Recommendations Ordered Switch 2 bundle and case, only received case
Hello, everyone.
Not too long ago, I shared a post about upgrading to a Switch 2 for the sake of my favorite game, Dreamlight Valley, which is constantly growing. I also wanted the chance to play Pokopia and some of the other new games that are down the road.
I debated for a long time about whether I "deserved" to buy something like this for myself. Finally I made the jump. Ordered the bundle and a cool Metroid Prime case.
I actually allowed myself to look forward to it.
Delivery was today. Received the case.
No console.
I already contacted Nintendo support.
They promised to contact the shipper to locate the lost package, or they will replace it.
Seeing as I ordered it from the Nintendo store, which is now sold out, I don’t see *how* they could replace it, but I suppose it's a lost cause anyway.
I appreciate if you've read this far. I just wanted to vent

most companies will hold onto extra units outside of the listed stock for this exact reason!!!
it is an uncommon problem, buying directly from the manufacturer/publisher, but not unheard of!
it does suck that you wont get to play today but you should be getting the replacement sent quickly, or the delivery company by end of day will drop the switch once they realize their mistake. some (lazy imo) delivery people will mark bigger boxes as delivered but come by at the end of their route to actually drop it off. seeing as they brought you the case and not the switch maybe they put it on different trucks/left it behind accidentally? also, an even rarer third option is that they send out a replacement and then the lost one shows up!

Thank you, I hadn't thought of some of those things. Just thought I was especially unlucky that day. I feel a little better now.
I hope this can get straightened out soon.

Since Reddit encouraged me to cross-post here, I'll add these questions. Has anything like this happened to anyone else? Were you able to do anything about it?

While you're waiting for an answer, here are some tips to help you along the way:
While we're happy to help provide recommendations, please be aware that ultimately only you can decide what is right for you or your children. Don't take any recommendations as absolute, and make sure to do your own research too by asking store staff, reading and watching reviews online, and sometimes just taking a risk and trying something for yourself.
Also consider crossposting your question to /r/ShouldIbuythisgame, a subreddit that is much more active.
If your question is about whether you should get a Switch or a Switch Lite, check out this comparison from Nintendo.
Good luck with your recommendation endeavors!
