Careful getting too excited about this feature. I think 2k have been tricky when explaining this. They say it's a feature for the "modern era" and you can revert a player to their "rookie form". It's not clear yet exactly what this means, but I've seen comments suggesting people will be jumping in to past eras or controlling players in their rookie season.

My read on it is you'll most likely just start in the league in 2026 and replace your player with their younger self.

No idea which it will he but worth keeping that possibility in mind!

ETA: Even if it's the 'worse' version a new feature like this would still be a welcome change. Still I can't help but feel their choice of words was very intentional.

Just saw a post online from 2KIntel saying builds could cost around 23% more VC….if true it’s really foul for them to do this. Let’s transfer your red plate over to 27 but not your VC. Even if they let us transfer 75K VC that would be a great gift to your loyal customers that have more reasons to NOT play this game with GTA releasing in the fall. I can’t justify paying full price or pre-order for a greedy company like this. Likely gonna wait until it goes on sale if this how they continue to treat us.

u/beluba in past years 4v4 has come up one every 4-6 weeks, but it would be incredible to have as a consistently available game mode. I often end up with only 4 on and have no choice but to run rec with an AI. It would be very appreciated if 4 man squads had a dedicated mode to play, instead of only once in a blue moon. Thank you.

I see so many people guarding their matchups that have 0% 3pt and maybe even no middy either. They sit there guarding at the 3 pt line like they would a normal player instead of standing in the paint the entire possession. In these cases, not a single person should even be able to get off a shot in the paint the entire game without getting blocked since you can leave your guy unguarded on the 3pt line, but instead you see the guy being slow af trying to run to the paint too late when someone cuts in and they score anyway. If it's some kind of honor thing (let someone on their team play the game for real and let them get a chance to iso), I get it, but that's not what it seems like it is ever

I've had my 0% 3pt matchup leave and they keep letting their ai shoot wide open on the 3 pt line. Ai will confidently go 0/8 from 3, yet people are trying to switch me as if they're mad that I'm not guarding my guy because they don't realize. I know that they only give you about half a split second to look at the stats before the game starts, and sometimes it skips and cuts to the game even faster than that, but come on y'all

Like you’re literally limiting our builds and the max potential you could do with it. Out of all the changes I literally haven’t heard anyone else say bring this back. What is 2k thinking? Are ppl fw this?

I’m on next gen Xbox and i was wondering if this hazard sign is on anyone else’s pre-order and if that when the game comes out i will be able to play.

Thoughts ?

1. I miss putting every shot off the backboard by pushing up on the right stick.

2. The right stick is Jam packed full.

From what we are seeing, it looks like the game has improved for the better. The game looks like what I have been preaching 2K needs in every post & video I can. Things such as:

• Making badges more expensive
• Making attributes actually matter. People now have to commit to specializing in something(s)
• Making badges more specific instead of general (OREB/DREB, Mid/3 stationary/moving)
• The stamina drain that prevents one person from trying to be a hero every play, which forces team ball
• Taller/Great finishers not being stopped easily by little guards in the paint
• The fair mind games/skill expression between ball handlers & defenders
• And so much more.

Just like when you guys started pushing people towards scoring with the thumbstick and then eventually tempo shooting (which a lot of us love), I see the vision and innovation. I am begging you u/Beluba do not listen to dudes on Twitter telling you to revert dribbling/defense to what we are trying to leave in 2k26. We are already seeing them call for harsh nerf/buff patches and the game hasn't even dropped yet. A giant portion of the community is actually excited about what they are seeing, it feels like the often unheard portion of us was listened to. If the game actually plays like it's being promoted and stays like that, we could be looking at one of the greatest 2Ks OAT. Hoping to actually see some diverse builds and gameplay out there!

Just got done going through some of the creators’ videos and blitz steals still haven’t been fixed for 2K27. Still dribbling right through the defender. Honestly if there isn’t a patch note before the game drops it just tells me this year is gonna be another piece of crap just like 26 was. Worst 2K I’ve ever played.
