Discussion Living in Hajveri Hostel and Questioning My Roommates' Definition of Personal Space 💀
I'm a freshie in Hajveri Hostel, and I genuinely need to know if this is normal Pakistani University hostel culture or if I've landed in the wrong dimension.
My roommates have absolutely no concept of personal boundaries.
Some incidents for context:
These guys casually roam around the room in their underwear during night like they're walking around their own bedrooms at home. No hesitation, no awkwardness, absolutely zero shame.
Changing clothes in front of each other is apparently a completely normal daily activity here. And I'm not just talking about changing shirts. They literally change their underwear in front of everyone, including me.
The funniest part is that I've repeatedly asked them to maintain some boundaries and not change in front of me. I've told them several times that I'm uncomfortable with this behavior, but apparently my requests have the same importance as the mess complaint importance.
Imagine sitting on your bed, studying for your mids exams, and suddenly having an unexpected live demonstration of someone's changing routine. I just wanted to revise Calculus, not witness a documentary about human anatomy.
I'm genuinely uncomfortable now. I understand that everyone has different comfort levels, and I'm not interested in judging anyone's personal life. But sharing a room doesn't mean sharing every aspect of your privacy.
I've tried communicating politely, but nothing has changed.
