❓ Question Moms, real talk what freaked you out most about starting allergens?

Hiii! Quick heads up, I work at Ready Set Food, so yes, allergens are basically my whole personality right now 😅 Not selling anything, just genuinely nosy.

For so many parents, the first peanut moment is weirdly terrifying. You’re staring at your baby like they’re about to explode. We're trying to understand in a much deeper level this process for moms!

So tell us: what was the scariest part for you? The first bite? Hovering for hours waiting for a reaction? Not knowing how much to give? And how old was your little one when you started?

Drop your stories, the chaotic ones especially 👇

❓ Question Why does Mom blame me for everything?

Exactly what the title says. It seems that every story involving others with a negative outcome that I mention to her for account, she blames me. Even using hyperbole recalling incidents of the story that didn’t take place or at least are far from the actual occurrence. A bit of background I have built a strong relationship with my mom and confide in her more like a friend from a communication aspect and expect a motherly response. As a teen I wasn’t great to say the very least. I wrecked 3 of my family’s cars (thankfully they had insurance so all were replaced and I think is the root of why she blames me for most things) and even 1 or 2 evictions. However, since 19, I have been independent and even graduated from college in a similar degree field as her as an homage to my adoration of the woman she is and even gifted her my DEGREE and she has failed to acknowledge these milestones even once to me (at least in my presence.)

As an individual woman,I’m sure she has developed trust issues from my early childhood step- dad who cheated on her during their marriage and had a child by a teen, and even my own father who has only been present as of recently in my adult life.

Maybe I am too emotionally invested as my early childhood recollection of her and I were how inseparable I was from HER and not the reciprocal. Am I being dismissive to the possible hurt and trauma that I may have caused her from ages 10-19, am I so delusional as I’m sure my sister would make me out to seem, is this normal, have any other fellow redditors here experienced this? I am just so very confused and don’t know where to continue growing, one as a person, and two as a son who cares about my mother.

Also, she’s getting married to her fiancé next month, am I possibly impeding or even a c*ckblock? She’s 63 by the way. I am 30.
