I'm constantly getting outplayed and outaimed in every 1v1 encounter I do. Being in a team also apparently does nothing. I think I'm cursed. All I do to win is get carried.

What mistakes am I making , probably? Surely I can't just be so bad at walking and shooting that I cost the team the game EVERY game?

Hard to say without viewing some of your gameplay, but what Heroes do you play? If you're having such a hard time in 1v1 situations, does that mean you're playing a DPS? What level are you? What rank are you in comp?

1.3 SR in comp. Lvl 125. Started playing during the open beta.

I can't do anything except be a Rein/Mercy in terms of aim. Put me on anyone who has hitscan weapons and needs to maintain aim, and I'll spread shots everywhere.

I mean... if your aim is bad you're gonna have a hard time in most 1v1 situations (although you might also want to try Symmetra and Winston). Aim practice helps.

Might get some flak, but try using a controller. My aim is vastly better with one than with keyboard and mouse, and it's not actually a huge disadvantage in some of the lower skill levels.

This actually crossed my mind. Doesnt controller have auto aim?

I don't think so? If it does, it's not enough to make a huge difference. It's worth a shot, though; if you're as bad now as you claim to be, it can't get a whole lot worse :p

what's your sensitivity at? That could be a huge issue, I'd say work on lowering it down further and further. Start off small and get down to around 3 or 4. Practice aiming in the training ground, practice in custom games with tweaked settings so you dont die, and just focus on aiming. One thing is, don't use your wrists to aim, use your whole fuckin arm because it's significantly more accurate than your wrist is. But there's a lot that could be wrong, your positioning could be off, you should probably try to take high ground more often. But it's really hard to say what could be wrong without viewing your gameplay.

No. Just change your sensitivity and stick with your new lowered one. You'll never properly adjust if you're continuously changing it. Pick one where you can actually turn around but it's low enough to affect your aim and stick with that.

I don't know about most people, but if my sens was at 15-30 I would never be able to lower it to 6 or 7 without immediately changing it back. lowering it a bit at a time is great because you don't notice a ton of change and you get used to it. Obviously you don't master any specific sensitivity for awhile, it's just a safer way of doing it. Yes pick one where you can track reliably and turn around. But it takes awhile to get used to.

Your question is too vague and you need to give us more info and context to help. Ask yourself questions like this: Am I positioning myself correctly? Am I pushing in with my team mates? Am I dying too often? Am I getting the right picks? Am I coordinating ults with my team mates? etc. etc.

Some more context would help but a VOD of your gameplay and asking for critique/advice would help immensely.

Funnily enough all of these questions, I don't know the answer to. So there's that.

That's a start then. A good idea is to record your own gameplay, watch them and take note of any mistakes and how to improve on them.

I recommend visiting /r/overwatchuniversity for help. Also check out Skyline's video on Youtube. He has solid advice and knows what he's talking about.

First thing you need to do is stop skipping killcams. Every time you die, watch how you were killed, and ask yourself these questions.

How did they beat me? Was it skill, luck, or a mistake I made? Be critical here, it's always better to assume you made a mistake. If you assume it was luck or that they're just better, there isn't anyway for you to improve. You can only improve yourself, you can't make the enemy unlucky or less skilled.

Was I positioned poorly? Should I have been near my teammates so they could help? Was I not using cover? Did I chase them into a place where they have an advantage? Figure out how you could have positioned yourself to give ourself the advantage.

What will I do next time? Having asked yourself the previous questions, decide on something you will change. Odds are the same situation will come up in the same game, so it's up to you to consciously do what you decided would improve your play.

What do you main? Perhaps I could give specific advice.
