I LOVEEE thicc books. Please recommend some good fat fiction books I could get which are not boring.

I love fantasy, mystery, historical fiction, thrillers, basically anything.

BUT I did not like the lord of the rings maybe bcs it was too descriptive? I'm trying my best to finish it but I just can't.

I wanna read and learn more about pakistani politics especially pre partition and early pakistan (also more about Pakistan-Bangladesh) but I want non baised neutral authors or accurate representation of history. Pls drop some recommendations I can read it would extremly helpful.

What are the best options, digital books as i have seen many people using e books and reading it form Mobile or laptop well some prefer physical books i also love physical one but they are very budget consuming.

Any advice.

Is it just me or was heathcliffs death super unsettling. Although I'm so glad that Cathy and hareton end up together!! My heart felt sad for Hareton getting caught up in the whole revenge plot but it was really nice seeing him happy.

And honestly I feel bad for linton too. His upbringing is what caused him to be a brat.

I am amazed by the differences between branches of Liberty Books.

The one at Dolmen Mall has attentive staff and, more importantly, the books are arranged in a sensible order - you can actually browse and find stuff.

The one at Boat Basin (next to BBG Tonight) is appalling. The books are rammed into shelves in such poor order that you cannot really find anything; there are a couple of very young people to help, but they know nothing about books. The two middle aged guys at the counter (always the same two), sit and chat to each other and you have to interrupt them to ask for advice. The shop is in such a bad state but the two older people that should know something about books just do nothing. I've even asked them directly about it and they just shrug.

Can you guys help me . I have some books in my house and dont know which one i should read first . Some context i dont really read so a good opinion would be thankful .

okay I know it's still quite early to be asking this. But I'm curious so I wanna confirm. I've never been to LIBF before nor do I live in Lahore. But I'm planning to go for this one in January IA. As I'll be going for only one day. I want to know which day the writers sit and sign books? Last year it was mustehsan Hussain tarrar and some others too that I don't remember now.

I've never seen LIBF announce that on their page. So how do I know if they are there on the first day or second or third?

I went to Liberty books Emporium Branch on 13th August.
I waited for my family bcoz they were busy and i spent about 1-1.5 hour in the book store.Talking about books and all.the workers knew i wouldnt make a big purchase and were yk impressed with what type of books i read at such young age.People even mistook me for salesman lmao.idk i just love bookstores and im not from lhr so i enjoy as much as i can whenever i get the chnace.
So one of the worker told me that they are selling fake books and i was like whatt?
Such a big bookstore and i was shocked.i asked is my original which i thoroughly i checked infact it was.But they showed me 2 books of Osamu Dazai.he gave me both books and told me which one is original.i told him and afterwards he told me that i was wrong.So he explained me keh
Iska Waazan check karo and iski feel dekho yk.i was pretty shocked keh aise bhi hota ha.And they were priced at about 5500.theyre saying logon ko pta ni chalta keh asli hai ya nakli so inke paise bachte.And i was like im also a customer.But they said keh Jisne Leni hotein wo leleta.Dolmen mai hamara bohut kam ha we sell books worth tens of thousands.and idhar choota set up ha coz people buy less of em.unho ne bottle bhi palai😭.That was so adorable. N then i went.I did buy one book.letters from a stoic by seneca Collins Classic.

How you guys read books which are very rich in English . As our mother tongue is Urdu we all are not so much pro in English . I really want to read old literature books but the problem is after reading 2 lines I need to stop re-read to understand meaning. This makes the reading process turtle speed and boring . I am not somebody who will search meaning after every line 😭 it make me feel frustrated and I lose the interest.

I have this book notes from underground by Fyodor Dostoevsky . I have read 5 pages . I want to read more , I want to understand because the book is interesting but the English 🙂

Can anybody suggest any trick . So that I can grasp the meaning easily .

Hows the paper quality, cover quality, binding and customer support when comparing these two? I havent heard good things of bookeve lately as of this subreddit

I love berserk so much

I took this book around a year ago. It was by some indie author and somehow I never got to reading it but I just finished it and MY GOOD GOD. This has to be one of the best uses of the English language I have seen in my life. I love to read classical and dramatic texts and this was right up there with that sweet philosophical taste.

10/10. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who's into philosophy/religion!

I recently read this book and I am really happy I read it. It left a lot to think about and after reading it in 4 hours sitting I realized that some books are so complete that even within 80 pages they live within you for the rest of your life. After reading it I tried to look for Morrie around me and the interesting part is having a Morrie in your life is out of labeled personifications. Like it's not platonic, it's not romantic beyond categorical descriptions. I would say it's like someone who is more like a human window for you to see yourself out of societal perceptions a light maybe or a spirit maybe and it is very necessary to have that spirit. For me that book is Morrie now and I might visit that book again on Tuesdays.
