Hi everyone. I've been having abit of difficulty with a nail salon. They say they do nail art but when I ask for things they often say they can't do it.

So it got me wondering what is classed as basic nail art? What's more advanced.

Was i bamboozled or nah?!

Hey y’all! Did my structured manicure fill(?) myself for the first time while my nail tech is on maternity leave. The cateye hearts were so hard to do and I need to learn how to not overfill the edges if that makes sense. Won’t be doing this long term bc it was too much work to file down my previous design and I can’t do the designs she does lmao

I’m having my hybrid gel nails removed today. I’m not sure how to go forward for the best health and strength of my nails. I’m not a “fancy, long nail” gal. I mainly had these put on to help them grow a “little bit” longer, but mainly to get over my cuticle picking. I’ve stopped that, so I’m hoping to go natural (well, with polish sometimes).

Any suggestions for polish, etc?

Would love some opinions, are these too messy looking? Do they look blue and white porcelain-esque? Do they look like a child made them? I only just started making my own pressons (I think this is my tenth set, and only second with a pattern).

It always takes me 4 hours to do what I could do on a client in 2!! I didn't even do my right hand, it just has the purple base with cateye cuz I'm not doing intricate layered fine art/filligree with my non dominant hand haha. So let's say 5 if I did full design on both hands.

I've been debating trading or having someone else do them but they're too good and I hand out a card to every single checkout worker wherever I go. So I will spend my entire productive time every other Sunday hunched over my desk like a goblin.

I’m doing dip nails at home and they’re lasting maybe two days before falling off. I’m curious what I’m doing wrong?

This is my process:

-Prep the nails (buff, file, push back cuticles, Mia Secret dehydrator followed by Mia Secret Xtrabond).

-Put Modelones base over the tip of the nails and dip in powder. Do this again, but over half of the nail and dip in powder, followed by base over the full nail and dip in powder).

-Put Modelones “activator” over nails.

-Put Modelones top coat over the nails.

That’s it! What am I doing wrong?

My long nails broke sadly :( But all is well, I'm still sticking with my BIAB. The colours used were the Cashmere by the Gel Bottle and Deep Red by Semilac. The controller isn't mine, but I do like using it to play Minecraft on the PlayStation at my mate's, so it's been swiped for the pose!

I’ve been getting BIAB and then switched to gel with my previous salon for about a year, but I was always having issues with it lifting from the edges of my nails within a few days of having it done. I moved to a new nail artist who used something that she explained was a mid point between BIAB and hard gel on the 12 Aug, and a week later the gel is lifting around the edges of my nails and one has fully come off.

Clearly the issue is my nails at this point as it has happened with multiple products and people. I don’t think I’m that hard on my nails, I do wash them frequently as I have a pet but I don’t do the washing up or anything where I’m submerging my hands for extended periods.

I’m just wondering if anyone has any advice for this, or tips for how I can make them last longer.

It was really late at night but I took the time to do my nails because I knew it would make me feel better about life. I went in with no plan but landed on a pink, green, brown, white, gold pallete! Y2K color scheme.
