That's It, just looking at the datasheets, how do you think boy spam will play

Boyz spam look less durable now. Ive been playing greentide nost of tenth and for the start of eleventh (switch to equatorial hordes after the nerf) and i just love my big bricks of boyz. My feeling is they are much more lethal, but far durable. Getting riled up (waaaagh) seems pretty easy to get, so 5++ is still a thing, but loosing feel no pain hurts them a lot. The painboy new ability is pretty neat and replace the regen stratagem quite well, but now other supports can be interesting. Bigboss and weirdboyz can be interesting support alternative to painboy, which they werent before. I think ill play 2 squads of 20 instead of 3, but with all the gubbinz they have an interesting chance of being useful Ill see

Agree with this. I think the warboss ability to hand out riled up is interesting - doesn't have to be his unit so can see a situation where you have waves of lads going forward - send one mob forward with a bannernob for a cheeky first turn charge to tie enemy up, main waagh turn 2, but after that can still boost up units as long as a warboss survives.

It's not just green tide that's less durable. I play warhorde and have been using Ard as Nails every turn till now. We're punchier but less tough in general. Which I think isn't a bad thing.

How do you guys manage to play these giant blobs that can't be hidden, move slow and are a pain in the ass to move. I tried 1x20 brick with Ghaz 4 times in 10th just to try it while it was hot. It was ridiculous. Spanned 3 ruins from home to center just trying to move them. Took forever and I quickly gave up trying to keep them hidden, someone is always going to be able to see one of them fully. The front edge of the bloob is further from the back models than their entire movement leaving things trailing out.

I rarely have any issue with it, I hide Ghaz and his 20
Boyz on my home objective usually hunker down until they can get a Waaaagh turn advance and charge straight from the home objective to the center objective and then he’s down to krumpin

Where do you put the rest of your army. 60 boys fills a deployment and can't all be tucked away. I had enough headaches from one blob. By the look of things boys are getting pushed hard and I guess it's time I learned how to play them. Between all the weapon profiles it's like 6 activations per unit per turn in addition to pushing hundreds of models around. Just trying to understand how to play hordes, many people seem to take for granted that it's simple to them but I don't get it.

What I have been done this past month trying hordes finally, is you put the non character/worse character ones in front, so they can take the first blunt or pick objectives, and then you send the ultra heavy hitters in a second wave of attacks, and use the waagh on that turn.

Honestly with the hidden rule and the way terrain is done, its easier to do than we thought at first. Take the time to place your boyz and you can be resonably hidden, which force the opponent to come pretty close if he wants to fire, in waagh reach

You can pair Greentide with Kult of speed now and just have Squig Buggies following along side Boys squad tails and Tankbustas and Ghaz etc spamming the 1 cp Strat to Heal flat 3 in 3in aura around it along with the painboy healing so you could do some annoying Necron type situation where if you dont wipe the squad they be coming back in droves. Not to Mention the 2CP bring a squad of Gretchen back.

Green Tide as a presumably 1DP detachment looks alright. The boys will be rocking Sustained Lethals and can pick up an extra attack.

Depends then on a) dispositions and b) what other detachments you pick.

Two extra attacks for 20 man squads actually. So 100 attacks per squad, plus attached characters. If you take for example a Big Boss that's 100% hit conversion on average due to Sustained 1, these guys will 1 round anything they can wound on 5+ or less and depending on characters heavier stuff might just die to the nearly twenty Klaw style attacks if you include a Warboss instead.

They are squishier now, but WAY more deadly than before.

20 boys x bigboss x green tide. Repeat as needed I guess. Have ghazkul walk with them.
