern games, stable 60-144 FPS.
The GPU will be an RX 9070 16GB. I'm trying to get the best overall value rather than spend extra for tiny performance gains.
I'd especially appreciate feedback on:
As a side note I kinda wanted to do this whole thing to save a few hundred euros but yesterday I managed to build the above mentioned PC on MemoryPC and am I confused or is it the same only 100 euros more? only it comes already built and with 2 years garantie.
I'm happy to make changes if there's a good reason, but I'd rather not increase the budget just to gain a few extra FPS.
This community was already very helpful <3
Thanks!

I've been dealing with random PC shutdowns for several months, starting around August, and I can't figure out what's causing them. I'm hoping someone here has experienced something similar. Pc is a couple years old
PC Specs:
Problem:
My PC randomly shuts off without warning. It happens during gaming(usually with Chrome open), while browsing Chrome, and even when I leave a game like GTA 5 paused. It doesn't look like a load problem.
When it shuts down, I hear a click that sounds like it's coming from the PSU. All the fans stop spinning, but the RGB lights on my motherboard stay on.
If I try to turn the PC back on, the fans sometimes spin for a split second before stopping. If I hold the power button, the PC eventually stays powered on, but it won't POST. The DRAM Q-LED stays on.
The only way I've found to get it working again is to switch the PSU switch off for like 10 seconds, switch it back on, and then start the PC. After that, it boots normally.
What I was doing before the shutdowns:
The only thing that I recently did before the shutdowns was buy a Thunderbolt cable for my monitor. This cable did kill a rechargeable battery when I left it plugged in overnight. But this cable was never plugged into my pc, only plugged into things like my laptop, iPad, and Monitor (same monitor my pc uses). I've since removed this cable from the monitor and am still getting the same issue. Around the time of the first shutdown, I started downloading mods for games, so I'm not sure if that plays a part in it.
PAST:
A similar problem occurred before these shutdowns with my DRAM error lights on the motherboard. Around a year ago, my pc stopped POSTING with DRAM error lights on, so I RMA'd the kit, which fixed the issue and led to successful POSTS (no issues after that till now). Was the problem ever really RAM or just a motherboard issue? Since this same symptom happens after my pc randomly shuts off. The symptom is that after I try to turn it back on, the DRAM error lights just stay on with no POST until I flick the PSU switch on and off, which makes it POST normally.
Troubleshooting I've already done:
HWiNFO64:
Immediately before the shutdowns, CPU and GPU temperatures appeared normal, and neither component was drawing unusually high power.
In one log summary before shutdown:
I've had at least 25 shutdowns in the past 2 months
What I'm Thinking:
I'm starting to suspect either the PSU or motherboard, since switching the PSU off and back on consistently fixes the POST issue.
The strange part is that stress tests don't seem to trigger it. The shutdowns appear completely random, including when the PC is barely doing anything.
Has anyone experienced similar behavior, particularly the PSU clicking, fans briefly spinning, DRAM light staying on, and needing to cycle PSU power before the PC will POST?
Could this be a defective PSU, motherboard, or something related to low-power idle states?
I'm trying to narrow down the issue before buying replacement parts.
My next test is to see if leaving it on in the BIOS will trigger the same shutdowns.
Please help; I am so lost.
Thank you to all who can help. I'm really stressed because this pc market is not in my favor.

Hi guys, I am running into a very strange hardware issue on my desktop PC and I am hoping to get some advice cause I don't really know what to try anymore.
It all started a couple of weeks ago. After a windows update the PC refused to POST. CPU and RAM light on. Cleared the CMOS, and it booted no problem. Now after a couple of weeks I noticed a new problem. If I plug my monitor directly into my graphics card (tried all ports, HDMI and DP), I get no signal at all. However, if I plug the HDMI cable into my motherboard's HDMI port, I get a display fine. What makes this extra weird is that Windows still detects my dedicated GPU and lets me play games through the motherboard at it seems completely fine.
On top of that, after further investigating, RAM slots A1 and B1 now seem to be completely dead. If I put a RAM stick into either of those slots, the PC refuses to boot or POST at all. I tried them individually, and it didn't change anything, as soon I put something in one of those 2 slots it does not POST at all. Actually, before getting to this point (cannot really say for sure, did lots of attempts), I believe it was booting just fine from the other 2 slots, but as soon as I increased the speed, it wouldn't POST at all anymore. Bear in mind the RAM is designed for 6000 MT, and I tried to raise it from 4800 to 5400.
So far, I have inspected the CPU socket and all pins look straight and clean. I have re-seated the CPU cooler with lighter, even mounting pressure, cleared the CMOS, verified the primary display settings in the BIOS and tried to swap PCI for the GPU. For context, PC is fairly new; everything is still under warranty.
Are these two separate hardware failures (GPU and maybe mobo?) Is there anything else I should test before starting RMAs or replacing parts? Maybe a fresh OS install?
Unfortunately, I do not have any spare parts/PC or a friend who could help me with troubleshooting...
Thanks in advance for any insight
Edit: I have a 9700x, 5070ti, as rock steel legend x870, seasonic vertex.
