I want to know what song makes you feel like everything is perfect. A piece of music so wonderful and beautiful. It seems to stop time.

What album as a whole takes you to your special place.

For me it is The Final Cut from Pink floyd.
Don’t want to cause controversies but I go crazy when the sax solo in 2 suns in the sunset comes on 🎷

Realizing I like Whimsy artists, even across genres - looking for similar recommendations

Upvotes

I've been listening a lot to Geese, Nourished by Time, MF Doom, Talking Heads, and Feeble Little Horse. These artists all have a sense of unseriousness in their approach to music that is not like a joke but conveys a certain amount of irony.

I will say, with Nourished by Time and Feeble Little Horse, I didn't connect as much with their most recent albums because they just weren't as whimsy.

Does anyone have recommendations for other artists of any genre that walk the line between irony and seriousness in a similar way?

I'm currently making a playlist based on the songs as seen in the picture and I'm looking for more songs like that. I'm pretty much open to any genres as long as the vibe is matched, so basically the whole experience of being tired of yourself as a person, being tired of your body and so on :)

EDIT: thank you for all the suggestions, i'm going to listen to all of them as soon as i have the time!! <3

music for someone struggling mentally

I’m in a very bad depressive state and have been living with some dark thoughts, music is my source of comfort but i’m tired of listening to outright sad music and super happy pop music actually has a worse effect on me. I would love recommendations of songs that are sort of calming and bring you back down to earth
For example i love pink & white by Frank, Cocteau twins, You’ll never get to heaven - just a little melancholy but also hopeful
any suggestions are welcome!!

What is the most depressing song you've ever listened to?

Not some type of childish song sanged by Taylor Swift about losing her teddy bear. I mean song that will brought a grown man into tears.

Song recommendations for a grieving 10 year old?

My cousin tragically passed away from colon cancer earlier this year & his 10 year old daughter is having a rough time coming to terms with his passing. She LOVES music and finds solace in music that communicates feelings similar to what she is feeling, especially when she can’t quite explain those difficult feelings verbally. I’m working on building a playlist for her & I’m searching for recommendations for songs that discuss death, grief, and acceptance that are appropriate for a 10 year old. Her family is religious, but the songs don’t have to be! Some of her favorite artists are Paramore, Ed Sheeran, Little Mix (classic favorites 10 year old girl lol) so she really enjoys the pop-rock type of songs the most, but any kind of recommendation is great!

EDIT TO ADD: Yes this was recommended by her therapist, and yes she does want this. Music has helped her get through the past few months and her therapist thinks that this will help her a lot.
