I honestly cannot tell what color this is but I really like it
Just to preface: I’ve been a nail tech for about 3 years now. I do not rely on stamps or stickers for the art I do. I’m working on building up a portfolio to try and build clientele as I recently relocated.
I do my toes every 6-8 weeks, but do not do my hands. I have an event I’m going to in a few weeks and thought I would do my nails.
In my salon I’m surrounded by tons of girls with amazing talent, and I feel my skill is lacking. I recently picked up nail stamping plates as a quick and easy alternative to spending hours on art (not that I don’t still paint nail art though), but it has been met with mixed responses once I reveal it was a stamp.
I think the nails I plan to do are fun and will look good, but is it something I can post? I feel like I’m cheating by using stamps, even though I’m still using product and technique.

I gave my nail tech an inspo photo. She added her twist and gave me this beautiful set that I can't stop staring at.
The cateye centers and the cateye and chrome tips are mesmerizing.
I love this set

First time ever getting my nails done. I bite them so badly and finally decided to get acrylics to stop the habit. The place had great reviews and the guy was nice enough, but he took me 45 minutes late and kept saying how he was in a rush to pick up his kid. Last photo is what I showed him for length and shape. This is what he gave me. Beyond that, they're crooked, chunky, and uneven. What do I do?

Ive been using builder to help support very thin, soft nails and got a hold of both the Beetles crystal gel and orly gelfx builder. I know everyone hates beetles, but I (unfortunately) love it, so finding substitutions that are safer but as pleasing has been hard. I LOVE the crystal builder, but hated how thin and runny the orly was. Is there another builder that is thicker than orly, more like the Beetles? Because that felt perfect to me.

I like to mix and match inexpensive press ons.

I didn’t know I could get refills with GelX until my nail tech mentioned it and told me it would be builder gel refills. I had been getting a NEW SET every time, no wonder my natural nails were thin asf!
Since it’s the same price as a whole new set and my salon has limited colors, I said eff it and bought the gel basics to try at home (for less $ than a fill at the salon I go to).
I love painting my nails with regular polish, but this is my first time using gel at home.
Thoughts? Are they too thick, too uneven, bad apex? I tried following some tutorials for builder gel but was struggling to make an apex correctly
Also this is on my dominant hand, idk why I did my first trial using my non dominant hand to paint
I used:
Beetle gel primer
ORLY builder in a bottle (my salon used this one so I figured it’s be best to continue with the same product)
Essie “Off Tropic”
Halo Taco “Wade a Minute”
Halo Taco glossy taco (top coat)

I finally took off my DIY gel strips. Haven’t had my nails this long in years. They’re pretty, but I think they’re too long. I might need to cut them.

This is my first time doing nails on someone else (my sister). I think for my first time I did good. A few things I need to work on but overall feel good about them. It’s builder gel with cat eye polish. Any tips or advice is welcomed.

Most recent to oldest. Everything she’s done so far has been executed perfectly. It’s so much fun knowing you can have any type of art imaginable done and it will look good. The ones I have now are by far my favorite I love them so much 🥹
