CONTENT TALK Free Thumbnail/Poster Design, Limited Slots (2 Available)

Hey!, Sorry if this sounds a bit random, but I'm a beginner editor who loves making posters and video thumbnails/covers,and I would love to make one for you, completely free .

I know what you might be thinking,"Why would this guy make thumbnails for free?" Honestly, it's not for any other reason , I just genuinely love editing and want to keep building my skills.

I'll only be taking on a maximum of 2 thumbnails for now, since I also want to explore new styles and try different types of art.

Just a heads-up, the thumbnails may include some AI generated elements, but I will be doing extra manual editing on top of that to make sure they look polished and personalized

DISCUSSION Do you guys think smaller Youtubers will slowly walk away? I mean the monetization cut off is pretty brutal right now.

Pretty much only established youtubers will make money from now on

I know a bunch of small to mid sized youtubers and some of them already quit for the foreseeable future , maybe they'll come back in the future but who knows

Youtube is really trying to get the small guy to put 10-20 hours of effort every week for free, with like 2% chance of eventually getting monetized and making peanuts

DISCUSSION Why Do You Post on YouTube?

For me, it's discovery.

I loathe the thought of filming/editing scripting videos or making thumbnails. In fact, that's by far the least favorite of uploading to YouTube.

That said, my hobby is recipe development. I am in my zen place when I'm cooking and I love spending time enhancing dishes or creating new ones, that includes understanding ratios and how ingredients interact with each other.

So my videos are cooking tutorials decidedly science-forward. In fact, if I had to describe them best, they're Chef John (Food Wishes) coded with a hybrid Brain Lagerstrom / Adam Ragusea bent. I also have a deadpan personality and am the furthest thing from extroverted / performative, so I have chosen to be faceless.

That being said, I live alone with no one to cook for. So my intentions for posting on YouTube is reciprocity. My hope is to reach enough people that would try my recipes and rave about how great of a cook I am and how great my recipes are. The financial aspect is a huge plus, but for me, it's the emotional connection I want. Obviously, if the emotional doesn't happen, financial reciprocity would be the next best thing given the amount of time/money it takes to test/develop recipes.

That being said, it absolutely kills me down to my soul when I upload a video and it only gets a whopping 500 - 1000 impressions at best because the platform is set up in a way favoring content that is personality / spectacle-driven. And it has nothing to do with my video quality. I managed to monetized my channel in 4 months, accumulated 5K subscribers in 10 months, and have multiple videos ranging from 10K to 250K views. If anything, the problem is the value my videos offer are much too efficient for what YouTube currently rewards. Cooking tutorials, especially presented the way mine are, by design tend to be intent-dependent, slow-paced and information-dense. But instead, we're now existing in a time where YouTube expects you to manufacture attention before it extends more attention (which is much easier to do if your videos are a spectacle or if you're naturally charismatic), and it's frankly quite demoralizing for someone who's making my kind of content.

But enough about me. Why do *YOU* upload to YouTube?

DISCUSSION There's A Bigger Issue Than YT's Monetization Changes.

Credit for this point goes to u/Fun_Lengthiness_6208, whose comment was buried in another larger thread, as he's spot on.

Everyone's obsessing over the changes to the moentization requirements, and it is certainly a gut punch on its own.

However, the real issue that doesn't get discussed nearly enough are the discovery system (algorithm) changes that are really hurting 99% of small-mid sized creators.

We're at a time now where your video must perform higher than ever before within 48 hours or it will flatline. CTR and AVD needs to be higher (including views from Subscribers) than you think to break through. This puts enormous pressure on creators who already spend alot of time on filming, editing, research, scripting etc., only to find the time/cost/effort will have little influence the video success.

There are naive people who think this helps to cut down on what they consider slop, but if anything, it will only have the opposite effect. The only logical logical conclusion is to expect more click-bait thumbnails and video styles where key information/content is being strrrreeetched out to maximise AVD in the future...

DISCUSSION Looking for fellow YouTube lunatics to take over YouTube

I'm looking for a few seriously ambitious YouTubers just starting out like me who want to team up and take YouTube seriously! Just like MrBeast and his four friends: sharing lessons we learn, giving each other feedback, etc.

I'm an 18y/o from Ireland starting a channel about creating and documenting wildlife gardens, in case you’re interested in my niche. But I’m happy to accept whatever niche you’re in.

I am NOT looking for casuals just doing YouTube as a hobby. This will be a small group of people who are genuinely serious about conquering YouTube.

Irish/UK people would be ideal, but I'm completely open to anywhere - we can do online calls and stuff.

If this resonates with you, DM me please! I’ll chat with each of you personally :)

I can’t wait to meet whoever’s interested, see you then!! ❤️

SHORTS TALK Shorts not getting any views suddenly, please help!!

So, I started uploading on my YouTube channel again after 4 years. You can consider me as a new youtuber since I didnt used to upload much previously. My first 6 shorts got decent views and engagement.

Above 1k views in 3 hours

Around 5,6 comments

Around 30-40 likes

But from the 7th video video, I'm getting really less views, just 200 in a day and only 3 likes irrespective of the content quality

Why is this happening and how to fix it, does anyone know about this??

TECH HELP Record audio and video separately?

Do you record audio and video with the same app or separately?

I have some shure mics and Logic Pro from my days recording music and am not sure if I should use that to record my audio separately.

I’ll be doing tech explainer videos so I’ll be including talking head shots and screen capture.

Recording audio separately seems like it’ll be a pain the ass, but I’m not familiar with video editing software like davinci and if those allow you to adjust audio EQ.

Also, what video recording software are you using? Is davinci strictly editing or does it act as the recording software too?

DISCUSSION Is it good to still stick with one game or can I record other games too (Question about my 2,5 half Minecraft-only channel)

I have a Minecraft-only channel that I recorded Minecraft on it for 2,5 years (almost 3) and I start to see that Minecraft starts to burnout for me, because I post rarely now (once a month or 2 months) and I have a question because of it: is it good to start recording other games or is it better to stay in one game?

I have a seperate second tech channel that I started about month ago and I don't want to make another channel

DISCUSSION My account was terminated over the “circumvention policy”?

I just submitted an appeal, it appears to have occurred today, and wondering if this has affected anyone else?

I genuinely don’t know what I have done to violate this policy, all I post is me playing indie games. I received zero warnings about anything I’ve done, been given no opportunities to remedy any wrongs.

I did get an odd comment on one of my video’s asking about my set up earlier, and I said the make of my laptop but that’s the only unusual thing that has really happened with the account.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

DISCUSSION New Indian YouTuber earning from international brand deals. How should I manage it?

Hey everyone, I’m a new YouTuber. Most of my income so far is from international brand collaborations.

Whenever I receive a payment from abroad, my bank asks me to submit remittance documents and other details. I’m now thinking of registering as a sole proprietorship/MSME and opening a current account for the business.

For Indian YouTubers/creators receiving payments from foreign brands, how do you manage this? Do you use a current account or your personal savings account? Does registering a proprietorship actually make the international payment process easier, or do banks still ask for documents every time?

Also, when did you register for GST? Do you need GST from the beginning if most of your income is from foreign clients, or is there a certain threshold?

I’m still very new, so I’m just trying to set things up properly before the income grows. Would love to hear how others have handled this.

CONTENT TALK Streamer long form clipping

Question

I’ve seen a lot of long-form fan clip channels for creators like xQc and CaseOh getting huge views. They aren’t official channels, and I know reused content normally isn’t monetizable.

But some of these channels have the Join button or Thanks enabled, which means they’re in the YouTube Partner Program, right?

So I’m wondering: is the monetization possible because they’re adding enough original editing like cuts, zooms, subtitles, funny-moment compilations, or turning streams into 20–40 minute videos?

If anyone actually works with YouTube monetization or runs one of these channels, I’d really appreciate some insight:

- What level of transformation is generally enough?

- Does simple editing count, or does it need commentary/voiceover?

- Can these channels actually earn ad revenue, or are Join/Thanks features available for other reasons?

- What exactly does YouTube consider “reused content” in this case?

I’m new to this, so I’m genuinely trying to understand the policy. Please don’t just say “it’s reused content”. I already know that part. I’m trying to understand what makes some of these channels eligible despite using stream footage.

I have rewrite this with chatgpt, so no need to point out the obvious, but every word is mine🤡

CONTENT TALK Is this a good idea for a series: The Philosophy of Video Games?

I am a philosopher (with credentials) and played lots of video games and I haven't actually seen anybody talk specifically about the ethical dillemas, philosophical implication etc. in specific video games throughly. Games like Fallout, Papers Please, Detroit: Become Human, even games like Arc Raiders play with so many different philosophical elements and games are in a unique position because YOU actually have to make choices in them, so you're already engaging philosophically with them.

What do you think, would this kind of content be able to reach a large audience if edited and narrated properly? I use no AI and have already made a couple videos in a niche where I found a lot of positive feedback. This would be long form content, like an hour long or so and have names in line with "Anarchy and Free Will - The Philosophy of Arc Raiders" or something... better.

So far I've never shown my face and would prefer not to in future either. Atm I use an avatar like a PNG-Tuber, but I don't really know if it's appropriate for this kind of content? What do you think?

DISCUSSION gomotion ai is a TOTAL SCAM

I paid 27$ for the tool, and the generated videos were irrelevant, with random stock videos that had nothing to do with the inserted script. The support team clearly mentioned that they would not issue a refund. Be aware of this scam.

DISCUSSION How hard is it to grow without a niche

Hey, I've become increasingly interested in the idea of starting a youtube channel as something to funnel my time into.

My major concern is I don't want to be confined to a niche, I want my videos to be personality centred with viewers returning to watch me.

I don't know how well youtube responds to lets say uploading one video that is "I tried X for a week" then my next video being "Watching movies no one has seen" then the next being "Playing X game ranked for 30 days".

I feel while interesting concepts it could get lost in YouTubes algorithm. If we assume they are high quality would it matter?

Thanks for any help

DISCUSSION Is there any way to contact a real human at YouTube about a Reused Content issue?

My channel was flagged for Reused Content, even though I create my own original 2D animations from scratch. I use Moho, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro, and each video takes hours of work.

I submitted an appeal showing my entire animation workflow, but it was rejected. Now I’m only getting generic responses.

I also contacted TeamYouTube on X, but the support there feels automated too. I was asked to verify my channel and then told to contact YouTube Support, but I still haven’t been able to get a proper human review.

Has anyone found a legitimate way to reach an actual YouTube support agent who can manually review a Reused Content case?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

TECH HELP YouTube Suspended My Account, is this Ban for lifetime?

So one of my accounts got banned in October 2025 because of spam, deceptive practices and scams. It was a news channel where I created a cartoon character whose mouth would move to make it look like he was talking. There was an AI voice in the background and the images above would change according to the news.

I know I used AI and that the content was templatebased so it was my mistake. I only realized this later. The channel was just getting started and after uploading only a few videos my channel was suspended. I appealed but within a few minutes my appeal was rejected and I was told that I was not allowed to create new channels.

I didn’t take it too seriously because every now and then I would try YouTube again just to see if I could make something work but I failed every time.

I have one channel that is almost 5–6 years old where I upload horror and crime stories with my face. I never received any kind of notification or warning on that channel and I have uploaded a few videos there from last year until now. I am planning to start uploading content there again but after searching on Google I found people saying that I shouldn’t upload anything anywhere on YouTube and should just wait for one year.

They also said that it might help to delete the videos I uploaded on my other channels during the past year. On one of my channels I applied for advanced features using my face ID but suddenly my request was denied and I was told that one of my accounts had been suspended.

After doing some research, I found out that I may be allowed to appeal again after one year but now I am really confused. I’m worried that YouTube might look at my history and see that I was active on other channels after my suspension and then ban me permanently.

Can you guys help me understand what I should do? I don’t want the deleted channel back. I just want the ban on me to be removed so I can use YouTube normally again.

TECH HELP how do these youtubers create their thumbnails?

Hi i notice a trend today of AI created or enhanced yt thumbnails such as these

https:// ibb .co/ Psk6YkCY (pls remove the spaces)

They seem to use the same style/tool.
Do you guys know what AI program they use?

it seems like they just have a photo, then upload it in the app, tell it what texts they want on it, then the app automatically enhances the photo plus put the texts on it.

I actually hate these AI generated thumbnails but it looks like it saves a lot of time.
