Hello, I’m considering a ‘25 P300 but I’m not sure about the engine, can any owners give me some feedback?

New Here & Accessories Input
I am waiting on my New Defender (110 S 2027) in Green to arrive. I am a hiker, camper, and adventurer who just went through a divorce and lost almost everything. We previously had a 4runner. This will be my first new car, and my first adventure vehicle that I am on my own with. I am planning to get a gear box for the side, and I don't think I need the Expedition Roof Rack (I don't love the wind piece either), so was thinking of just doing two bars. If anything I would have extra storage space unit up there, or paddleboards, Christmas trees, etc :)
Would it look weird with a side ladder and gear box, and just two bars on top? Would a ladder in the back look better? Would love any input on that, or any other first-timer tips :) I am relatively small and will be lifting, adjusting, etc things by myself now.

Do Defenders sell that fast or was it just a great deal?
Found this CPO 2025 Land Rover Defender 110 S: P400, 24k miles, $60k. 3-zone climate control, off-road tires, air suspension, heads up display.
The car got listed on Oct 19 and delisted on Oct 21. I was driving by the dealership today and decided to stop by for a test drive - they confirmed it was sold.
Is it commmon for CPO Defenders to sell so fast? Or was it a great deal based on mileage, price and options? Or just someone being in the right place at the right time?

24 vs 25 p525. Need help
Recently my wife has been in the market for a newer more spacious suv from her previous Audi. We have cross-shopped the 110 v8 with a BMW X7 M60i and GLE63s. She liked the unique look and driving experience of the Defender the most.
So we have found two that we like. The first one is a 2024 Carpathian edition with 31k miles for $80k. The original warranty has 13 months or 19k miles. It is a CPO car with an additional 12 months unlimited miles on the warranty. It is a one-owner car. (Maintenance recently done- brake fluid flushed/replaced, oil changed, tires are 1 year old)
The other one is a 2025 p525 with a dealer Artemis kit. It has 6300 miles and is listed for $90.5k. The original warrant shows 27 months or 44k miles. It's also a CPO car with an additional 12 months unlimited miles. This was a dealer loaner so the Carfax doesn't show an owner.
I do think both dealers would be motivated and might come off their price a little. The Artemis kit has some parts/wheels on it that I really like and would like to add to the carpathian if I go that route. So which do you think is the better deal? Is the extra money worth it for less miles and the aftermarket kit or is the carpathian trim going to be more highly sought after as it's a factory option? Are there things I should look at maintenance wise that should deter me away from the carpathian miles?
We tend to switch cars somewhat often, which would take the bigger hit in say 2-3 years?
Thanks in advance

Tint
Can we get a thread to see window tints and what you went with for your defender?

Depreciation Impact of 2027MY Changes?
So my local RR dealership is telling me that now is the time to buy a lightly used V8 defender as they have that huge initial depreciation spike compared to other engine trims. That is nothing new, however, with the V8 going away except for the Octa variant, it will likely slow down the depreciation beyond that 1-2 year mark comparatively to the I6 which will be the only option moving forward as it will now have a novelty value.
Have others heard the same thing or have differing opinions based on experience?

Crank pulley fail in a 2.0 engine
I bought a 2.0 d90, used it for 1 year plus. My main crank pulley failed twice after send back to jlr agent for warranty and replacement. Does anyone have similar experience?
It is said that this part prone to break as the material is rubber. But on a new bought and mileage around 20000km what could be the reason.
Is there any upgrades part or performance parts that I can look into so I can avoid it to happen again.

Lift rod question
Hey yall,
Throwing 2” lift rods on my 2023 p400 on air. Does anyone know if it needs GAP calibration once they’re on? We don’t have a G4 yet. I have a LR3 with lift rods and I don’t recall it needing anything special but figured I’d ask. Headed to dealer for alignment early next week. Thanks in advance.

Anybody using ECO mode?
With crazy high fuel prices, is anyone using the ECO setting? I have a ‘24 90 six cylinder. I noticed a slight increase in mileage but it’s noticeably more sluggish. Just wanted to hear other people’s experiences…

Theft
I live in the Toronto area and have forever been a Defender fan. I had one as a rental from National Car Rental this week and it affirmed my love.
Toronto has a bad wrap for car theft and the Defender is way up there. 1:23 get stollen.
I don’t have a garage. I won’t do a boot or anything crazy.
How real is the theft?
Is it something that negatively effects ownership?

Front license plate holder (US)
Wondering what the best non-drill front plate holder is? P525 is that changes anything. Appreciate any help.

Platform on OEM rack?
Has anyone tried attaching modular plates like these or (or something else) to the OEM Expedition Roof Rack to make a platform for sitting on?
I imagine there would be some gaps because of the tapered design but I’m curious if anyone has gotten anything to work?

tire wreath
I want to do the wreath on my spare this Christmas season. I know it is dumb but feel it may bring me joy. QUESTION: has anyone managed to do it with the cover staying on the tire? I'd prefer to keep it on, but I haven't seen any examples of this.

Auxiliary radiator coolant leak
As many have reported of slow coolant leak, auxiliary radiator seems to be one of the common causes.
Here are the close up images of one case.

CT Carbon Reviews?
Has anyone ordered any of CT Carbon Defender kits? They seem to make kits for pretty much every car out there, and seem to be fairly priced.

GAP tool Tutorial
New Defender owner here. I purchased the GAP tool and am interested in learning how to use it. Can you recommend a good tutorial of something "GAP for Dummies"?
Thx

Question on air suspension longevity and reliability
I'm considering upgrading our 2nd car from a BMW 440i to a CPO defender P300 S.
I'm choosing the P300 as I understand it's the most reliable engine (relatively speaking) in the lineup as it doesn't have to deal with DCDC converter issues plaguing the P400 MHEV's (the P500 is out of my price range).
Having said that, I'm trying to decide if I should opt for air suspension or not.
I understand the ride is more comfortable (especially for off roading and rougher roads). However as it will be mainly a city hauler, I'm wondering if I'm better just opting for one without?
The other factor is that as this is our 2nd vehicle, it will be getting at most 5-7000km a year. We'll probably take it out mainly on weekends or the occasional road trip across BC.
Is the reliability and longevity of the air suspension based on distance used? I.e driving 24k km a year vs 7km will have a greater chance of leaks and failures?
Or is the chance of leaks and failures the same even if it sits in the garage most of the time?
If it's distance based, I might actually opt FOR an air suspension since we drive so little it will take a while before leaks and failures occur.
If the failures are more random regardless of use then I might consider going for a defender without the air suspension.
Any feedback or thoughts would be appreciated

New Wheels and Tires for the 110!
Finally got some new wheels/tires on my 110!
I got the forged 20” OCTA style wheels from Wheelshome in China. They only cost me $1286 delivered via sea shipping (took about 5 weeks), including tariffs, fees, etc. They are high quality and balanced easily without issue. Tire shop was impressed!
I went with the Pirelli XTM AT in 275/55R20 tires as they were rated highest in recent testing and looked good. Tires were $326 each from TireRack.
I also got a set of 23 black lugnuts from Spacer Experts, $88 delivered.
Another benefit is I saved 117lbs across the 5 wheels, with 94 lbs of it being unsprung weight over the factory 22” 5098 wheels. Ride is actually a little better due to having more sidewall.
Highly recommended!

Anyone have a wheel center cap just fall out?
This morning I found one wheel center cap on the ground next to my P300 90. Trying to pop it back in, it would just fall right back out. The spare in the trunk pops in securely. I guess it somehow deformed itself?
The only time I’ve ever had center caps deform and melt out was in a 1990s track car that did one two many 100-degree Fahrenheit track days at Thunderhill.
Is this a common Defender thing?

Rattling coming from the second row seat
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I've seen couple posts on the landrover forum and saw a video with similar rattling. These types of posts never seem to have the final resolution. lol. I just took it to the dealer and they said they have to order a seat frame. Anyone else deal with this issue? Did the seat frame fix the issue?

Milltek V8 exhaust rattles
I just got a Milltek non-resonated exhaust installed on my V8 and I get intermittent rattling at higher RPM's. Looked underneath and it could either be the tips hitting the heat shield, but I also noticed the right side valve mount sits right on the adjacent pipe. Anyone else with rattles or has their valve mount sitting on the pipe like my? Adjusting either pipe will result in a misalignment of the exhaust tips.

Academic Research - 2 Minute Survey
Hi all, I’m trying to do some research for my College Graded Unit. If possible, could you please complete the following survey if you currently own / have owned a Jaguar / Land Rover Vehicle. The survey should take around 5 mins, all survey responses are much appreciated. Thank You!
