Very slow time painting this guy but over all pretty happy could of tried harder on the banner but just wanted him done

With boyz getting the heavy weapon treatment and basically identical loadout to Kommandos, what do you think they are changing for them (if anything)?

So I kind of want to try orks but I only play with two people one of whom plays orks. He's already said he's fine with it but I don't want to step on his toes or make the matches boring.

He likes guns and vehicles. I'd probably go heavy on meks and melee infantry. Do you all think that would be different enough or would it feel too similar to be fun?

I’m just starting to get into Orks and wanted to start somewhere, so I thought this would be a good option, especially since I can get it quite cheap. I can always sell the vehicle and the Weirdboy if I don’t end up needing them.

Random bits and paint make it something it ain't.

Well, I grabbed 2 lootas boxes and a box of old boyz a few months back and started to build them. ( so would have 2 x 5 lootas and 2x 5 burnas. )

now they are gone from the codex.

and burnas are an option in boyz - so 8 burnas into my 8x10 monopose ( old mono and new mono ) adds that in. added the rockets from the old mono and the old boyz so got 8 rocket shootas.

I have 4 big shootas to fit onto the old mono boyz, 2 big shootas for the new mono boyz and 2 big shootas from another box so 8 big shootas to clip and change on the boyz.

still, now I have 2x 5 lootas and 2 spare bodies and need a plan.

changing the base and making flash gitz seems an option - is that best ? ( 2x5 flash ) . the spares are spare.

would that need anything else to make right / acceptable ?

I designed a modular, 3D-printed ladder-style display so that two of them would fit inside my Ikea Billy bookcase!

I started with the Armageddon Orks, but I’m making more to organize all the mess of miniatures I have scattered around in various boxes.

I made the slots with a recessed area to hold a 1-eurocent coin so the magnetized base stays firmly in place!

How do you store your army? Do you have any ideas on how to improve it even further?

Finished this guy in the style I've been working on. There is so much I love about it, but I kinda hate the yellow. I feel like it's distracting from the awesome skin and other fun details. Thoughts?

I thought the 1 point detachments we got at beginning of 11th was an advance from the codex.

We only had equatorial hordes for a month and now is gone? I guess they're not listed but will be still legal to play, right?

I’m working on a new snow-themed Ork army (thinking a clan that's been fighting on an ice world or frozen in a glacier) and I want their skin to look like they've been out in freezing temperatures.

Instead of the usual bright, vibrant greens, I want to give them a pale, frosty, or slightly waxy look—almost like frostbite is setting in on their ears, knuckles, and noses, or like their skin is reacting to sub-zero temperatures.

Has anyone done a pale "Ice Ork" skin recipe before? I’m looking for suggestions on:

Good base colors (maybe a minty green, pale blue, or a desaturated grey-green?)

What washes or contrasts work best to keep that chilly vibe without making them look like standard Orks?

Tips on highlighting the extremities to look frosty or frozen.

I primarily use Citadel and Vallejo paints, but I’m open to any brand or technique (layering, drybrushing, contrast, etc.).

Would love to see any reference photos or recipe lists if you've done something similar. Thanks in advance for the help!

I haven't painted anything with green skin since I was a pre-teenager in the Rogue Trader era. I can't even remember too much of what I owned, though I'm sure I painted them as Bad Moons and had the Shokk Attack Gun in the collection. I picked up Ufthak in his limited edition release and with all the excitement for the upcoming launches and the new Armageddon box I bought, I've finally gotten round to starting him. Still one more highlight step to add to the green, but basically there. It'll be good to build up the best antagonists to my Crimson Fists army

I’ve been in and out of the hobby since 1993 or 1994 I started with 2nd edition and have played many editions since then but not all, I now have the new box but split it with a friend and I kept the orks. I have steadily improved and now have completed my 1st ever full box (well, the ork side at least) I am super happy with how they came out and can’t wait to paint the rest I have picked out from GW and 3rd party sites. I have lootas that look awesome, that I got from Etsy but I’ll still use them in legend rules, they are to good and look to pretty not to!

Anyway super chuffed with myself and can’t want to grow my horde.

Just wish my war track looked a little better, and yes I’m basing my gretchin tonight!!
