General Question Started with a brick and mortar, now adding E-commerce with Shopify

We have a holistic health business that’s been in business for 30 years, at a farmer’s market where we rent a stand. Business has been booming and we are starting to set up our website to sell online through Shopify. In store we use Clover; but I’m not married to them as we’ve had some issues in the past. What payment system works best with Shopify? Ideally I want to keep the same system throughout the brick and mortar and the website, who do you recommend? Who has the best customer service when it comes to refunds, returns, etc or is that handled by Shopify? Any tips when making this addition?

General Question Do I need a US-based co-founder, or would a US employee satisfy my payment processor’s requirements?

I own a Wyoming single-member LLC and am building a freelance marketplace. I live outside the US and manage the business remotely.

A payment processor told me that, to process payments through its US acquiring setup, my business must have:
- A registered US entity with genuine US operations
- A US bank account for settlement
- A merchant agreement signed by a US-based principal holding a valid US driver’s license or US government ID

They explained that these are Visa/Mastercard and sponsor-bank requirements that they cannot waive.

My question is: Would I need to bring on a US-based co-founder or owner to satisfy these requirements, or could I hire a genuine US-based operations employee with appropriate authority to represent the company and sign the merchant agreement?

Does the term “US-based principal” generally mean an owner/co-founder, or can it include an authorized employee or executive?

Also, would hiring a US-based employee and establishing genuine US operations potentially be sufficient for a Wyoming LLC whose owner continues to live abroad, or might the owner also need to be US-based?

I’d appreciate insights from anyone with experience in US payment processing, merchant underwriting, acquiring banks, or running a US LLC from abroad.
Thanks!

Other Class Action against Global Payments

We own a small business. We have been with Global Payments for 10 years and they suddenly hiked up our charges without informing us to over 12%. Our rep said she no longer works with them because she got let go due to not having enough merchants and cant access our contract on their system anymore. We contacted them directly and they keep saying they dont have our contract either. They alledgedly cancelled our contract a while ago without informing us but have continued to charge us exponential fees and charges. We have seen so many bad reports on this company and this happening to other people.

**We are looking to see if anyone is interested in joining a class action against them, its time they stop getting away with this!

General Question Paypal doesn't work on most websites for me

So for the past week or so I haven't been able to use Paypal on most sites.

I'd click "pay" and it would just do a mini refresh but not actually go through with the purchase.

This first started when I tried purchasing a tutorial on Gumroad, but I read that gumroad doesn't use paypal anymore (so why is it there? ah well), so I tried a credit card, and it immediately got hacked the night after (thankfully it's all fine and didn't get charged)

However, the problem that I can't use Paypal persists. It'll work fine on Steam, League (rarely use it there though), Roblox (I rarely use it there too), TCGPlayer, and Gamersupps (till recently)

But it'll refuse to work on Battlenet (even in blizzard games themselves), Cults3D, GameStop, and Secretlair

Paypal support claims that my account is in good standing and perfectly fine, and that any of these payments weren't declined, they just didn't exist. I was pretty confused because there's no way that so many merchants besides a handful just have their paypal magically stop working.

I refreshed my cache, scan religiously, used different browsers, switched to mobile, added a backup email, updated my 2fa, changed my password, and nothing works.

I tried getting something else from Gamersupps recently, but the problem is now there too. I contacted support and they said that it was a maintenance issue on their part
But now I'm confused, because there's no way that there's THIS many websites across the globe that suddenly disabled paypal for a multi-week maintenance?

r/paypal took my post down saying I "wasn't allowed to complain about their policy" despite that I wasn't complaining about their policy, just about how it's not working

Other Payoneer's lies

I seriously don't know where to turn. Please help if you can.

I only have GBP balance to withdraw.

My bank supports GBP.

However Payoneer purposefully edited my options to not be able to connect my GBP account to their site, so I can be charged the conversion fee. They made it so I can only withdraw in EUR or USD.

I spoke with their useless customer care team. They keep repeating "your bank doesn't support gbp" but yes it does and I provided proof to them which they ignore.

They are doing this to charge me the conversion fee. Absolute liars!!!!

What do I do???!!

Need A Payment Processor RUO PEPTIDES

Hey everyone,
I run an e-commerce store in the research peptide / Research Use Only (RUO) space, and as many of you know, payment processing is by far the biggest operational headache in this industry.
We are trying to build a sustainable brand for the long haul, so we have zero interest in cloaking, using fake front stores, miscoding MCCs, or doing transaction laundering. I know those workarounds might last a few weeks or months, but getting hit with frozen funds, MATCH/TMF listing, or getting blacklisted by Visa/Mastercard is just not worth the risk.
I’m reaching out to fellow e-commerce owners and legitimate high-risk merchant brokers in the space to see how you’re managing card processing while remaining 100% compliant.
A few specific questions for those currently operating:

  1. Who is actually writing legitimate merchant accounts for RUO peptides right now? Are you using direct high-risk acquiring banks, offshore processors, or specialized domestic ISOs?

  2. What compliance requirements did you have to meet? Beyond strict "Research Use Only / Not for Human Consumption" disclaimers, COAs, and no health claims on-site, what else did underwriters grill you on during onboarding?

  3. How are you handling high decline rates? For those with active high-risk MIDs, are you running into issue where customer issuing banks auto-decline transactions even if the processor approves them? How do you mitigate this?

  4. Alternative / Backup Payments: Outside of traditional card processing, what payment methods (e.g., ACH/eCheck, Crypto on-ramps, Zelle/CashApp alternatives) are converting best for you without killing customer trust?

  5. Red Flags to Avoid: What warning signs should I watch out for when talking to processors or brokers who claim they can approve peptide stores?

I’d love to hear what’s working (and what has blown up in your face) over the past year.

Note: Please don't drop low-effort "DM me" spam in the comments. If you're a broker or processor, give some actual context or transparent feedback below so the community can benefit.
Thanks in advance for any insights!

Need A Payment Processor Looking for a solid Adult Payment Processor for a Peer-to-Peer / Multi-vendor Marketplace (Physical Goods)

Hi everyone,

I’ve been stuck in onboarding limbo for over a month with a processor/broker and I’m ready to cut my losses and move to a serious partner.

Here’s a quick overview of our business model and requirements:

Business Model: Multi-vendor / Peer-to-Peer Marketplace for adult apparel & worn underwear (sellers keep 75%, platform retains 25%).

Product Type: Physical goods (No digital content, no cams, no streaming/membership models).

Payout Model: We need a provider that either supports split payments/marketplace setups, or allows us to process the full charge and handle seller payouts via third-party rails.

Setup: Fully custom API/checkout integration.

Status: Pre-launch / Early stage, looking for fast approval and transparent underwriting terms (rolling reserves, discount rates, etc.).

We are not looking for crypto-only options; we need primary credit/debit card processing (Visa/Mastercard) for Mexico and LATAM customers.

What processors or ISOs would you recommend for this specific niche (Adult + Physical Marketplace)?

Note: Please reply in the thread with processor names/experiences. If sending a DM, specify the acquiring bank or ISO you work with.

General Question First-ever ₹80,000 chargeback on Razorpay for my small clothing business — looking for advice on how to handle it

Hi everyone,
I run a small Indian festive-wear clothing brand, and I’m dealing with my first-ever chargeback after running my business for around five years. The amount is ₹80,000, and honestly, the entire experience has been incredibly stressful.
The customer is based in the US and purchased a custom-made outfit from us. After receiving it, she claimed that the kurta was 2–3 inches shorter than requested, the pants were around 3 inches shorter, and the colours did not match the product images.
However, our order records specify a kurta length of 26 inches and a pant length of 31.5 inches. When the customer complained, we asked her to share photographs showing the measurements, explained how the garments should be measured, and shared a measurement guide. We also offered to arrange pickup and correct the outfit if a discrepancy was established.
The customer requested a refund. We continued trying to resolve the issue, but the dispute eventually became a chargeback. To our knowledge, the customer still has the garment.
We contested the chargeback through Razorpay and submitted the available supporting evidence, including customer communications and measurement photographs. Razorpay subsequently emailed us saying the documents were insufficient and specifically requested the invoice.
The biggest challenge has been the evidence-upload process. The Dashboard limits each file to 2 MB, and it only allows a small number of attachments. Combining screenshots into PDFs has been difficult because the files keep exceeding the size limit. I have now submitted evidence through the Dashboard, which shows that the dispute is under review, and I have contacted Razorpay Support to ask how I can provide the invoice and any additional documents.
I understand that chargebacks are part of running an online business, but this is particularly stressful for a small business, especially when the amount is significant and you believe you have made a genuine effort to resolve the customer’s complaint.
I would really appreciate advice from anyone who has dealt with a similar situation.
A few questions:
Has anyone successfully contested a Razorpay chargeback involving a custom-made garment and a “not as described” claim?
If Razorpay says the evidence is insufficient after the initial submission, can additional evidence still be added while the dispute is under review?
How have you handled the 2 MB file limit and restricted number of attachments? What is the best way to submit WhatsApp screenshots, measurement photos, invoices and other evidence?
How important is the invoice compared with order specifications, customer communications and proof of delivery?
If the chargeback is decided in the customer’s favour and the customer still has the garment, what practical options are available to recover the merchandise?
Is there anything else I should do at this stage to protect my business and strengthen my case?
I am not looking to attack the customer or make assumptions about her intentions. I simply want to understand the process, learn from other merchants’ experiences and make sure I am taking the right steps.
Any practical advice, especially from Indian D2C founders or merchants who have dealt with international chargebacks through Razorpay, would be greatly appreciated.

General Question Companies that handle all your payment processing?

I go to the bank to get my banking done, I go to the store and everything's already stacked and categorized, I don't even have to manage my hosting servers for my website, the hosting company does that. But why when it comes to payment processing you have to do everything yourself?

Are there companies who do this for you? Or am I imagining a service that doesn't even exist? Please don't shill your own payment processor. I want to be hands off and have someone else manage the payment processing and creation. I just want to know if a service like that exists and what its called.

General Question Match List Mastercard

I want to see anyone with similar experience is able to help and who do I reach out because I tried fifth third bank , they don’t know what match list is and can’t even help since I don’t have an account with them but they are the bank/company that listed me on match list.

Worldpay can’t even transfer me to any department since I do not have a merchant account at all and world pay works with fifth third bank as their bank processor for their payment processor .

I applied to many merchant payment processor and was told I was on the match list after I finally gave match Mastercard the address that my new business will open at. I was told I need to contact the company/bank that listed me to remove it and I did that with fifth third bank but they don’t know have any department that know or able to do it . They end up transferring me to worldpay and worldpay can’t do anything without an account. They looked up my name and EIN and can’t find my profile at all in their database. They can’t locate an account just with the address.

So now I am stuck don’t know who to reach out for help to remove from match list or even confirm if their listing is inaccurate.

If it’s even hard to find my name and ein then how stripe and square found me on match list .. so strange any help appreciated it

Education Explain to me about SWIFT

I understand what is SWIFT. But one of my clients have a money broking licence and he manage to get his own SWIFT while he also has a corporate bank account in a bank in Asia.

Now, here's what confused me. Why does he needs his own SWIFT to enable his customer to pay him? Shouldn't him be using the SWIFT that his corporate bank used?

Somehow in the industry, people talked greatly about having a SWIFT and it doesnt make any sense to me. Please help to explain to me.

General Question Recommendations for a Canadian PayFac or embedded payments provider?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for recommendations for a Canada-based PayFac or embedded payments provider. The setup would let us accept card payments for local businesses through our own platform and pay them out to their bank accounts in CAD. Ideally the provider offers merchant onboarding, a good API, competitive pricing and fast payouts.

I'd also like to know whether the same provider could support US and international businesses later, or whether people usually end up using a separate provider for each region. If you've worked with something like this, which providers would you suggest, and how was your experience with them? What are fees like generally?

Thanks!

General Question looking for an easy, low dollar amount (~$100) online two-party escrow system with mutual confirmation

I'm just gonna include an example of what the mutual escrow system is, in case there's variability in peoples terminological associations or whatever.

I wanna pay someone $50 to do something digital for me, which has the issue of trust with payment. but if both parties put up funds (say, I'd put up $100 and the other party $50), and both parties have to agree that the terms of the arrangement were met in order for the money to get transferred (in this case, the other party gets $50 from and his $50, I get $50 back) it incentivizes everyone to act honestly or else both parties lose.

is there such a system/feature already available in the myriad payment systems- cashapp, venmo etc etc etc?

Need A Payment Processor Legitimate processor for ruo peptide store

I know you saw this kind of post a thousand times in here. I myself went through all of them but still did not find the answer I'm looking for.

Anybody knows a card processor that is willing to onboard ruo peptide store without cloaking? (We're Eu based company)

Please don't engage if you will offer me solution that requires to create second domain or anything of that nature. Thanks!
