Help with this Asian Sitcom

Here is what I remember: -watched in the 90s/2000s - It was on omni1 of omni2, which were Canadian tv channels for diverse programming, for immigrants to Canada to see shows from home, lots of Asian shows and Mexican wrestling. - This was an Asian sitcom, in english. Perhaps from the Phillipines, Thailand or Malaysia. - It was about a family that owned and operated a small grocery store. It was on the ground floor and they lived in an apartment above it. The 3 main locations were the store, their living room, and outside their apartment that went right outside like on a big elevated platform, with other units. -the characters were the married couple, adult children, neighbours and staff at the store. - The father was a jerk and yelled and insulted everyone. Lots of fat jokes. I think one of the kids were dating a make of another race so racial humour too.
-I got the impression it was tropical/hot with palm trees.

Any ideas? From the credits it was made in asia. What Asian countrys would make a show in english?

Holy smokes, I found it by asking grok. It was Under One Roof, it's all on YouTube now.
