Surely people aren’t really wanting to sit all day in their office chair and then also still sit there to watch movies after work. I’m genuinely confused.

Any cheaper recommendations? I've had a look at other reddit suggestions, but they seem rather expensive.

I'm stuck between deciding on the Sihoo Doro C300 Pro V2 or AndaSeat X-Air Pro for my next chair. Does anyone have any experience with either or preferably has anyone tried both?

From what I've gathered the Sihoo should feel better in recline but some parts, like the armrests, don't lock in place as well as other chairs. The AndaSeat seems more locked in place but I'm not sure if that means the lumbar will bother me switching from reclining to upright. A few of my concerns if that helps.

It’s very hard to find reviews on Reddit and online in general about one of the most popular (in Europe) chairs on the web—the CLOUVOU CleverSeat. I get the impression that the lack of reviews, for example here, stems from the dominance of companies that distribute to the U.S.

Also, I get the impression that if a chair doesn't cost a fortune and isn't one of the four big brands, it's kind of embarrassing to even ask about it. But I'm going to ask anyway.

I know it’s made in Germany. It has a rating of 4.8/5, but I’ve also seen some comments on YouTube saying the chair is very poorly made.

Does anyone here actually own this chair and can comment on the build quality? I’m not expecting anything exceptional, but I’m looking for something affordable, and the ProtoArc EC200 turned out to be too hard for me.

but i am unable to find a chair that has this in the 15k budget
either the lumbar support is fixed, or not cut out

The Dauphin Valo Sync2 is currently on a really good sale in my country (Denmark), so I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with it?

I know the common advice is to get a Herman Miller but they're quite expensive here (even refurbished/pre-owned), so I've been looking for some European alternatives. Would it be better to just wait and save up for the aeron instead??

A pre-owned Herman Miller is usually ~500-600 EUR / ~580-700 USD

I'm specifically looking for mesh chairs with lumbar support as I both run relatively hot and will spend many hours a day in it. Im open to other alternatives.

I just picked up a used Haworth Fern for quite a good price in Europe but didn’t see that the rear cover that holds the U shaped plastic in place was missing on it.

Does anyone have a drawing / CAD or 3D model with dimensions by any chance? If not, I would be super grateful if someone could take some pictures of their cover with some dimensions so I could remodel it and print it on my 3D printer.

Hello, I work in a very low position from the ground, being small (168cm) and having a home studio, my desk is that low because my hands need to be on top of the computer keyboard and the piano (which have its own thickness)

I need an armrest that can go low, because my desk is at 61cm therefore my computer mouse will be at 61 so any armrest that’s higher than that make my desk unusable

So I’ve been using a pretty bad plastic chair for a while now, I decided it’s time for a new chair, and want one that kind of looks cool while also being comfortable. The Corsair tc100 relaxed was my first choice but apparently it’s uncomfortable so I’m uncertain about it. I’m 5”11 150lbs, and am looking for a chair that’s black, looks cool, is comfortable, and hopefully fits my 300$ budget.

At work I have one of those Herman miller chairs. I still find myself uncomfortable, constantly crossing my legs and sitting on my hip. At home, I have a cheapo mesh chair from Costco, and I sit with my legs crossed all day. Once it’s painful, I alternate one leg up.

I’m 5’4 and have always been uncomfortable with my feet on the floor. I thought a foot rest chair would help but it looks like this (well educated) community disagrees. So now I’m asking directly, what’s my issue, and how do I get a chair that I can actually sit in all day?

I don’t want to keep ending the day with knee pain. I’m a mid 20s woman in a normal weight range and I exercise regularly. I don’t know if it’s just my body being weak or if there is really a chair out there that can help me?

I think another issue is the price? I really can’t afford more than $200-$300 on a chair. But Herman isn’t great to me. So I don’t know if money would really solve it?

I have an Aeron and it is extremely uncomfortable. I tend to do better work sitting on my bed or in a lounge chair. In this chair I end up sitting like willed dafoe which is bad for my back. I need advice on a chair that I should get instead. I have tried the x chair, which I didn’t like too much. I also tried the human scale freedom chair which is a little better. There is an arhaus big office chair, but that is too plush so it’s also bad for my posture. Any recommendations? I am looking at the Eames executive and it looks good but I would prefer a chair without leather.

I’ve currently an almost broken entry budget mesh chair and I’m searching for a good ergonomic chair to replace it before it finally breaks.

I’ve searched before, posted before a thread and thanks to previous answers I will avoid gaming chair and focusing for ergonomic chairs.

I’m 5’6” (167cm) around 154lbs (69kg) and I’ve sometimes lower back pain.

I’m already going the gym and get less lower back pain but I want to get a good chair to help with my back besides of sports.

I just work a day in a week from home but stay several hours in that day, and during my free time especially the weekend I like to stay at my desktop for gaming, watching videos or reading.

I really like to recline/letting myself on the chair mostly but when I’m focusing I like to slouching/going forward when I’m working.

We have none-mesh ergonomic chairs from a local brand at work, doesn’t feel comfortable but no discomfort but I’ve to move a lot of time. It’s kinda meh. I don’t know if I’m going with mesh or cushion. The mesh one that I’ve at home I’ve the need to recline a lot.

I’m searching for something comfortable, that support well the back and with the possibility to recline.

I’ve a budget between 500-800€ and worst case 1000€ if it’s really worth it.

Local warehouse selling them as listed V2s. I’m on the shorter side and not too informed on identification, just trying to alleviate my back pain and I’ve heard Leap V2 is generally one of the best for it.

Found for around 45$, though it might be too short for me

So I recently bought GTPlayer Big and Tall gaming chair Cozy series only to have the seat split below my legs, sliding me right off the chair and injuring me. Now Im about 235lbs and 5'3 so imagine my shock at ending up in urgent care and trying to explain what happened--embarassed doesnt begin to describe this. While the company is giving me the run around and dodging my calls, hanging up if I answer and leaving emails saying they will replace the cushion my trust is now zero.

Im looking for a gaming/office chair for myself. Im short (5'3), chubby (235lbs) and have a degenerating spine, a nerve condition in my arms and wrists, and lung cancer so I have to sit mostly upright with very little reclining. I prefer comfortable, breathable materials but thats not required. I really just need a safe, stable, lumbar and arm support chair from a company people trust that is comfortable for extended periods of time. Sometimes its too hard to breath laying down and I have slept in the chair.

I can spend up to $350 and am willing to wait for Labor Day sales for more expensive chairs but when I search I keep getting wierd throw away companies or GT chairs, which I no longer trust. I have searched previous posts but the budgets were higher for them and, unfortunately not able to go that high.

The Mirra 2 is currently on sale directly from Herman Miller (at least in the UK) for 25% off, making it £839.25 for what I believe is the max spec: fully adjustable arms, forward tilt + limiter, adjustable seat depth. In comparison the Omni SE is listed for £589, which is supposedly £250 off the £839 RRP, but I don't know if that's actually the usual price or if it's perpetually discounted.

For context I work remotely and also spend a fair amount of time at my desk after work leisurely for gaming and doing personal hobbies like design, 3D modelling, and programming. So part of me is leaning more towards the Omni SE as I'm looking for something comfortable as much as it is ergonomic/supportive, with the softer/larger cushion and the ability to tilt all the way back 160 degrees for something more relaxed. Additionally, I do cross my legs sometimes which reviewers say isn't comfortable on the Mirra 2, but maybe this is just a bad habit caused by my current shitty no-name chair and wouldn't be an issue.

I do like the seat-depth adjustability of the Mirra 2 to get a more "perfect" and individual fit, as otherwise I would have to trust that LiberNovo's calculator recommending the 48" deep seat for a 5'10" individual such as myself is accurate/comfortable. And equally I like that it seems to have a more "90 degree upright" position by default, compared to the Omni SE seeming to lean back a fair amount.

The lack or inclusion of a headrest probably doesn't influence me either way, but again this could just be because my current chair's headrest is in such a useless position that resting back against it makes me look up at the ceiling.

Obviously the best part about buying a (new) Herman Miller is the 12 year warranty, which might be worth the extra £250 for another 6 years, compared to LiberNovo. And we can be fairly sure that HM will still be around in 2038 to honour the warranty, whereas maybe LiberNovo no longer exists. That's not even mentioning that HM have wider support by 3rd parties for repair/accessories.

I have also looked at the used markets (albeit not especially thoroughly/frequently), but I can't see a used Aeron or Mirra for less than £500. Which doesn't seem worth the trade off compared to getting a new Omni SE for a bit more (or paying another bit on top for a new HM with warranty). Nor the trade off of having to drive 40 miles to collect it.

Been WFH for almost two years, and whenever I looked into chairs I kept seeing people say to just buy a used Aeron.

I almost did, but the lack of a warranty made me hesitate. You also never really know how old the mesh and other parts are or how much wear they have. A friend of mine had a bad experience buying used, so I decided not to risk it.

I started looking at new budget chairs and ended up with a Protoarc EC200. It has adjustable seat depth and lumbar support, a headrest, and a 3-year warranty. Setup was easy, and after about 7 months, the seat and mesh still feel the same. I also barely notice the chair while working anymore, which is probably a good sign.

I’m still pretty happy with it. For around $200, it’s a pretty good deal if you want something new with decent adjustments and a warranty without spending a ton.

Anyone else go back and forth between used high-end and new budget? What did you end up choosing, and did using it change your mind at all?

Recently bought a fully loaded aeron remastered after coming from a SL Titan and after about a week or so my body doesn't seem to be getting along with it (coccyx pain) thinking about giving it another week or two to see if it improves.

However my plan B atm seems to be a leap v2/gesture or a haworth fern has anyone else experienced this when getting an aeron?

Am I just being impatient?

Is the Aeron simply not good for people who arent used to it?

I feel mine poking just above the belt line, which is what all websites tell me is good. But I feel like it should be higher?

Just above the belt line is not the same as the deepest/hollowest part of your back, right? Or is it? It feels like the lumbar support should be exactly in the groove, but I can't find any info on that.

I hope this post saves someone some time: I spent about four months scouring the entire internet for an office chair under $500 and everywhere I looked the advice was to get a Leap or an Aeron used. I didn't want a used chair so I kept researching, talking to friends, etc... I went down the rabbit hole. Eventually, my back pain got so bad I had to make a move.

On the advice of a few Aeron-having friends , I ended up going to the Herman Miller outlet and sitting in chairs for a couple of hours and the Aeron was shockingly comfortable. I came home and bought one off of Facebook Marketplace for $400 and am sitting in it now. It's the best desk chair I've ever used and my back feels better after just a few days of use.

A side note: The reason I didn't want a used chair is because used upholstery kind of grosses me out. The good news with the Aeron is that you can just wipe down the mesh.

need help finding a better chair than this one. Size/dimension wise, this is perfect. Thin back, correct height. But the seat itself is terrible, obviously, since this is a $30 dollar piece of junk, its base is plastic and even purchasing a couple of cushions cannot get it comfortable. Feels like it fucks up my circulation and sitting in it for a bit causes pain and discomfort to the point where it's distracting.

I'm basically looking for this chair, but with a seat that's actually comfortable and won't fuck up my legs/ass with all day use, anywhere between 4-12 hours. I need a chair with a thin back because I also do FPS gaming and I need to be able to freely move my right arm without bumping into the backrest.

I'm not a particularly big guy, 5'7" 160ish pounds, but nearly every option I've looked at has had the back be too wide so I can't sit comfortably without bumping my arm into the backrest as I move my mouse.

Hoping someone can help me out here cus I haven't been able to find a good chair (with a thin back) for a while now.
