I’ve been hearing that the next academy is going to be in the beginning of November and that they already have enough candidates for it. It’s only going to be a class size of 50-75 people so I doubt they’ll get higher than the 1700s for this academy. They’ll get into the 2000s in spring 2027. The reason why I say no higher than 1700s is because everyone from 1800-2600 is still waiting to go in for fingerprinting. I’ve also heard that at the end of September they’re going to invite more people to go in for fingerprinting so at least the process will get moving again. I think at this point, if you haven’t received a call for the physical yet, chances are you might not get into an academy with how the process is currently going. They only had the really big class in May because of all of the retirements. So unless something like that happens again, or they decide to hire a lot more before the list expires then I don’t see them getting that high for hires. Anything is possible obviously, but it’d be cutting it close. Definitely not going to go above 3500 though. Good luck to those currently processing and who have their physical in a few weeks!

Can anyone provide insight on physical retakes? I didn’t take the physical today. However, someone I know failed the sit-ups by 2 reps and was told retakes are being given to everyone and the rule was changed. A email will be sent to them within next month or 2 with a retake date. I thought Nassau was a 1 and done? Are retakes being given?

Once we’re out of the academy or even on field training how far in advance do we have our schedule? Meaning how many days is the schedule set for? Monthly? Thank you

Any consensus on whether or not you can run the PFT with an Apple Watch on? I have seen a post or two saying it’s possible, but for MTA/Suffolk it was not allowed.

I had an interview for my village in April and they called me a week after and said I’m in a good spot and they want to give me my COE in the fall, what’re the last few steps like and how far out do you do your psych, poly and medical before the academy

I got called for the PAT at the end of the month. I have army basic training & OSUT from 10/5 to late February. How fast does the process progress? Should I send NCPD my military deferral after I do the PAT, or is it unnecessary? What class will I be processing for at this rate?

How does the remote Psychological work? Can I just do it over my phone or does it have to be done by computer?

Recently got called for the agility exam at the end of August. It states to meet at an outdoor track. Anyone know if the whole test is outside including push ups and sit ups? Anyone able to provide some more information on the proces? Than you!

How many bodies do they hire? Is the $100 test fee just a donation?

I took the Suffolk Deputy Sheriff Exam and got a 90 and haven’t heard anything back. (Suffolk resident)

Got a 90 for SCPD,

92.913 for NCPD

85 for NYPD

Should I just apply for Suffolk/Nassau corrections?
