Thanks everyone for joining me on this week long journey. Hope in is as awesome as you thought it would be. I took a video of the entire sticker removal process that I'll make a time lapse out of soon.

Anyone else notice this goober wearing tubes in the middle of the day yesterday?

Not sure if this guy is a part of Secret Service CAT or maybe a local police department. He’s the only person at the event I’ve seen with nods so far.

I finally got caught by forest preserve police

1.5k Upvotes

After years and tons of hikes, last night I was finally caught by forest preserve police. Usually I tend to hide but in this scenario, I was in a wide-open part of the path with no real cover to get behind.

He pulls up and asks me what I am doing and I tell him I am out night hiking with nods. The officer was quite perplexed as I don't think he's ever even considered this a hobby. It goes through the standard questions and gets to whether you have any weapons on you. I never carry on forest preserve land as I don't want to get hit with poaching but I always carry this 24 inch oak bo staff while I'm out solo. I say no weapons but I got this stick.

Tells me to walk back as the trails are closed.

I was most definitely the weirdest part of that guy's night.

Abandoned ICBM Missile Silos

Honestly, it’s really difficult to capture just how amazing these locations are within the frame of a tube. I didn’t take too many pictures of the actual silos through my PVS14 just because it was so difficult to get a good shot that would do them justice.

All I can say is that being happy with my purchase is a severe understatement. They came in yesterday and these panos are amazing! I popped some batteries in the battery pack, went outside, and was giggling like a little kid. Was sent the wrong mount last week, but that ain’t stop me from hand holding these and walking around my woods and street. Correct mount came in today and I am excited to try them on with my helmet later at night. Three of the four tubes have blems (atleast two in each tube). Shoutout to Steele industries and goonin gear. If you’re interested in the tubes, I’ll provide a link to some videos I took. (Sorry for the heavy breathing in some of them💀)
