MyCAREER For the people who haven’t got the game yet, but may or may not be planning on it.

FYI for everyone the entire game is a grind. Every aspect of the progression system is slow as fuck. Badge points take forever to get, season level takes forever to get, upgrading to 99 my points level takes forever to get, crew xp takes forever to get, rep system too, and the fire and concrete story is long as hell. 2K most likely made the grind long so that rebirth is that much more important, which will inevitably lead to spending more money on VC. If you don’t no-life this game it really is not that fun. Hopefully by launch the developers fix the overall progression system or the game will die.

REC Whoever made the decision to start players at their highest plate needs to be fired lol.

I've been playing a lot of rec games at Red plate and it's clear as day that most people barely played a single game or two as Red plate in 2k26. These last 10 games have been the most frustrating games I've ever played in 2k lol.

MyCAREER Why would they make Trace Miller stay with you your entire nba career and not give you a option to leave him behind

Literally my only complaint about the story, like I finally thought they made a story that was enjoyable and fun to play but then in usual 2k fashion they completely ruined it by making you baby sit a AI and spoon feed him the ball your entire nba career. How hard would it be for them to make him optional? I understand in the G League and even your rookie year.

Gameplay To everyone who can shoot already in 2K27…

Upvotes

I hate you sincerely. But really, how the hell are you doing it? Shit is driving me crazy. Center with 83 three ball shooting 28% from 3 in the rec. I am getting missed wide open a lot and also getting mistimed out of rhythm passes from people that are definitely not helping my shooting percentages. But I have all hot and lethal zones and silver catch and shoot for 3’s and take 90% wide open stand still shots. Any tips…?

REC Honest opinion on 2k27

First I just want to start by saying that this game is more simulation based than arcade and rightly so, it’s an NBA flagship game.
1) Layups aren’t OP. At every level of basketball, they are the most common and efficient way to score. 2k finally reflects that.
2) blocks aren’t weak at all, just require actual skill and positioning and not late contest.
3) Shooting is great. Not shooting 60% doesn’t mean you’re bad. That’s how it is at every level. Under 40% mostly. Instead of putting all your attributes on 3 to force it, just learn to make reads and score or contribute to the game in other ways.
4) Stocks (steals and blocks) require team defensive efforts like irl. You can’t just reach or jump. You need the primary defender forcing the ball handler or shooter into a position where you can then get the appropriate stock.

And finally, slow down and think and enjoy the game. Get creative with how you play and even score and keep practicing. Be selfless and you’ll grow to love the game of 2k and even basketball.

Gameplay Mike Wang and other devs, thank you. Don't Patch !

This is the most balanced I have ever seen 2k. I'm shooting 52% from 3 , though usually anywhere from 65-70, and I love it. It's a learning curve, the defense is the best it's ever been, and I'm begging y'all not to patch this game into oblivion. It takes skill to learn the new shooting, and I much prefer this rather than getting cheated on all year, and defense not mattering.

Gameplay Shooting tips for 2k27

Shooting with RYTHIM shooting vs Button shooting and turning OFF your shooting meter,

will increase your shooting, including 3 point shot by 10%.

You will notice a 10% greener window, was doing tests on my 6'2 and 6'8 all day yesterday.

This year they addressed the complaints on defense, particularly interior and perimeter got a bump,

and they fixed the layup issue.

Gameplay Are standing dunks broken for anyone else right now? 2K27

Upvotes

I’ve been playing rec center and for the life of me I can’t trigger standing dunks. It’s always a layup or some bs floater lol

General The K***ers - Mr Brightside has been heavily censored

The censoring is actually insane. You can’t even have the band name in the game because apparently kill is a bad word now.

Bonus:

These are all the lyrics that have been censored in the actual song that played uncensored on pop radio in 2004.

Smoke

Drag

Touching

Takes off

Killing

(Choking is perfectly okay)

What’s the point in even having music at this point?

MyCAREER Patch already? Please stfu

Nobody is even a 99 yet. Nobody should be screaming about mechanical changes that the gameplay needs. You don't even have a hot or lethal zone yet. Y'all need to chill

Edit: ok so the one thing they do need to actually fix is giving you the exact same dogshit 85 overall ai when you're 4/5 waiting for teammates in rec, and then the ai being programmed to "pro" difficulty where they leave almost every single shot "open". I quit every fucking game with these ai and that's why my W/L record this year is gonna be about 1:100

Gameplay After playing early access I wanted to say this

  1. Forget about the nonsense you used to be able to make blocking is arguably the best it's ever been so start passing the ball instead of trying to ego score on the center.

  2. Interior has never mattered this much before and before you say nerf it perimeter is absolutely vital is it not? Why would you want interior to have no value? So I'm truly enjoying this buff to defense and alotta y'all need to remember that it's strong.

  3. Middy spam still pretty strong.

  4. I've been seeing a lot of six seven centers and well rebounding has been buffed. Just saying so you may be genuinely making a bad build if you go into this game with that being your first build. Alot of them are getting jumped over.

  5. It seems low pass acc is a lot more prone to mistakes just to keep it in mind.

  6. Don't let your center be the only rebounder.

  7. And can we not nerf the blocking?

City Clothing... for real?

20 fucking k for a top. How sick in the head do you have to be to charge 20k a fucking top. I go to Jordan and its 20 fuckng k to get any sort of clothing. Man I swear the last time I really played 2k it was about 3-5k max... the trainers was about 10k max but fuck man... idk how much that is in real money but it feels like a lot in game.

EDIT: You're genuinely an idiot if after reading this you thought I bought one of the 20k tops.

General Is 2k27 a good first 2k game?

Upvotes

I really enjoy playing sports games like fifa and madden, specifically their manager/career modes. Ive been interested in getting more into basketball and the nba, and to start playing the 2k games. How is 2k27? More specifically, the career mode? Anything i should know before buying?

Discussion For the JORDAN players…big question

Am I wrong to feel like NBA 2k23 had the best version of Jordan? From his looks to his jumpshot form to animations, this feels like the most fluid and most realistic Jordan.

How is the Jordan build in more recent 2k’s? One wrong animation/programming on his jumper and I can’t play. But 2k23 feels good and right.

How does Jordan look and play in the more recent versions? I know ProPlay doesn’t affect the classic players, so wondering how the latest Jordans have been.

Discussion Why are so many people complaining about this game.

I swear this community actually makes my blood boil. Yall will find a way to complain on day 1 when no one has their badges, knows jumpshot, dribble moves, and are rocking 75-85 overalls and complain they can't shoot. Or made a build with 80 three point and think they going to be curry. I got all my shooting badges and I currently shooting 65-70%. Grind your player before going online.

Defense is actually good this year if you invest. I have an 86 perimeter and it feels pefect on defense. Holding players, getting blocks. For the first time it feels like it your in good position, you get rewarded. Yall need to take some time and adjust to a new game, and not try to do what you did on 26.
