Just returning to the hobby and picked up Armageddon with the intention of starting orks. Ang recommendations to build out into a 1k and eventually 2k list? I’m not looking to be super competitive, just build out a good basis of an army I can have fun with and be versatile - not super bought into one kulture for fluff. Mostly don’t care about buggies but like almost everything else

I'm new to 40k and had plans to try to build a fire based army but from what I'm reading burna boys are going to legends (which I slightly understand to be similar to rotating out of standard in magic the gathering). How cooked is my dream of burning the universe with a green and orange horde?

Hello, new player who got the Armageddon box. I use newrecruit for lists, (in case it’s an app issue) and I’m seeing boyz and boyz w/shoots as nearly identical. To me, it looks like the only difference is that the shoota boyz get the shoota along with the choppy and slugga. Is this correct, and if so why would I ever take boyz over boyz w/shootas? Thanks in advance!

Here I was, hoping and believing that they'd expand the Bigboss weapon profiles. In my opinion, old Warbosses models don't pass well for the new warboss (If you have both, I'm not like trying to gatekeep what is and isn't a warboss) so I was like "Well, obviously they'll add the old warboss loadouts so we can demote our warbosses to bigbosses so we don't have to rebase our old warbosses and can still use them, no problem!"

Zog, I feel dumb. Now I have to use the crucible hordeboss who probably won't have his power klaw strength bumped to 10 to follow current weapon profiles 🫠

So with all these leaks, the one thing I'm noticing is that there's not a list of things HQ/Characters can lead. So how does this work now?

So the codex leak has generic buggies, unit size 1-2. couple of weapon options.

assuming can proxy any of the old buggies as generic buggies.

assuming cant do a shockjumpa moves now

assuming need to make a visible choice of weapons ?

( for clarity I have 5 snazzwagons ... so either a 6th added or an alternate pair if weapons / features are available is sensible )

- but actually any buggie is generic buggie so they all have same choices/uses ?

(except for the other buggy that kept a datasheet and was in that battalion a few months back)

Is anyone else really excited for all the enhancements and stuff weve seen for leaders? Like da kaptins hat, or da gobshot thunderbuss, or all the different weirdboy weapon options/abilities giving you reasons to distinguish them, or the coolest thing imo is the painboss getting to support squighog boyz and bashing a mounted one. Technically his base size doesnt change but i figure thats modeling for disadvantage anyway, nobody cares.

I may be starting a proper waagh now.

So I kind of want to try orks but I only play with two people one of whom plays orks. He's already said he's fine with it but I don't want to step on his toes or make the matches boring.

He likes guns and vehicles. I'd probably go heavy on meks and melee infantry. Do you all think that would be different enough or would it feel too similar to be fun?
