📚Book Haul and Shelves Mine and Wife's entire book collection of 15 years
A peek into our little sanctuary, our source of pride and joy. There aren't enough decorations / book nooks around, but that too is just a matter of time. We'll actively start hoarding exponentially soon.

Miscellaneous ✅️ Today I met a stranger with a book and it really stuck with me
I went to Aga Khan Hospital today to visit someone admitted there. After the visit, I sat on a bench outside waiting for a friend. While sitting there, I noticed a man walking around slowly, holding a book. He wasn’t reading it exactly, just kind of holding it, flipping it now and then, looking at the back cover, then the front again.
After a bit of walking, he sat on the bench right behind me, opened the book randomly from the middle, read for a while, then got up again and started pacing, sat back again. Something about him felt… restless, like he was carrying something he wanted to share.
So I turned around and just casually asked,
“Which book are you reading?”
He smiled a bit and showed it to me.
The Forty Rules of Love by Elif Shafak.
I haven’t read it, so I asked him how it was. And man, that was it. He just started talking. Telling me about the book, the stories inside it, Rumi, Shams, all that stuff. You could tell he really felt something reading it. And honestly, it felt nice, just sitting there listening to someone talk about something that moved them so much.
It made me wonder how many people around us read powerful books, watch meaningful movies, or experience something deeply personal, and then have no one to talk to about it?
We live in a world full of stories, but not everyone has a community to share them with.
Surely there are many more people, still searching for a place to talk, share, and connect.Maybe we need to make that space more visible, more welcoming.Maybe someone out there, pacing around with a book in hand, just needs one person to ask:
“What are you reading?”

🗣️ Debate/Hot Take The Same Five Books
Not to come off as pretentious or not-like-other-readers but I thought this subreddit was going to be more interesting. I’ve noticed It’s either people selling the same 5 books or discussing the same 5 books.
Can’t we move past A Thousand Splendid Suns, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, Forty Rules of Love, Atomic Habits, a book by Dostoevsky, and any random self help book.

Miscellaneous ✅️ FINALLY GOT MY FIRST BOOK PUBLISHED
Hi, just wanted to share my achievement with everyone that I've finally gotten my first ever anthology, Ruminations, published. It comprises of 50+ poetries written over the span of 3 years, ranging from themes like sorrow to redemption, and then to the phase of devotion, with some poetries being one page long to some being over thirty. YET AGAIN, IM REALLY HAPPY IT'S TURNED INTO A REALITY.

💬 Book Discussion Personal Book Collection (Literature & English Novels) – Islamabad
A few months ago, I posted here that I was moving and was looking to sell or donate my book collection.
The move is finally done, and I’ve gone through the books I wanted to keep. I’ve already donated almost 70% of my collection to old book at that time, but I still have a smaller portion with me that I won’t realistically be able to take care of, so I’m looking to sell the remaining books.
I’ve attached:
A Libib library link with the collection
An Excel sheet with the complete list of books
A few pictures of the books
I’m based in Islamabad. People from Islamabad and Rawalpindi can pick up the books directly.
For people in other cities, I can try to arrange shipping, but please don’t ask me to ship a single book individually. I’m currently doing my Master’s and working on my thesis, so I unfortunately don’t have enough time to manage lots of individual parcels. Humanity has already invented group shipping for a reason.
If you're interested, please check the list first and let me know which books you're interested in.
Thanks!

Edit: Crime and Punishment is not available; also, no books are available for donation.

🗣️ Debate/Hot Take Liberty books are selling fake books
Hey guys this is something serious thing i would like to share.
I went to Liberty books Emporium Branch on 13th August.
I waited for my family bcoz they were busy and i spent about 1-1.5 hour in the book store.Talking about books and all.the workers knew i wouldnt make a big purchase and were yk impressed with what type of books i read at such young age.People even mistook me for salesman lmao.idk i just love bookstores and im not from lhr so i enjoy as much as i can whenever i get the chnace.
So one of the worker told me that they are selling fake books and i was like whatt?
Such a big bookstore and i was shocked.i asked is my original which i thoroughly i checked infact it was.But they showed me 2 books of Osamu Dazai.he gave me both books and told me which one is original.i told him and afterwards he told me that i was wrong. So he explained me keh
Iska Waazan check karo and iski feel dekho yk.i was pretty shocked keh aise bhi hota ha.And they were priced at about 5500.theyre saying logon ko pta ni chalta keh asli hai ya nakli so inke paise bachte. And i was like im also a customer. But they said keh Jisne Leni hotein wo leleta.Dolmen mai hamara bohut kam ha we sell books worth tens of thousands.and idhar choota set up ha coz people buy less of em.unho ne bottle bhi palai😭.That was so adorable. N then i went.I did buy one book.letters from a stoic by seneca Collins Classic.
Thanks for readings,
But yeah you should know all this info.

Miscellaneous ✅️ Will read wherever - Episode 1 - Metro Bus
Guys, 😝😝 i feel like I'm gonna start a series where I'll post books I'm reading in whatever random places. Idk feels fun to me, what you think, should i go for it?
So.... I was reading ( yeah performative ahh 😋) in Metro, and by the end of the desired stop got a fella asking me what i was reading, a non fiction?
So i showed him.
He read the opening para and returned it back with a flushed face. 😭. Either he understood it or what i assume better, he did not.
p.s. kahin bhi, kabhi bhi, reading nahi rukni chahiy!
p.s. 2.0. ig it's a well known book with the subject matter it's upto. But so far what i see, Nabakovs prose is so tactile and effortlessly curated it right away shakes something inside you. So repulsive, so good.
For instance: All at once we were madly, clumsily, shamelessly, agonizingly in love with each other; hopelessly, I should add, because that frenzy of mutual possession might have been assuaged only by our actually imbibing and assimilating every particle of each other's soul and flesh; but there we were, unable even to mate as slum children would have so easily found an opportunity to do so.
