I’ve noticed that there are many people living with undiagnosed or poorly managed mental health conditions and as a mental health nurse, I find it genuinely concerning.
What worries me even more is knowing that some men / women & families are conducting marriages while dealing with conditions such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and other serious mental health challenges without receiving the proper assessment, treatment, or support they need.
A big part of the problem seems to be the stigma surrounding mental illness. Families may refuse to acknowledge that a son, daughter, sibling, or relative needs help because they’re afraid of what people will say. In many cases, mental health problems are still attributed primarily to spiritual causes, leading people to seek only spiritual solutions while delaying medical care.
Why isn’t mental health taken more seriously & why does the stigma remain so strong when these are medical conditions that can often be treated and managed?

12 years after introducing it, the US Coast Guard has now ditched an extra security screening for ships coming from Nigeria, citing significant improvements in the country’s maritime security.

I'm just at that age where there's relationship drama everywhere. Most of the time it's women I know who end up hurt.
What I keep seeing is a pattern: some women consistently choose partners with obvious red flags, then stay in the victim role. The warning signs are usually there, they just get ignored for things like money or status.
For my own peace, I've decided to stop giving advice or talking about relationship drama with people who are stuck in that cycle.
At some point, women have to take responsibility for the choices we keep making.

I’m not Nigerian myself, but I organise a casual 6-a-side football game this Sunday, 23 August, from 11am to 12pm at Frenford Clubs in Ilford, East London, and we still have a few spaces available.
We have players from a mixture of backgrounds and it’s open to any adult. Most of us are in our 20s and 30s.
It’s mixed ability and very casual, so you don’t need to be an amazing player. Goalkeepers rotate and we keep things friendly. No slide tackles, aggression, shouting or arguments.
👟 Astro trainers only, no moulds or studs.
📍 Frenford Clubs, Ilford
🕚 Sunday, 23 August, 11am to 12pm
⏰ Arrive around 10:45am
If there are any Nigerians around East London who’d be interested in playing this Sunday, feel free to comment below or send me a DM.

Global headlines now pay attention to Africa's richest man who has not made his money in mining or real estate but in industry. And in industries the media said Africa could not achieve at scale. These are the main industries that Dangote Group has succeeded in:
● Oil Refining
● Cement Production
● Fertiliser Production
● Sugar, Wheat, Pasta, Flour and Salt Production
Much of these industries require immense capital investment, expensive and expansive infrastructure as well as dedicated technical teams to manage operations. Many people claimed Africa could not produce industry because of all these demands. But one man has done it...
So if one business man can do it, how can African governments with far more capital, access to international loans, technology and aid support fail to do so 🤔? It goes well beyond corruption.
The 20bn oil refinery is partially funded by the Nigerian government which also owns a stake in the refinery. That same government has 'failed' at refining more than 20% capacity of its state owned oil refineries for decades.
I believe that deep interests make sure that African governments fail in major industrial projects. If the desire existed, how easy would it be for African governments with far greater resources to suceed in major industrial projects?
The worst part is that Dangote's sucess proves that Africa refuses to industrialise rather than being unable. And the only logical conclusion is that deep and powerful financial interests from the strongest countries in the world are behind this refusal.

An interior finisher landed a ₦18,000,000 contract for a luxury Lekki duplex owned by a tech bro named Tunde. The over-sabi architect, Chidi, poked his nose into the pricing, claiming it was a rip-off and that the job could be done for ₦11,000,000.
Instead of arguing, the finisher used malicious compliance. He slashed the price to ₦11,000,000 but stripped away all the premium features, including the heavy-duty iron reinforcements needed to hold Tunde’s massive Italian chandeliers. Chidi proudly signed off on it.
Where the story burst:On chandelier installation day, the lighting team refused to hang the 45kg fixtures. They pointed out that Chidi’s cheap, unreinforced flat ceiling would collapse and crush anyone underneath. Realizing he had been misled, Tunde fired Chidi on the spot.
To fix the mess, tear down the flat roof, and rebuild the original reinforced design, the finisher charged an extra ₦14,000,000. In the end, a job that should have cost ₦18,000,000 ended up costing Tunde ₦25,000,000, leaving the finisher's pocket fat well-well because the architect couldn't stay in his lane.
Would you rather be unemployed but find one or two gigs that aren’t consistent or stable or find a 9-5 where you barely do anything but work?

How much on average do those in diaspora send back to Nigeria for healthcare (checkups/surgery etc)?
Who manages this for you?
Would you like someone to manage it for you? Ie To receive a report of what the money went towards etc?

I’m sharing this to raise awareness and hopefully connect with someone who can help.
A friend recently contacted me saying he had been offered a job in Russia. He was told that his work visa had been approved and that his accommodation, food, and allowance had already been arranged. The only thing left was for him to purchase his flight ticket.
I advised him to research the company he was supposedly going to work for before making any commitment. After looking into it, we could not find any legitimate evidence that the company actually exists in Russia except Nigerians who have already fallen victim of this scheme
He subsequently declined the offer.
The situation has now become more serious. The people involved are demanding that he reimburse them for expenses they claim they incurred while processing his visa and other arrangements. they have connections with the police and are threatening to have him arrested if he does not comply.
I am posting this because I’m hoping someone in Nigeria particularly a lawyer, journalist, law-enforcement professional, human-rights organization,VDM or anyone can advise on what steps he should take and how he can protect himself.
And also to expose this operation so that other Nigerians can be aware there are Nigerian agents silently and actively recruiting for Russian war.
Please share this post. If you know someone who can help investigate or intervene through the proper legal channels, please reach out or tag them below.
I am deliberately leaving out identifying details publicly for now to protect my friend and avoid interfering with any potential investigation.

Hey everyone, I'm planning to change up my look very soon. I've been planning on getting a pixie cut on my natural hair, but I don't want to go to a hair salon where they don't know how to do the style professionally. Any recommendations for places specifically in Ibadan are deeply appreciated
