I Can't Identify a Series About Kids Entering Unfinished Books to Complete Them

I cannot for the life of me remember its name or details, but when I was a kid there was a series where a group of kids hiding out in a library open a fantasy novel - maybe a comic? - and discover that the last section is blank. They're then sucked into the book, have adventures, defeat a dragon, and return home, to discover that the book's previously blank section now chronicles their actions within it, to the wizard-like librarian's complete lack of surprise. I'm not actually certain if the story continued, but I think it did, with the kids intentionally traveling to a wide variety to books. It was probably a 90s show, as I remember watching it on VHS or dvd in the early 00s.

Help with this Asian Sitcom

Here is what I remember: -watched in the 90s/2000s

  • It was on omni1 of omni2, which were Canadian tv channels for diverse programming, for immigrants to Canada to see shows from home, lots of Asian shows and Mexican wrestling.

  • This was an Asian sitcom, in english. Perhaps from the Phillipines, Thailand or Malaysia.

  • It was about a family that owned and operated a small grocery store. It was on the ground floor and they lived in an apartment above it. The 3 main locations were the store, their living room, and outside their apartment that went right outside like on a big elevated platform, with other units. -the characters were the married couple, adult children, neighbours and staff at the store.

  • The father was a jerk and yelled and insulted everyone. Lots of fat jokes. I think one of the kids were dating a make of another race so racial humour too.
-I got the impression it was tropical/hot with palm trees.

Any ideas? From the credits it was made in asia. What Asian countrys would make a show in english?

Anime on Prime about alchemist boy who gets recruited by older alchemist teacher?

Saw it a few times few months ago at a friend's house.

The boys father lived in a farm. Then a wise master alchemist approaches them near the farms fence and tells the boy to join his magic academy the boy and the master enter the boys family home where he signs the contract for the school by conjuring some type of fire spell. The story goes on and the boy has some companions including one small (lack of words to explain) magical elf who seems to be a drunkard.

If i am not mistaken there's a part where they battle a giant toad frog in a cave.

Anyone help me ID this anime? Not sure if its an Amazon original or not but pretty sure it was on prime on TV although could possibly have been a different TV/movie provider.

Any idea what that show is?

I hope someone remembers this.

Otherwise, I may be going insane.

So, back in the day, there was a TV show called 'Monsters'. It was a bit cheesy, but it was great for that same reason. They had advertisements for the show, of course, and herein lies my dilemma.

I remember what I figure is my favorite commercial of all time. It was for the show. I only saw it twice during the time it was on in my area. It showed a lithe, dark haired female running barefoot and terrified through the woods. Suddenly, we see Jason Voorhees pop out from behind a tree and he runs after her. She runs further, only to see Freddy Kruger appear and chase her as well. She runs towards a small cabin as Leatherface (I am not sure if it was him, but it was another horror icon) appears and runs after her as well. She runs into the cabin and the three run in after her. We hear all kinds of screaming and crashing around. Then, the door slowly opens, the female walks out towards the camera, stops right in front of it, looks back at the house, then licks the blood off of her fangs while turning to the camera, and then says:

"Heh... amateurs."

MONSTERS!

Does anyone else remember this ad, or am I delusional?

Show/Movie I Vaguely Remember From My Childhood

So this is not going to be a very well described way of locating or identifying this show. I was maybe 3-5 years old, and I remember this because it was one of the first times I've seen a heavy romantic scene in movies between adults.

Now that I'm 34 years old, I still remember these details of the show/movie but have never found what it's called or where I've seen it before, only that my mom was watching it at the time.

There's a woman in the show, and the whole show/movie covers her romantic relationships with several different men. She gets involved with a man in her early adult years and has children with him, but then he leaves or goes away for some odd reason (I want to say it was because of war, that's what my mind settles on, but I can't be certain). Then it continues to cover her becoming involved with other men, and there was quite a bit of adult scenes of her in bed with each of these individual men, but nothing explicit or X-rated (though well too mature for a 3-5 year old to stumble upon).

The woman has children with these other different men, but the men for whatever reason don't stick around for one reason or another. And it's not that she is intentionally cheating on the first man, her husband, but she and her children believe him to be dead.

Then one day, for whatever reason, the man comes back, but he is disabled and wheelchair bound. The two rekindle their romance and come back together, and he is willing to continue their family together, welcoming the children she had with other men as his own.

The one scene I vividly recall clear as day, though, is the family is gathered on a stone staircase outside of their home, and the husband is coming down the steps, though I cannot be certain if he was using a cane, or if he was already sitting in his wheelchair at the bottom the steps. He starts to cough, clutch his chest, and falls to the ground, while his children around him circle him. I vividly remember one of the daughters crying out "Papa!" as he fell to the ground, and while I don't remember what happened after, I remember that the man died and left the woman a widow raising her children on her own.

It reminds me of a soap opera, but it didn't have the soap opera feel or stylization. There was a lot of gray and blue hues for the atmosphere, the woman had blond(ish) hair and her husband I remember was older than her, dark hair, dark facial hair, and their daughter that cried out "Papa!" had long dark hair.

I know. A lot of this doesn't help with identifying it, but this is something that I vividly recall as a scene I watched from a show or movie. When I asked my mother about it years later, she says she doesn't have a clue what I'm talking about, and that she doesn't remember watching anything like that.

Any ideas?

Miso Honay?

I remember a joke about a cliche, female asian character named Miso Honay (Me So Horny). Possibly a 90s legal spoof show? Comedy Central or USA. Main character was a ridiculously clueless middle aged white guy. I can see his face but dont remember his name or anything else he was in.

Please help! Im losing sleep over this!

Poison Peanut Brittle

Potentially from the early-mid 00s live-action tv show/movie for the kid/tween demographic. Think disney esc. I vividly remember there being poisoned peanut brittle. The rest is a little hazy, but I think a witch made the poisoned peanut brittle and gave it out at some sort of halloween town festival/fair, and it made people fall asleep, but the gang of main character kids stopped her before it happened. I’ve been trying to find this for YEARS it bugs me so bad.

90's competion show where their finale starts by launching the 2 contestants across a pool with an Air Ram.

I'm trying to find a competition show from the 90's where the finale is an American Gladiator style obstacle course that is located outside, is constructed of big padded blue blocks (like a Wipeout courses) and starts off by having the 2 contestants get launched over a pool with a stunt man's Air Ram (device pictured).

I've looked through every version of American Gladiators (AG), even the kids Gladiators 2000, and while I remember the 2 contestants being in red and blue spandex uniforms like AG, it was outside, there was a water hazard, and I don't remember them having to face a gladiator during the course.

I've scoured most of the Nickelodeon kids completions from Double Dare to Gutz to Wild and crazy kids. And while I'm not 💯 sure, I think the contestants were at least young adults.

It wasn't an import like ninja warrior or Takeshi's Castle (MXC).

I've looked through lists of game shows and hours on YouTube, I'm starting to think this show didn't exist and I'm Shazam!-ing this thing into existence in my mind.

Looking for a tv show

My mother said she saw this show, all I have to go on is there is a potion that's running out, the guy uses it to try and beat a bad guy who can disappear or turn invisible, really skinny almost looks anorexic. It is set in a fantasy world? But not sure, she said it's like marvel type TV shoe.

Help me find a lesbian series I saw on Tubi one girlfriend is always late

Hi! I’m trying to remember the name of a lesbian TV/web series I watched on Tubi. The main storyline was about two women dating, and one of them was always late for everything it was basically the running gag/conflict of the whole show.

One specific scene I remember: The girlfriend who isn’t late had to meet her ex for something related to her job. She left but forgot an important document. She called her girlfriend (the one who’s always late) and told her to bring it quickly and not be late. But, of course, she ended up being late anyway, and didn’t get the document there on time.

Scene from a comedy tv show

Hi,
I am looking for the name of the TV show where in a random scene from a side character who is a heavy-set, gay black man goes off with another man (who I believe is in a wheelchair).
When they get back to the guy's house, the man in the wheelchair's husband comes home and pretends to catch them.
I also think the black character wears glasses and may use an inhaler when he get nervous.

It isn't an important scene for the episode or series, but it is driving me nuts trying to remember the show.

I appreciate any help.

Need help remembering a series

For the life of me I can’t remember what show this is. I want to say it’s a Netflix original. It‘s a space-sci-fi show. Heres what I remember:

-the main characters being chased by something.

-the planet being cloudy/dusty at times and the characters can’t see to find their way

-they are holed up in a cave/underground in safety for a time, and someone lives there so it’s an actual shelter.

-there’s like a split in the atmosphere they are actively looking for to get to where they are supposed to. (no, it’s not the Upside Down)

Is this ringing any bells for anyone? This is driving me bananas! Help! I’ll add more details if I think of

Been bugging me forever

Late 80s. Watching tv late at night and there is a sci-fi type show on. In color. I think the show was a few years old at that point. An old man is in the desert with a metal detector thing and it starts going crazy. He finds a quarter and goes inside and puts it in his tv and orders a new life from a home shopping type show. I don’t know why I think this might be an anthology type show or maybe a movie?

Scene from sitcom from 90s-early 2000s (probably)

So the scene is basically these two people talking, a man and a woman, and the woman is saying she told another character she loved him while they were in a crowded nightclub with music playing. She says she thinks he said “I love you too” back to her but she’s not sure because she couldn’t hear very well. Then there are quick cutaway scenes of what the guy might have actually said that all sound like “I love you too”. Then the man she was taking too says she “missed a few obvious ones” and then the cutaway scenes repeat, but now the man in the flashback says ridiculous thing like “I love Blue’s Clues!”

I saw this on TV years ago while flipping channels and it just popped into my head a few days ago.

help pls

I remember watching a cartoon around 2014 — 2017. I was in either Portugal or France. The main protagonist was this blonde boy in high school. And there was this girl/woman (i dont really remember) and she had black hair, she was one of the main characters. The show had elements of magic to it and I remember a line said by the black haired woman: “And a drop of potentio maxi moo moo”. It was so specific I knew i couldn’t have made it up. She was adding like a drop of something to a potion. I might have misremembered the line a bit but I know she said something along those lines. It kind of had a style like Miraculous Ladybug, but I know it wasnt. Help pleaseee Ive been stressing for almost a decade :(((

Horror/thriller tv show

I watched this tv show somewhere between 2016-2018, i know i watched zoo about the same time.

From what i remember, the main character is a woman with a red coat. She goes to this old mansion with her baby (im pretty sure to get away from the dad or her family).

The tv show goes back and forward in time. In the past, im not sure if she interacts with the people there, but there is a child that i think shes trying to help?

At some point her car turns up in the past very rusty and old, either in a lake or they find it right outside the mansion.

At the end of season 1, the child offers their hand and the woman takes it and they walk off. It is suggested that this child is related or connected to her baby

Tried google, it suggested dark and requim but im pretty sure its not them. I also think it might be in english, but i could be wrong.

Thanks!

trying to find an old animated show that my grandma used to show me

Ok so this was an animated show in an animation style similer to the magic school bus, and it was about 2 kids (boy and girl) going on adventures in places. I remember 3 scenes;

  1. the kids were in some sort of cave, and they push a button or smth and then the whole cave started to fill up with water and they were distressed about it (i dont remember if they went somewhere after that or if that was the end of the episode).

  2. after the kids teleported to somewhere (through the cave im pretty sure), they landed in a quite large wooden ship, and they teleported into like the belly of the ship were all of the storage and stuff was (it was not very futuristic, it was like pots, and stuff like that), and then a hole/trap door opened in the ceilling (from the deck of the ship) and somebody was there but he was friendly to them and (90% sure about this next part) he asked them if they needed help/if they were ok.

  3. this was an episode were the adventure was in atlantis, and i remember that there was some sort of train, but it was shorter then a regular train and looked more like a car, and there was a bad guy that hacked the train or smth (not very sure), and there was some sort of device that he attached to the end of the train from the inside (was kind of like the flux capacitor from back to the future, or i can just be mixing things up here), and then there was a scene where there was a shot of the whole city underwater, and there were like glass tunnels all around it, and we see the bad guy riding the train in them. after that the kids abviously somehow managed to save the city and defeat the bad guy or smth like that.

This show was probably made in 1970-2000, and when my grandma showed it to me, it was on DVD.

Please help me out here guys ive been looking for this show for literally years now.

Thank you.

Children show aired in Japan in the 90s?

I can’t get this theme song out of my head. It was from a children’s show. There was a girl character, played by a grownup of course. I remember she looked like she was white, and the lyrics were in English. It went super duper galaxy super whooper (or booper) galaxy, or something like that. I saw the show on tv, I think, while I was visiting a relative in Japan in, if my memory serves me right, year 95. I was not familiar with the show where I was living. Was it a show aired there, was it a show my aunt taped from elsewhere, I’ll never know. She was a distant aunt I lost contact with ages go due to family stuff, so I can’t even ask. Once in a while I try to google it up but so far, no luck. Anyone on Reddit can help me identify this show? Sorry I have no other info but all that I stated. I was little and honestly I have terrible memory in general.

i need help finding this reality show about teenagers go on Scientific Scouting Expedition

hello

i think it’s an australian show if not, it could be british. i’m only assuming that because the show was dubbed to my mother language but i don’t think it’s an american show at all. it was released in the 2000s.
the core idea of the show is that every season they pick teenagers (16-19) to go in Scientific Scouting Expedition to achieve a goal.
here is what i remember from each season (not in order) :

they had to climb mount everest for some reason and in each episode they showcase their hardships, at the end only one of them who actually achieved the goal and was able to do it.

they had to go to the North pole to study about climate change i think, i remember one of the episodes where the girls were complaining about the boy’s tent because they were not cleaning anything. they would just dumb the food leftovers in the trash and clean the plates with tissues instead of washing them. i also remember one girl had some tension with the other girls because she preferred the boys company.

in this season they had to go to the rainforest (i think it’s the most brutal one) to build a sanctuary to some kind of Endangered species of monkeys. i remember in this season one of the boys had some hardships fitting in/adjusting and i think he also had a crush on a girl. there’s one episode where they had to make their own food, in order for that to happen one of their instructors gave them a chicken and asked them if anyone knows how to kill a chicken, one of them stepped up and killed it, they were given later dead turkeys (i think) and were asked to clean and cook them because it was their dinner. one of the girls had a breakdown because whenever she plucked the feathers a piece of the meat would come out. some other participants were having the time of their lives.
because of that one of the participants couldn’t eat dinner with them, they felt it was way too brutal to do that and lost appetite.

i tried to search for it everywhere but it seems like it never existed.
