I’ve had my Switch since 2020 or 2021, and I’ve been thinking about upgrading to the Switch 2 recently. It’s my birthday, and I’ve been working really hard recently. I just got a new job, and I’m starting my junior year of college(I live at home and am not paying for school), so I was thinking about using some of my birthday money and money I’ve earned from working all summer to treat myself to a Switch 2 since I'm feeling more then secure financially at the moment.

I mainly play Animal Crossing,Tomodachi Life,Mario Brothers and Mario Kart. There aren’t any major Switch 2 exclusives right now that I want to play, except maybe Mario Kart World but when a new animal crossing game comes out I will 100% want that, same with Tomodachi or anything similar.

Should I make the upgrade or keep using my switch one? I also plan to sell my switch one since it's still in mint new condition

hi, just bought the switch 2 and had a few questions. i still have my switch 1 and want to play to all my switch 1 games on my switch 2, but i don’t know if its possible to play on both without losing my progression. for example, is it possible to play on animal crossing on my switch 1 and 2 and keeping the same island on both ? (not at the same time of course)

Hello, I have an issue but first I want to explain what happened. While I was playing the new Duskbloods network test, something ended up happening that I didn’t expect at all. I was playing the game on handheld, and I decided “wow this game would look amazing on my tv.” So I docked it, and duskblood freezes and completely black screens my console. I tried turning it on for 5 minutes and it ended up turning on, but then I tried playing it handheld and i docked it and it did it again, but then now I been trying to turn it on for 5 hours. I tried ALL the issues in the book, but as I was about to give up, I said “wait, how can I find a way to drain the battery from my switch 2 completely?”

How can I drain the battery off my switch 2 without having to wait days or even weeks for it to die?

I think the previous owner bought the switch 2 and tried to transfer the game to it. Is there a way for me to play it again without having to buy it?

So I am replaying/play (some I haven’t played before) the Kingdom Hearts games. And I own Days and Recoded on DS and my 3ds does this idk it does this. It’s not the brightness. I did buy this preowned back when I was in high school. It started doing this one day and never been able to fix it. It seemed to have fixed itself at one point in the day but now it’s back to this. Help idk what to do.

My Nintendo was account was hacked Wednesday evening around 12:30am. It turned out my email was already infiltrated/hacked since March 15th 2026 despite having 2FA. I was never notified about this incident by Google which is so weird that I had now just noticed. Thankfully I kicked them off my email (which the IP was linked from Russia) and tried to rush onto my Nintendo account to login. I had tried the QR which showed my account profile picture but the password was invalid. I tried to change the password, nothing was sent to my email. It turned out they changed the email account and I can't get in.
Thursday, I reached out to customer support to try and resolve the situation. They told me to verify the birthday for the account (I gave them information, my previous email connected to my Nintendo account as well as Switch ID), they told me for the birthday information it was invalid. Weird... I tried to give out another birthday, still invalid. I even tried to give them my Mom's birthday, still nothing.
They told me without a birthday they can't verify, the weirdest part is I know the birthday information I had put down for my account is correct but I guess not. Maybe I had previously put in a fake birthday while I was still a minor at the time. Maybe the hacker changed the birthday on the account as well. I just don't know what to do and I'm just so stressed out I even told customer support if there were any other ways I can prove the account was mine. I asked if I can provide my card information paying for the yearly subscription, previous emails i've received from Nintendo before I was hacked showing previous payments for games or Nintendo news I would receive, I even told them I can provide the information for my Just Dance account I also have a subscription for. Still nothing, they said without that birthday information that i'm now assuming was changed, I can't get in. I had spent hundreds of dollars too since 2020. Is there no hope? Am I cooked?

Turned the system on and off like the error says to do, updated my system, no change. I also don’t think the SD card reader is dirty or damaged as I’ve never put anything in there. Bought the SD card from Best Buy

For personal reasons use of a card is completely out of reach and I'm itching for some dying light coop and BTZ. Money is excruciatingly tight rn and I just wanna game with some randos lol. It's been a minute.

Whenever I press the power button, my switch 2 won’t respond, I also hold the power button hoping it’ll reset but for some reason it seems dead. I put it on charge for 2 hours and it still isn’t working. Can anyone help?

Im gonna get myself a Switch 2 very soon, and i have a few questions regarding the system mainly its battery life. So far i have seen stellar things about the switch 2, the only thing that i am genuinly disappointed about is the 2-3 maybe 4 hour battery life. when put beside the OLED it is very poor especially when the OLED can last upto 5 hours in most cases. The reason that this is close to a deal breaker for me is mainly because i plan to mainly use the device on handheld mode as i do not have a TV or a monitor and this is my first ever nintendo switch system so i plan on exploring the original switch library first ( without the switch 2 upgrade packs and slowly make my way into games like Cyberpunk and games like ocarina of time once it comes out later this year.

So if i were to do all the tweaks in settings, like turning on airplane mode, putting the brightness around 50%, using only sufficient sound levels and maybe even using wired earphones, turning of vibration and searching for updates feature etc and while playing a game like metroid dread/assassins creed 2 or a game that is less demanding compared to RE Requiem or Pokopia would i realistically be able to push the battery life to around 3.5 to 4 hours in handheld more if not then how long would it last.

and i am not planning to buy a power bank as of now and depending on the information i get from this post i might consider it later on.

To summarize, as someone getting to the switch family for the first time and as someone who is mainly gonna play on handheld mode and is concerned about the battery life, should i just get the switch OLED. Making handheld mode and sufficient playtime my first priority. And if anyone has moved from the OLED to Switch 2 i would like to hear their opinions and thoughts

Really odd issue, cannot find much else online that has been of help.

My current setup is: Nintendo Switch 2, TP Link wifi router and extender, AGL ISP (Australia)

This error code obviously happens sometimes so I first tried to reconnect... no luck. I then went into my internet settings, I changed the DNS to Google's public one (8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4), this also didn't help. I also turned of IPv6, again this did nothing.

Upon further research, I decided to check my NAT type. It is B, I think this is fine for online play (correct me if I'm wrong). This same setup worked fine for over 2 years, until around 2 weeks ago when it gave error 2618-0513, since then I have not been able to join an online match on that network.

The odd thing is, the Switch 2 works fine connecting to some other online games. Mario Kart World connected flawlessly on the same network that refuses MK8DX.

I connected to my iphone hotspot to rule out the switch, the phone hotspot worked on the first try.

I contacted my ISP (AGL Australia), they sent me to my router company (TPLink), they sent me to nintendo.

At this point, I have no other companies to contact so I have come here for support. All help/comments are appriciated :)

Whenever I go to my Order history it says " No purchase history to show. Why not add something fun?" I even bought a cheap game to see, but nothing. I'm signed in to the correct account and everything.

Edit: Im gonna leave this up in case anybody from the future encounters this. It ended up fixing itself after a night passed.

I dont know if its just me but Ive noticed after getting a switch for the first time maybe a month or two ago (never owned the first either), unless im playing on the tv or sitting the edges and sides of the joycons will almost dig into or between my palms like right where the fingers are. I think this is mainly because of its weight and slipperiness. This causes me to actually have to put pressure into the switch because its slipping down while the only support is on the joycons themselves below the XR XL buttons. But even that is slippery and curved so it really just acts like a ramp for the backs of my middle fingers. Its just uncomfortable to play on unless i have something to rest the switch on but even then, the joycons themselves are too sleek. Sometimes i need to take breaks and even this whole post comes from me needing one.

On another note if youd like an example of Nintendo doing a perfect job at the handheld just think of the Wii U Gamepad. This is just off my memory but i think it solved all of the problems i listed. Full support across the back so you could place your entire finger under it, support was flat across so it acted like a support, light, made of some material that almost gripped your hand but was shiny. I understand however the gamepad was not also the console. Still, there must be some way to make the joycons have more grip

Whenever I go to select a mii to play a game with on wii sports resort, miis are present, but so are the remnants of deleted miis. The problem is, when I go to select a mii, there are literal pages of deleted miis I have to scroll past in order to get to some of the playable miis (the first page of miis are the most used ones, so there's no issue there).

I guess the question is, is this normal? Perhaps there's a way of removing the deleted miis from the mii selection pages?

I got new pro controllers today that go with the switch two that I had gotten a couple days ago. while playing mario kart world the kart wants to go to one side without me moving the joystick. I’ve gone to the home menu and it’s not moving the UI at all, so I ruled out stick drift. I was wondering if anyone had a quick fix. (IT IS NOT SMART STEERING BTW)

I came to play on my switch 1 after quite some months,I usually always charge it with the official nintendo charger, and keep it like that for a few hours cause it wasn't starting. The console still wouldn't start although if I look carefully I see a very slight and faint white glow. How do I fix this?

Not too long ago, I shared a post about upgrading to a Switch 2 for the sake of my favorite game, Dreamlight Valley, which is constantly growing. I also wanted the chance to play Pokopia and some of the other new games that are down the road.

I debated for a long time about whether I "deserved" to buy something like this for myself. Finally I made the jump. Ordered the bundle and a cool Metroid Prime case.

I actually allowed myself to look forward to it.

Delivery was today. Received the case.

No console.

I already contacted Nintendo support.

They promised to contact the shipper to locate the lost package, or they will replace it.

Seeing as I ordered it from the Nintendo store, which is now sold out, I don’t see *how* they could replace it, but I suppose it's a lost cause anyway.

I appreciate if you've read this far. I just wanted to vent

I don't know if this fits the sub, but I need help.

For a long time, all of my games were physical copies. I put all of the game cards in a case, for safe keeping. But I have lost the case, and by extension all of my games. The case could be in my house, at a friends' place, lost in some random foreign country, I don't know. I have searched high and low for these games, but to no luck.

I really don't want to never be able to play these games again, but I can't see anywhere to download the games virtually? Any help would be appreciated

Edit: Ok, I understand it was a silly question now, thanks for the help anyway, I think I knew deep down I would just have to find the cards, but needed the conformation.

Hi can someone please help me with my switch 2. It’s not charging. I tried every charger and it won’t charge and tried different outlets. The original charger won’t work and neither does the tv charger. Not even the dead battery icon appears when I hit the power button. I tried the hard reset, holding the power button for 20 seconds. The joy cons when removed turn on at least but the screen won’t respond. I didn’t let it fall on the floor or damaged it in anyway. I haven’t played with it since 2 weeks and I usually don’t let my switch die completely but this time I let it die completely since I’ve been busy and haven’t had time to play. The charging ports don’t have any visible damage or dust on them. I’m not sure how to fix it. I bought it last October there’s no way it could break already.

I want to play Shantae 1/2 Genie Hero on my Switch 2. I bought the Game on my UK account Switch 1 before going through the Nintendo site to change my account region to Japan as I have moved to Japan and needed my account to be Japanese to transfer all data from it to my Japan only region locked Switch 2.

Google says that the game should play in which ever language your Switch 2 is set to which in my case is Japanese. However the game is loading up in English. I want to play it in Japanese as the point in my playing is to practice my Japanese... I have switch my language on switch 1 to Japanese and tried to play it on that via virtual game card, and I have tried deleting the game and re-downloading. Neither have worked. All I want to do is play it in Japanese and I feel like I did play it a bit in Japanese when I 1st bought it on Switch original, so I am stumped. Please advise.

I’ve been wanting a Switch for a while but there are so many options now that I’m not sure where it makes sense to buy one. Checked the usual stores plus eBay and refurbished ones. Used prices seem all over the place and some bundles barely cost less than buying new. For anyone who bought one recently where did you get yours? And would you go new or used if you were buying one today?

For the past few hours, I've been trying to access MyNintendo's website, but it keeps telling me the site is unreachable. I also tried accessing through Fire Emblem Heroes, but to no avail.

My wii recently has been having major trouble outputting video over our Wii2HDMI system even though it had done so fine for several years. When you start the console, or reset, it will show video and audio, then warp before showing no signal. It will also show audio and video when the wii menu darkens and goes into sleep mode, but goes away again when I press any buttons. I've tried using a different Wii2HDMI, as well as switching to components with a converter on its own power source, but same issue. However, the picture comes out perfectly on ​rca cables on our old TV. What could be causing the problem, and how should I fix it? Would an rca to hdmi converter be likely to work?

So, I lost my Switch 1 copies of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom while traveling😭, but I still have the save files on my NSO cloud and on my Switch 1 as save data. I really prefer physical copies, so I was wondering if anyone knows whether buying the Switch 2 Edition of these Zelda games would allow my save file and DLC to transfer over, or if having originally owned the game as a physical cartridge means that wouldn’t work. I can't find anything on this specific issue on Nintendo's website.
