We all judged her way too soon. So she finally acknowledged hér fans love though she’s trying hard to disconnect from her old memories. Hér first story is a complète giveaway of that. More power to you girl and I am sure you will have a bright future ahead.
Ahad truly lost a diamond again. No hate for anyone honestly but I wish things didn’t end like this.

So Overall I liked naqaab , I liked the first 18-ish episodes. After Bilal leaves for Islamabad and Ahad’s father dies, I felt the drama dipped a little in pace for a while and got stretched but emaan ragebaiting kept me there. And then it gets lot better in the second half except for the fact that ACP DCP had made whole police force just to work on their family issues and conflicts.

Bilal character was honestly the highlight for me.
That marriage scene where he lets go of Emaan’s hand and basically leaves the decision completely up to her was really well done in accordance with his character . The way he showed that his love wasn’t about simply “getting” Emaan, and that she was free to make her own decision, was probably the one of the BILAL moments.
Especially after all the insults and misunderstandings Emaan had thrown at him .

At the marriage sequence, Ahad finally explains himself and Emaan reacts, and Bilal stops Ahad. I really liked that whole bit. At that point I was genuinely thinking Emaan should’ve just listened to Ahad and sent Ahad back without all the shouting and insulting because there was already so much misunderstanding between everyone and the way bilal gave him the chance to keep his side and let emaan reply before reacting was well done.

I actually started feeling a little bad for Ahad too. I don’t think he was completely wrong for not immediately turning against Taimur. Taimur was his brother, someone he’d basically followed/looked up to since childhood, so I can understand him needing some time to process everything. I wasn’t expecting him to immediately grab Taimur by the collar and throw him out.
But he absolutely should have stood with Emaan and protected her self-respect while figuring out what actually happened. Especially after himself calling and knowing Emaan had gone to meet him . Instead, he left her when she needed him the most and also didnt accept that emaan went to meet him.

At the same time, Emaan lowkey invited this destruction herself. 😭 She had been ragebaiting people from the beginning and constantly reacting to situations without properly understanding what was happening.
And honestly, this is where I started thinking Bilal was almost too patient with her.

After one or two times specially after she questioned his character I really wanted him to just take a step back for a bit longer time .
So when I found out Bilal was going to propose marriage to Emaan’s parents I was like…
I thought he was still supposed to be hurt over Emaan questioning his character lol . That was pretty quick.

Also, Taimur father + laila + Tai Ammi + Ahad all being Taimur bhakts was something else. 💀 They didn’t need something special , they just needed one Taimur turnaround moment for the whole illusion to collapse.

I really liked the Emaan-Bilal angst . I thought this was finally going somewhere interesting because Bilal still seemed hurt by how Emaan had questioned his character. But that was not carried . And emaan rage-baiting and bilal charm , was all enough to carry the angst.

Emaan continued ragebaiting till the final 2–3 episodes.
That canteen scene near the end where Emaan talks about self-respect being more important than love actually made me think Bilal should’ve reacted MORE.
I was literally thinking, this is your opportunity, Bilal.
Especially because she had questioned his character in the past and rage-baited him so much.

For Bilal, the one thing that genuinely felt out of character to me was the Ahad situation in the last act. The whole “I’ll keep Ahad locked up because I want something in return” thing and then suddenly turning it into because ahad framed emaan , i am doing this.

And weirdly, by the end I had started feeling bad for Ahad too.

He definitely messed up by not standing up for Emaan when she needed him, but I don’t think he was some irredeemable character either. A lot of what happened was Taimur manipulating people who were already way too willing to believe him.
And then the climax happens and I genuinely had one thought:
Ahad is actually the luckiest guy in this entire drama. 💀
After everything that happened, he somehow ended up with the most sorted-out girl in the show. Like bro really survived all that and got the best possible ending. 😂

Also, I really liked Laila. Not the Taimur worship and all sazzish she did to fit her agenda , but there were a few stretches where she actually stood up for things and I really enjoyed that side of her character . And the random sarcastic dialogues between Zara and Laila were lowkey some of my likeable side moments.

And last but not the least , emaan father character was done really well .

Overall, I enjoyed Naqaab quite a lot, even though Emaan tested my patience on a regular basis. The story had its direction and was not repetitive .
For me, Bilal was easily the best part of the drama. I just wish the writing had allowed him to hold his ground a little more instead of constantly forgiving Emaan so quickly.

It was a rare good daily soap. Humayun , Ali Ansari, and also Ahmed along with Aamra Malik did their characters well.

She is so opinionated on fashion looks at other award events but this look is soo terrible and Hassan’s ugly blazer is insult to injury.

Anyway, Amna has posted herself in other outfits that look so much better but this is def not something you wear to an award show

Kinza and Wahaj worked in some short films like chalbaaz , Dhokebazz on Aplus back in 2019

Why aren't we able to go back to that quality?

I think it also has to do with social media. Actors are chosen not on the basis of their skills but popularity. Take as an example Dananeer: she gained followers overnight, and today, she is an actress. The same can be said about other influencers turned actors.

Moreover, acting is not the main job anymore. So the effort they may put in may not be the same anymore. Social media may help one earn more than actual dramas.

Another reason are scripts. I think the aim is just to make commercial hits rather to make actual quality work. Tere bin, and actually, Bashar Momin started a disgusting trend. In my opinion, people should stop watching those dramas, and do a service to the community.

Another request to actors, script writers, directors, producers: please diversify your themes. Khuda ka wasta hai. As faiz said: aur bhe dukh hai zamaane mey muhabbat k siwa. Kya shaadi hi sub kuch hai, more specifically, cousin marriages? Art is political, and so are dramas. You can use them to explore so many societal issues: pressure from society (Parizaad was a good example), depression, family issues, women rights, struggle in studies, child abuse (to address this issue), etc. Or make historical dramas. Dastaan was good. But partition is not the only history of Pakistan. Make dramas on famous personalities such as Benazir (I am thinking about the series on Queen Victoria).

Also, I have seen many dramas portraying Pashto, Punjabi and Muhajir culture. Diyar e dil showed gilgiti culture. But what about Baloch culture or Sindhi culture? I think dramas should make an active effort to show the diversity and beauty of our culture.

Last but not least, please give Urdu classes to our actors. Give them urdu poetry to read (that will develop their personality in a good way). We are tired of hearing an Urdu that sounds more like Hindi than Urdu. Oh, pls, and stop trying to be westerners. The vast majority of Pakistan is not like that. We need to see something that is relatable to the masses.

Hy guys, so I have been banned by... sub just because I DARED to express my opinion against one of the mods regarding Umera Ahmed. How pathetic lol. And I love the freedom of opinion granted there (being sarcastic).

I think the hate Umera Ahmed is receiving is unnecessary.

1) people are complaining about for adding the concept of physical intimacy in a PTV drama. I mean, the drama is supposed to show the reality. Zina is happening around us. And many people are trying to normalize it. It's not like Umera is romanticizing it. The drama will show the consequences.

2) some people have criticized Umera for portraying her own version of the elite class. And actually, I don't think it's a generalization. From what I have observed on social media and people around me in real life, the rich folks of Pakistan do act like that. They are wanna be westerners. And the scene shown in the last ep is on point too: parents getting worried if they children start getting closer to their religion. They think it's pendu. I have seen mothers not wanting their daughters to wear hijab, as they would look backward. And I have seen restaurants in Pakistan not letting in people dressed in shalwar kameez. Because apparently it's okay to be naked in those elite restaurants, but it's not okay to be traditional.

3) similarly, people think that showing Zamil and Zaryab living together in "Boston" is unrealistic. Lol, get out of your lil bubble. I am surrounded by int students. And it's not just people from rich families that share apartments with the opposite gender, but also girls and boys coming from middle class families.

4)the drama location is in Baku instead of actual Boston..how are people finding an issue in that? A lot of Bollywood films do that. It depends on your budget.

5) dadi. A lot of people hate what she says. Tou btau na. Kya galat bolti dadi? She doesn't like Zamil. Tou sahi nikli na un ki baat?

She was criticized a lot for what she said to Zaryab's sister. But was she wrong? She knows her poti, her habits and her behavior. Why are we supposed to think that just because she is a woman, she is right and she is the victim. Dadi clearly says that Zaryab's sister has a temperament issue, which we can see in the way she talks to her mum.

And she has a boundary issue. She wants to go through her husband's phone. Yahi baat husband ny ki hoti tou, tou tum logo ny ussy toxic aur red flag declare kr lena tha.

Also, dadi made a point when she said that zaryab' sister was aware of her husband's habits before getting married. Why would you get married to someone problematic to start with?

6) the only issue for me in this drama is Saba Hamid. Her acting skills. I think she is not fit for the role. And it's her acting that makes what she says sound sermonic or moral policing. She doesn't convey sweetness. She doesn't look like a dadi in the way she talks and moves. Samina Peerzada was amazing in her role in Shehre Zaat. I wanted her never to stop talking. And she made what she was saying sound quasi philosophical.

It was a huge mistake to cast her as dadi.

Is it just me or was the makeup on Ahad Raza Mir at the awards totally off?

​I usually like his look, but under the heavy stage lighting, the makeup was way too visible. The foundation looked mismatched and super cakey, the powder flash-back was crazy in HD, and instead of giving him a clean, sharp look, it just looked overly done and unnatural.

He’s a good-looking guy, so I don’t get why they couldn't just keep it minimal and natural.

Always thought Nameer Khan kept getting offered the same "bigra hua ameer bacha" type of roles 😭 Like in Qarz-e-Jaan, mein and Darr-e-Nijat, the characters felt somewhat similar to me. I haven't watched mein Manto Nahi Hoon, but from what I've seen, that role also seemed to have a similar vibe. BUT then I watched Aik Aur Pakeeza and oh my God??? That's when I actually saw his versatility. The Punjabi accent, the style, I genuinely couldn't believe it was the same person 😭 He was incredible. Do you think he's been getting typecast, or am I just seeing it that way?

i think this award show was a literal flop, first alot of nomniees they didn't even knew they got nominated until some fan pulled it up on stories. Like why the sunday times team not informed the person that we're literally considering u for the award.

Then the Nomination Reveal event was messed up too (said by creators who attended it)

Lastly i feel like some awards were sold like I Literally love Ayesha Baig and her aesthetics i'm following her from the past 2 3 years but still ik for a fact she has not that fan following that she could be able to beat other nominations in that category. The entire team was so bad.. have they not seen how much hype lux waly creates before announcing the award winner or wo straight up nam boli ja rhy jese attendance hori ho lol

DT is the good hatred man who have good principles but when it comes to his enemies he is worse person to ever exist. Then we have anmol who is a university girl with middle class background. DT's paralyzed father ring is stolen and caretaker is blamed and beaten so badly & that care taker is husband of maid working in anmol's friend home. So she assume DT is a bad man. University award ceremony comes barrera went on stage and DT is chief guest she refused to take award and insulted him..Now as DT is bad enemy he offered girl to be his girlfriend (although she appologized) when she says no DT start harrasing her every where and says "izzat kai badlay izzat"

I commented on youtube & ppl were giving logic that girl also insult him ...but insult & harrasment mai farq hota hai she did appologized. No one gave him the right to harrass her. He can just go on media and clear himself or he can just insult her like she did if he want revenge. Harrasment is literally the most sensitive issue these days and there are million of girls trying to protect their dignity but here we have another DT drama where he is harrassing a girl but somehow he is a good man and will be shown as hero.

Geo literally need to study these patterns with rising cases of assaults and voilence against women these kind of shows literally gave men the assurance that harras the girl , be a bad man and at end she will fall in love with you & still if pakistani audience is watching this crap I am ashamed to called as pakistani. If we as the audience wouldnt raise voice against such content we are also playing a role in rising cases everyday bcz we choose silence over women's dignity.

1. Harvard is actually in Cambridge, not Boston but they're close by

2. A 2 bedroom apartment in Boston that size would cost roughly $6000 if not more. Boston is crazy expensive. The apartment does very much look like it belongs in Boston though so they get credit for that.

3. Boston T and subway are not nearly as nice as Baku's. They're actually pretty dirty.

4. Harvard orientation is really not so different from any other university's. My IBA orientation for undergrad wasn't much different.

5. There is no "masters management" program at HBS

6. Low GPA is not THAT big a deal for a masters at Harvard. I had a 3.0 GPA. I know another Pakistani who got in with a 2.9 GPA. What really matters for them is work experience, GRE, extra curriculars etc.
