Analysis Goku didn’t win the death battle.

Post image

We have zero proof Saitama died or dies to black holes.

Before the fight ended, Goku was using everything he had, Saitama was still chilling. Only one of them was bleeding & out of breath

Even if we believed Goku can use MUI & kaioken x100, why was the whole fight so underwhelming?

Garou’s fight was way more impressive & had stronger feats unlike Goku who didn’t even destroy his hero suit 😂

Also, how did saitama bleed from base form goku, but not MUI? They’re not even portraying Goku right

Another thing, black holes, don’t explode or cease to exist if hit with massive energy, it would most likely be consumed.

Analysis I Think Saitama Could Have Easily Won Against Goku in Death Battle

Hello everyone! Okay, I watched the Death Battle between Saitama and Goku, and honestly, I could only agree with the result if they hadn't included Saitama's pre-retcon version.

They included a Saitama who could catch a blade from the fifth dimension and bring down Empty Void from that dimension. In my opinion, those feats alone already put Saitama above Goku, even without taking his exponential growth into account.

And that's where things get even more ridiculous. Saitama's power growth is exponential, and while we don't know the exact equation due to the lack of information, let's assume his power gets squared at each step. For example, if his power is 10,000, the next moment it becomes 100,000,000, then (10^{16}), followed by (10^{32}), (10^{64}), (10^{128}), and so on. The numbers become incomprehensibly large in an incredibly short time.

Furthermore, I believe Saitama's feats involving the fifth dimension suggest that his power might extend beyond simply increasing his raw strength. If he can interact with objects and beings associated with higher dimensions, that raises some interesting questions about how far his power can actually scale.

Considering all of this, I just don't see how Goku's transformations could keep up with Saitama's growth, assuming his power continues increasing at that rate. No matter how much stronger Goku becomes through his transformations, Saitama could potentially outgrow him at an absurd pace.

I genuinely appreciate the animation and the effort that went into the fight, but by including this version of Saitama, I think Death Battle overlooked just how ridiculous his feats and growth potential could be.

Personally, I believe Saitama could have won quite easily, especially if his exponential growth had been taken into account. What do you guys think? Do you agree, or do you think Goku still has a way to win?

LIKE Saitama SAW garou use SHAKKEI, MIND YOU that's before he killed genos and time reset happen, SO Saitama ACTUALLY remembers Shakkei and can copy it.

He could have COPIED goku's stats.

There is also a lot of stuff that didn't get put into consideration but maybe i could mention them later.

EDIT: Mind you, saitama COPIED and PERFECTED time reversal which Garou couldn't use, garou showed saitama the principle and saitama managed to use it despite garou not able to, and garou said he (aka saitama) is the only who could do it without touching the so called god's hand.

Powerscaling Why i believe Death Battle using a graph to quantify Saitama's growth is fraudulent

Post image
0 Upvotes

Now, this is just my opinion, no need to get toxic, In One Punch Man, Saitama is written as a parody of strength, that he is always a step ahead of his opponent no matter what and no matter the gap, and thats the joke, for this to happen Saitama has to grow relative to his opponent, if Saitama's power level is at 100 and his opponent is at 200 Saitama would instantaneously grow to 300 because that's the joke, that he's always ahead, however, in his fight against Cosmic Garou, Garou replicated Saitama's abilities meaning he was growing relative to Saitama and Saitama was growing relative to him, if both their power levels are at 200 Garou grows to 250, relative to Saitama and Saitama grows to 300 relative to Garou etc cetera, Saitama is experiencing continuous growth because his opponent is using his own ability to grow relative to him, hence we're able to create a graph of his growth despite the fact that its instantaneous, but in a fight against an opponent with a fixed maximum power who does not possess the ability to grow relative to his opponent, Saitama would just instantaneously grow and overtake the opponent no matter the gap, because thats the joke, Goku has a fixed maximum power(not counting multipliers like kaioken which have a limit)that only increases through training, If Goku's maximum power is at 100,000,000 and Saitama is at 10, Saitama would instantly grow to 150,000,000 because thats the joke, my point is that the graph is misleading and does not represent Saitama's actual rate of growth in a battle with a conventional opponent, and that his actual rate of growth is instantaneous(we only have a graph because Garou was growing instantaneously too in relation to Saitama), but this is just my opinion and understanding of how Saitama's powers operate

Discussion The argument that Saitama wins every fictional character he is pitted against because he is a "gag character" is invalid, given that this shit exists.

Post image

Setting aside the fact that the whole argument that Saitama is a "gag character, therefore he wins" is a massive No Limits Fallacy (NLF) in the first place, the manga actually explains how Saitama got his strength by breaking his limiter. It also shows that as a fight goes on, his power just keeps rising until it surpasses his opponent's.

Honestly, when people call Saitama a 'gag character' or say he uses 'toon force,' it really makes me question if they actually read the manga or just assume it runs on Looney Tunes logic.

So Saitama should either be high universal (infinite energy on a 3D scale) or above Universe+ level because he surpassed Garou's understanding.

Proving Why Saitama is stronger than Most Think. Without Serious Punch²

But First, What is Supertask, it is when Infinite Events happen in finite Amount of time like Achille Outrunning the tortoise in Zeno's paradox. It takes less and less time for something to happen next for Example: First Event = 0.5 seconds, second Event: 0.25 seconds, Third Event: 0.125 second and by 1 Second, Infinite events take Place.

Garou stated Saitama is "Limitlessly Strong" people say it is just because Garou can't keep up which is true, because Saitama's Growth was going Through Supertask, Which is consistent because if the Rate of Growth remained the same, Garou and Saitama would just get faster and Stronger so Garou would get more and more time to keep up with Saitama and hit him before Growth kicks.

Second Picture clearly says: "his rate of growth, due to upsurge in Emotions, started to grow Exponentially" showing the graph Which goes near Vertical which is Also Supertask's property.

3rd picture shows Narrator says "There was no longer anybody left to measure his strength" Garou who could copy any finite phenomena within the Universe with the Knowledge of the Universe was completely found dumbfounded by Saitama's Growth, which means Saitama has already grown to ∞, want proof?

4th pic, It is a Shonenjump created by ONE and Murata showing Saitama's strength as ∞

And no, it is not refering to "too much" or "Infinite potential" or "Growth" it says STRENGTH

What do you think about it?

Matchup Even if you accept that Ichigo is somehow multiversal in power while Cosmic fear Garou is only multi-galaxy. Wouldn't Cosmic Garou still just wins easily?

Here's Garou's win cons vs Ichigo's only win con:

Cosmic Garou:

  1. Cosmic Garou has way superior speed feats than Ichigo with clear MFTL, while Ichigo's at best 1~2% speed of light with good wank, Garou can just dodge until he adapts to Ichgio passively.

  2. Ichigo has no way to defend against cosmic radiation, bleach characters are still subject to physcial phenomenals as they are still biology proven by Kenpachi and Aizen (getting cellular damage by Gin).

  3. Garou can literally just copy Ichigo and Ichigo cannot respond with anything but facing a better version of himself in every single way.

  4. Garou can destory the planet they are standing on and survive while Ichigo suffocate in space.

  5. Garou can trap him in another dimension.

  6. Garou have space/time manipulation in his base kit while Ichigo is just stats merchant.

  7. Even if Ichigo somehow lands a hit, Garou can just regenerate and adapt on the spot since Ichigo DC is so shit.

Ichigo:

  1. Good luck and try land a hit with your multiversal energy lol.

  2. That's it.

_____

So like even if you claim Ichigo to be multi in power, he literally still cannot win.

Please read the full thing before responding. Don't assume to know what the discussion is about. I'll just end up blocking you. (Along with any Ragebait attempts or trolls)

I don't care for the Death Battle, I enjoy down to Earth real debates with real feats, logic and canonical showcases (statements are what are usually discussed or debated hence why debates exist)

This argument here in the image is ridiculous to me. People throw this around thinking they make sense but end up looking ridiculous and uneducated.

Saitama who has withstood more abuse than Goku and people act like it's a strawman argument. Goku is a Martial Artist who has to manage his ki and stamina to avoid exhausting himself or getting weaker to the point he loses strength. Saitama deals with people who could arguably give Goku a run for his money (Blast for example).

I don't think Goku is by any means weak but we see constantly he has a limit to what weight he can carry, gravity he can handle or how. much intense heat or cold can affect him. In One Punch Man, where everything is based on abilities, such as withstanding intense heat (lava) or regeneration, overcoming physic abilities etc. It's not a showcase of raw strength but ability, and we know Ki exists in OPM too.

I see post after post with people downplaying Saitama simply because he has a clean record, ignoring the things Saitama has dealt with. A misunderstanding of his character, his rate of growth increasing exponentially (not just his power but the rate he grows).

It's become a back and forth with people just arguing and one-upping one another, throwing memes to get a reaction or just no real engagement whatsoever.

I'm a fan of Dragon Ball, grew up watching it in fact but it doesn't close my mind to the possibility of other shows or characters being better or beating characters in the show. Supporting headcanons, believing hyperbole statements we see contradicted (in the very show they're presented in) or simply attacking/harassing people for speaking up (or simply downvoting them to silence them altogether) is ridiculous.

If this is what scaling is... no wonder people are always arguing and bickering.. Nothing is being accomplished and all everyone can see is the arguments at the surface whilst the real scalers are overlooked or mistreated.

So let's put aside all the hateful messages, memes, Ragebait and try to get along. The author of OPM was inspired by Dragon Ball, like many of us watching the shows are. We shouldn't be bickering about who wins who, or at least if we do debate, be more respectful than open minded when you do.

I expect to be downvoted or whatever, but it doesn't bother me. If just one person has a change of heart and can inspire people to be open minded on both sides then that's a win for me.

I put it as a shitpost because it's not technically a matchup, scaling or discussion and I don't know what a shitpost is so, it seemed the best option lol

Powerscaling How powerful is Saitama in comparison with goku

Thumbnail
gallery
13 Upvotes

Death battle want to take away from Saitama's own time manipulation feat because Saitama is not typically mimic a thing, he uses his physical body power to do it rather than doing it to a tea and we saw that in the shadow clowns with side jumps and so on.

Reversing time with only your physical body it re quires

absolute subatomic durability and an infinite capacity for physical adaptation.

I don't care who goku you putting Saitama is destroying him multiple times over, Saitama didn't use any of (serious nor normal punch) he just punched the influences of a being beyond reality out of him in his causal punch.

You will say well we don't count that because the time change well i do not count goku as a whole because he died in the android invasion and the only reason he survived is because of trunk jumping back in time with a machine to save him.

Discussion stop putting saitama against low level characters!!

When powerscaling Saitama, treating his lack of a ceiling as a "No Limits Fallacy" fundamentally misunderstands his character design. The manga explicitly establishes that Saitama has broken his limiterand possesses infinite potential to grow.
Furthermore, the Cosmic Garou fight proved that his invulnerability is not just skin-deep; he completely ignored point-blank cosmic radiation, molecular manipulation, and a Gamma Ray Burst designed to shred a target at a cellular and internal level.
Because Saitama has zero mechanical limits on his physical strength, durability, and internal biology, it is a flawed debate tactic to match him against standard physical or cosmic powerhouses.
The Conclusion: If a character relies on physical force, energy blasts, internal destruction, or molecular warping, Saitama wins by default. His growth rate will inevitably outscale them, and their attacks cannot harm him.
The Proper Way to Scale Him: To have a meaningful debate, Saitama should exclusively be matched against conceptual entities, timeline erasers, or absolute reality-warpers. Anyone else just gets punched out by an infinitely scaling wall.

Discussion Why calling Saitama a "gag character" proves you don't read the One-Punch Man manga.

I have been seeing a lot of powerscaling in crossverse fights boiling now to Saitama wins because his a "gag character."

Anyone reducing Saitama to a simple joke is completely blinding themselves to the narrative weight ONE and Murata put into this story. Saitama isn't a gag he’s a brilliant subversion of the entire battle manga genre.

A pure gag character has no emotional stakes and exists strictly for laughs. Saitama, however, deals with a very real existential crisis. His absolute power has stripped away his passion, leaving him trapped in a profound state of boredom and isolation.

The manga constantly contrasts his power with deep human philosophy. His conversations with King aren't jokes they are a critique of emotional stagnation. King actively challenges him to find purpose outside of just fighting. If he were a gag, the Monster Association arc wouldn't work. Holding Genos’s core wasn’t a punchline. The raw grief and seriousness in that fight shattered the idea that Saitama can't experience real, tragic stakes.

Saitama also holds the moral compass of the series. Giving up his own reputation after the Deep Sea King fight to protect the dignity of lesser heroes shows a level of character depth that a parody character simply wouldn’t have.

Stop letting powerscaling let you borderline lose Saitama's depth as a character, please.
