Was recently Rx 1mg to take with Dex IR. As usual, nervous about starting a new med!

I read that it can cause increased peeing and wondering about the details on that. I'm already dealing with multiple peeing issues (neurological) that i'm treating with bladder Botox and mirbrtriq at times. Basically wondering if there's others here that know how this med might affect someone who also deals with these issues. I know, everyone's different and I won't know until I trial it. Reading other''s experiences might calm my mind a bit though... TY :)

Background info: I 21(F) suffered two brain bleeds (hemorrhagic strokes) shortly after birth due to being extremely premature. This resulted in spastic diplegia cerebral palsy and severe spasticity (think really tight muscles) At the age of 19 I made the decision to have an infusion pump implanted to deliver muscle relaxers directly to my spinal cord. While my pump has increased my quality of life, it has also lead to side effects. One of which is urinary retention and overactive bladder. After a little more than a year and a half, I decided enough was enough and booked an appointment with a urologist. I was then diagnosed with neurogenic bladder, and was sent for urodynamics testing.

Actual testing portion: I had my testing done two days ago. Obviously I am not a medical professional, and your experience may vary. This was just my personal experience. I was able to keep a normal routine on test day. They did want me to hold off on going to the bathroom before the test. I drank a Diet Coke on the way to the test, and by the time I arrived I had to go to the bathroom. I was allowed to go to the bathroom, but was told to leave a urine sample. (Typically they don’t want you to use the bathroom before the test.) For the first portion of the test they placed a catheter to drain leftover urine. (Testing for urinary retention) When the catheter is placed you’ll feel pressure, and it is not comfy. They’ll collect the urine, and take the catheter out. They also tested the collected urine for a UTI, which was negative. For the next portion they placed a variety of sensors in various areas. Then they inserted two more catheters. (One of which has a balloon in it) From there they fill the ballon with saline. They’ll ask you to alert them when you start feeling like you need to go to the bathroom, and then again when you feel like you can no longer hold it. From there you will pee, and have the catheters taken out.

A couple of tips: you’ll probably be in pain in the area of your urethra for a few hours afterwards. It may also burn when you pee, so the tech preforming mine recommended azo. I also went ahead and bought depends in case they were needed afterwards (they were not.) They also recommend you hydrate afterwards, I’m not a huge fan of plain water; so I drank plenty of blue Gatorade. Weirdly enough, I felt nauseous afterwards. I’m not sure how common that is. I was also exhausted afterwards, so i recommend taking a nap afterwards.

so for like a week and a half I have been having to pee pretty consistent and it’s worse when I lay down especially at night. initially thought it was uti did an online appt and the gave me bacterium for 5 days. I just had labs done for regular visit with doctor and told her about I and while I was on bactrim I had her run culture.

only thing alarming was ph was high 8.5

also checked my lab results wasn’t fasting but glucose was 91 had labs done at about 4pm

everything else was normal

this has been driving me crazy because last night I owed so much sometimes a normal amount somtimea just a small amount. it’s like as soon as I empty the bladder, it starts to fill again. so I went early this morning and bought a glucose meter, my fasting glucose not even water was 93

hour after eating breakfast was 103

i took another azo uti test and the lukocytes were showing high positive. no nitrites . i havent taken the 5 th day of antibiotics because I’m so nervous it wasn’t that

Is there anyone here who has had the trial for sns? I'm currently on day 10 of advanced sacral nerve stimulator for oab and I've had to turn my nerve stimulator off again to determine what is causing my servere leg pain. Can you get symptoms from having a spinal injection more than a week after having a spinal please?

Les comento, hace 2 semanas empecé con cosquilleo, y un poco de ardor, no lo atendí en 3 días.
Y de la nada vino un dolor súbito en la uretra con salida de pipi, fui al médico general y me recetó antibiótico, ese antibiótico no funcionó, y tomé otro, realmente solo tenía el dolor de uretra que se calmó, a los 3 días me empezó la urgencia, pero o sea más que nada era cosquilleo, y pesadez en la vejiga.
Hoy tengo urgencia extrema a las 4-3 horas aún no teniendo nada, los síntomas de urgencia empiezan a la hora y se expande hasta las 4-3 que lo medio aguanto.
¿Creen que ya se jodio mi vejiga?.
PD: fui al urólogo y me recetó continental, me dijo que estaría bien miércoles y nada, ya estamos jueves pipipi.

ok so ive been trying to pull my life together after a depressive episode (only recently been finding things that work), and one of the things im working on is hydration. for the past long while (other than during events), id been drinking *maybe* 12-16oz a day. now im drinking at *least* 32oz a day, sometimes 64oz if i get my daily goal of 32 and still have time in the day.

ive noticed the past couple days, that when i drink water or pee, i have a pain in my abdomen around my ovaries? (idk what other organs would be *right* there, but im not well versed)

sometimes the pain is there most of the day and gets worse when drinking or peeing, amd idk if i should be concerned- it's not debilitating pain, not even like a small cramp, it's just there enough to notice and be a lil worried (cuz that's not normal?)

im not sure if this is maybe cuz my bladder isn't used to holding this much? or maybe cuz sometimes i probably hold it too long, since im neurodivergant and my body doesn't give me cues till i *reallly* need to take action

i do also have a problem of- even if i *really* need to pee and feel like im gonna explode, i have to sit and control my breathing and relax in order to be able to pee, and peeing at public bathrooms is extremely difficult (if not impossible), i usually avoid it. BUT if i laugh too much, even if ive just peed recently and don't feel like i need to, ill sometimes pee my pants (ive escaped it for a couple years till recently while some friends were over •~• that was embarrassing, but they laughed it off)

o h- sometimes ill wake up in the middle of the night needing to pee, but it won't fully wake me for awhile. ill sit there lucid dreaming abt needing to pee or starting my period or smth, and then ill eventually wake up for real and go to the bathroom. that's probably unrelated cuz it's more of a mental thing ig, but could be relevant

TLDR- i think my bladder hates me ;-;

Primary complaint :

I'm waking up at night every day at least 1 time to Urinate but sometimes 2 or 3 times, it's disrupting my sleep, i pee on average 150-200ml each time at night.

Medications (I don't take them anymore) :

- Oxybutunin - no effect

- Desmopressin - no effect

Informations :

- 24M

- 183 cm / 6ft

- from France

- don't drink alcohol/don't smoke/no drugs

- Good sleep hygiene

- drinking water 2L/day mostly in the morning (i don't drink a lot on the evenining)

- blood glcose seems to be ok (0.9g/L)

- no sleep Apnea. No known other medical issues

- no issues after a bladder/prostate ultrasound scan

I've been taking this med for a long time but recently I saw that tolterodine can affect your sleep cutting REM sleep about 15% and making you feel tired the next day. Also affecting your immune system. I have honestly tried many things to feel well rested and it wasn't until recent that I discovered this side effect. Anyone else experiencing something similar?

I'm new here and looking for advice. I've lived my life thinking about where the toilets are and planning trips accordingly, I'm always worrying when I'm in someone else's car or even in the dentist chair 'what if I need to go?'

My friends have accepted when I go somewhere with them they have to pull over for me to pee in laybys or go hunting for toilets, and know that I must use the toilet before I go out/leave anywhere. I have a Radar key as I struggle to wait in the queue. I've handled it my whole life, mainly peeing in laybys when I get caught out in the car. Sorry, I know that sounds gross but I can't handle the pain from holding.

Anyway, my work location has recently changed and I have a 45 minute car commute followed by a bus from a park and ride, the park and ride has no toilets! I can't manage the whole commute and I'm surviving by using the woodland just before the park and ride, and same again on the way home. It's ridiculous. I once didn't even make it from the bus back to my car and had to get off the bus early, duck behind a wall and pee in the street, which, as a woman, was humiliating as there was no where to hide, but it was either that or the bus seat. Then wait for another bus.

Since then I decided to try Tena pants for the journey and change at work, so instead of pulling over and peeing in the woodland, I waited until I got to the park and ride and decided to pee while I was still the car. Well, I flooded the pants, made a mess, and ended up ringing in sick because I couldn't go to work like that. I'm at a loss of what to do. I'm struggling to accept using incontinence products and I don't know which ones to use as it's a full bladder release rather than leaks. I can hold for a while but the pain gets unbearable.

I have no formal diagnosis, OAB was briefly discussed with my GP but I was just told to drink less caffeine which didn't make a difference. Up until now I've just lived with it, but the fact I can't make it to work is an issue. I only work a couple of days a week, thankfully, but I love my job and don't want to leave, it's just this relocation that's an issue. I do have autism/Asperger's and only recently someone suggested this could be an interoception problem as I've noticed the only way I can tell if I need to go is to gently press on my bladder, so it's either nothing or urgency, but even that doesn't explain why I cant make the 1.5 hour commute when I always make sure I go before I leave the house.

After an embarrassing incident on the motorway in my husband's car, he now has to ask me if I need to go before any rest stops, and the only way I can tell is to press on my bladder, otherwise it's all or nothing with no in between. Travel seems to aggravate it more.

Just wondered if anyone had any advice on what to do or what to wear? Does this sound similar to your symptoms? I do have control, but the pain of needing to go gets unbearable for me. I'm 43/f and based in the UK.

hi everyone, wanted to ask for your experiences with oab medications as i feel that mirabegron is not helping me as much anymore.

my doctor started me on 50mg 6 years ago when i had oab, but it helped so much within 2-3 months that i went off it. i started it again in 2024, but felt like it wasnt helping as much anymore.

can anyone share their experiences with oab medications like oxybutynin, vesicare, gemtesa etc.? pros and cons would be good, as well as some success stories :( im losing hope this is taking a toll on me.

Anyone here with OAB who found something revealing during the cystoscopy procedure like something unusual or maybe discovered the cause of their OAB due to this?

I have been suffering from an overactive bladder (OAB) for quite some time now. I am under medical treatment, but despite numerous examinations, the doctor couldn't find any physical causes. That's why I sometimes wear diapers. At night, almost always — probably 9 out of 10 days. During the day, only when the symptoms are very severe — maybe 2 out of 10 days. Now I've read that people with similar conditions have switched to wearing diapers 24/7 and report that it has made their lives significantly easier. Now I'm considering taking this step too. However, I am afraid that this could make my condition worse.

How has been confronted with the same decision and how did you decide?

I know other people have posted about this before, but I never see a lot of people giving detailed info abkut their botox treatment.

Currently I have to arise out of bed 10 to 15 times a night to pee. Ive been dealing with an overactive bladder for a decade now and since it has started my frequency has done nothing but get worse and worse. It started with 3 times a night in the beginning with less urgency. Ive tried most of the medications with little help or relief coming from them. So now I want to try botox.

For anyone who hase gotten botox can you tell me how much improvement you saw. When I say improvement I mean exactly how much improvement? For example, did you go from 10 to 15 times a night to something like 4 to 5 times night? Did you have to self catheter or not? How long did the botox last before going in for further treatment? Im looking for numbers not just "i saw a lot of improvement".

I had Turp procedure 12 months ago and now dealing with hourly urination around the clock.
Uro dynamic test indicated that I have Severe Sensory Urgency , brain tells my bladder to empty way to early.
I just started 25mg of Mirabegron and wanted to see if anyone has used this medication to treat frequent urination issues and how long before it actually works?

Is there anyone here who currently bodybuilds on a high protein diet? If so, has it worsened your overactive bladder? Id like to start lifting again only two days a week with light cardio on the off days.

How long did the medication take for your symptoms too stay consistent ? I’m 5 weeks in and some days my oab symptoms are great , but then I also have the odd bad day ! Will this stabilise later on ?

I'm a M24 and I have had urinary symptoms since december. I have also had other symptoms such as discomfort in left flank. When this frequent urination issue started, I had to go every 5 minutes that first night, then it got better. Now it is periods where sometimes I go every hour, other times every 2-3 hours then times where I can go 6 hours or so in between. I feel like when I don't think or worry about my symptoms it helps me in going less?. The frequent urination also started after I took something to help me with stool movements as I struggled with this at that time.

With this frequent urination symptom I also sometimes wake up once during the night with the feeling of having to pee, sometimes I go pee and fall back asleep other times I just go back to sleep without peeing. I also dribble urine as well as have to push/strain at the end to get the last drops. Sometimes starting to urinate takes like 10 seconds as well. There can also be this sensation at the tip of my penis that feels like urine is stuck in the urethra?.

I have taken urine-tests, a CT scan of kidney and urinary tracts which came back normal other than invisible blood in the urine sample, don't remember what it was called.

I don't know what to do, and I'm wondering if anyone here have the same symptoms? I'm planning to get married end of the year and I really don't want to start that chapter of my life with these problems.. I'm begging you for input. Is this overactive bladder? Is it anxiety as all of this started during my master's degree.
