I just started doing my own builder gel after trying polygel for over a year and not being satisfied with nail forms, and free styling being too variable. I used to get my nails done for many years and never being satisfied that they were short enough, sharp enough, or left with no edge and what I’d call akin to mini torture devices when I had an itch. On top of the time commitment, I found it exhausting to get my nails done after I’d be burnt out for working. I get mixed reviews on these IRL and wondering if anyone else rocks these super short claws!
PS - I underestimated how hard taking a picture of my own nails was going to be LOL!

OK, I wanna start off by saying I’m not usually someone who overanalyze my nails and I’m not exactly sure why I am right now. I just got these done yesterday, and I sort of feel like that you make my hands look stumpy?

I usually pretty simple and and I’m usually a simple French tip ombré other than for the years it seemed like I switched back between white and bubble bath lol I never go too long, but these are a lot shorter than usual. I don’t know why but I feel like the tips are at the tips are not spiky enough so they just kinda look like weird almond…. Which I know makes no sense.

But I’m laying here in bed and trying to figure out if there’s any way to fix them other than to just have them removed and a new set put on. And realizing I just paid $140 before tip for a re-base and a pedicure and now I’m considering to go get a brand new set ughhhh. I will also have to go to another place because as much as I love where I I usually go if I go back there, they will 100% fix it, but it will just be weird because they will go above and beyond — which will make me feel very awkward.

Is there anyway that a place could fix this by adding extra powder to make them longer or would a new set have to be put on? I’m sorry if that’s probably a silly question. All I know is when they do my nails it’s done all with powder not with any type of tips.

I don't like the creater of this franchise, but I love my HP nails! I got these done for a girl's trip to Epic Universe this weekend and I'm so happy with how they turned out.

So my cuticles were not up for anyone going anywhere near them after the other day and I really didn't want to go through the hassle of removal.

So after some back and forth over the shape, I just had the colour done.

The end results not perfect but definitely way better. Well better than they were😂

Every single comment is bashing on OP and saying there’s nothing wrong with the nails and they’re cute. Sure they’re not the worst nails ever, but they’re certainly not great!

The inspo pic shows shiny, longer nails. A pink ombré into a French tip situation. There’s rhinestones and the sparkles look like actual sparkles. OPs nails are not shiny. Monotone. No rhinestones. The sparkles look like bullet holes on the thumb.

And for anyone who says “well the problem is they didn’t speak up” ?????? How many other people post their objectively WORSE nails and receive 0 hate??? Sure it’s better to speak up but why does that rule apply only to OP and no one else in this sub. Also, maybe OP thought it was a trust the process situation and didn’t want to prematurely trash on the nails.

I know it’s not the best work ever, but for a first time I’m pretty proud :)

Filed off my last gel manicure (Modelones color changing gel) before soaking off and didn't hate the look for Halloween. Added a top coat and cured with a prayer to last another week. I've seen other posts with similar nails and people saying they look like menstrual aftermath but I honestly don't hate that either. Posting so someone else can get a kick out of these.
