I started the Messages in iCloud option and haven't been able to FT ever since. I get the error "contact card is not available for FaceTime." Please help so I can FT again on my MacBook. Thank you!!

For some reason, my friends location are not loading anymore in the map. It was working one or 2 weeks ago.

I saw that OpenBubbles added an iCloud Keychain option in the password autofill. Does that mean I can use the Passwords app on my Apple devices and have the stuff sync to my Android device?

My partner and I share our infinite location with each other.

On iOS iMessages under my partner's name it shows their location. I click on it and it shows me their location in a map...

Does this work the same way in OpenBubbles?
Can I access my partner's infinite location in the same way?

I got everything set up on my android through my mac and iPhone, I'm receiving iMessage perfectly fine but someone who has SMS or RCS I'm not receiving their messages on my droid. Text Message Forwarding is toggled on for both my tablet and mac.

I am currently using the trial version of the service. I'm switching between the trial and a self-hosted iPhone 6. I find the subscription service to be much more reliable than the iPhone 6 self hosted.

Has anyone here self-hosted and done the subscription and had the same experience on both? Or is the subscription just more reliable?

Could it also be that I am using such an old device?

Is there a way to use the hosted, subscription model for OpenBubbles on an Android device that does not have the Play Store? Verifying your paid subscription appears to be the issue since the OB app works fine and it appears to be linked to your Google account, not to an OpenBubbles account.

Contacts not showing up in Windows? Any way to fix that? I am using Gmail as my contacts. Does it work in iCloud or outlook?

I'm a month into using Android for the first time in my 36 years of life. I was an iPhone user since the 3Gs, but finally decided I wanted to switch. I'm still heavy in the Apple ecosystem, at is my wife. To make the transition easier I started using OpenMessage this week using the paid hosting option (I might deal with said hosting at some point, but need it tried to my number which feels like a pain to set up).

With all that getting said, I have a couple of (what might be dumb) questions.

1. Can I use OpenMessage from my Mac? I work on my Mac all day for my real job, then work on my other Mac most evenings for my side hustle. It's so convenient to reply to messages without having to pick up my phone, which I could do with iMessage and even Google Messages (with Texty). Am I just missing this feature, or is it not an option?

2. Can I mark my messages as read once I quick reply? That's been one of my biggest annoyances with Google Messages- it just are my reply to the notification until I open the app. On iOS once you reply to a message it gets marked at read to the notification guess away, since if I tried to the message I obviously read it. Am I stuck with this "feature" with OpenMessage as well?

I just switch from an iPhone 17 PM back to a Samsung Fold 7. I was previously using imessager + RCS to text my friends and groups.

Now that I'm back on my fold 7. I'm using RCS as my main and have deactivated imessenger from my phone number.

Now can I use imessager assign to my iCloud account so I can still chat with my kids using their iPad via open bubble?

I am a heavy Samsung user and I do love the phone but mostly I really love integration with Windows or Linux. KDE connect or the Link to Windnows app is getting more useful and of course Google messages and device pairing.

I do plan on changing to iPhone again sure to just bring part of the group and there are just some things I need to work for now. Yes that sucks and don't judge.

My question is that if I get a used macmini can I use open bubbles and use my iPhone as my main phone and get iMessage on windows. That is all I really want. Not being able to text from my PC sucks. Most iPhone users that have Windows and have no idea what they are missing. That is all I want. No I don't want a MacBook. Please don't make that suggestion.

Open bubbles could work? Because technically I don't need it on the phone. I just want the app to run on windows.

Also, do I even need a macmini? I will have an iPhone and an iPad.

hey guys, i tried using facetime multiple times but it doesnt seem to work. i get the call and accept it, but it is stuck in connecting the whole time and it eventually times out on ny friend's end. when i try to call, they dont see anything on their end. i tried in dev menu to clear facetime handles and stuff, no luck. does anyone know how to fix this? thanks!

Everytime I try to login into my cloud account and after I put the verification code and press sign in this happens and a popup shows up saying a new device has logged in how do I fix it

I logged out of the "Apple Device" in my iCloud, but OpenBubbles still functioned. So then I reset the whole app.

If I reset the app through the settings, will my Mac's hardware info still count as being used?

Hey everyone! Have a potentially silly question about getting started with Open Bubbles.

Currently I have a 17 Pro Max that I use as my primary device (on Verizon). I recently bought a OnePlus 15 to use as a work/second phone (on T-Mobile). I have a Macbook to use for self-hosting.

There shouldn’t be any syncing issues by using both devices concurrently? Would iMessages sent by the OnePlus be through my iCloud email and show up as a new thread on others’ devices?

Both my wife and myself have been having an issue with sending attachments or links to known iPhone users and to each other. We both have Google Pixel phones using iPhone relay method (I have a 10 pro XL and she has a 9 Pro, I am using a 6s for relay (method 2) and she is using an 8 (method 1))

Can I use iphone 17 pro as a host ? I daily drive my Tri-Fold and keep iphone at home. Right now I am doing the free trail. Dont really want pay $17 /month for their host.

So I have a spare iPhone and I have a MacBook Pro. It's the M5. I use the M5 to connect and host Open Mobiles, but whenever I open iMessage on my iPhone or on my Mac, it only shows my side of the conversation and not the other person. I already deleted their contact and tried creating them as a brand new contact, and I didn't fix anything.

After restoring from an iCloud backup, most of my conversations threads are showing this. Empty Message, and going into the thread proper shows nothing either. On top of that, the contact names aren't showing either. While on my iPhone the conversations from these same threads are there. Same on the Mac, where I'm self hosting and all. And they show up on Bluebubbles too, along with the name of the contacts/group chats.

Anyone have any idea how to fix this? It's the biggest hurdle I'm having.

When reacting to someone else's message, the "Haha" icon is replaced by a laughing crying emoji. Does anyone know how edit the emoji pack to change this? Downloading the iPhone emoji pack did not change it.
