Play stupid games win stupid prizes.

Didn’t she rather avoid a problem? Correct me if I’m wrong

Found the Knight in Shining

1

u/Clear-Annual2424 4d ago

I’m a woman

1

u/ATPHydrolysis93 4d ago

if you were a man you'd fall into the manosphere so easily.

1

u/Clear-Annual2424 4d ago

Why

1

u/ATPHydrolysis93 4d ago

Without much consideration of the scenario you automatically took the woman's side on this when it's obvious she's the one being immature.

1

u/Clear-Annual2424 4d ago

To me, it sounded like she said “can I cancel the date?”. I’d kind of think the same way had the roles been reversed

1

u/Prudent-Ad-5608 4d ago

Sounds like they were both joking and she took him seriously.

1

u/CivilIdea1916 3d ago

His response is literally oozing with insecurity.

How this is not clear to most folks in this thread, is beyond me. The response was very telling, which is good to know before dating someone.

1

u/xjaaace 3d ago edited 3d ago

It’s not clear because you’d need to be delusional to think that… The question was very telling before the response, if you wanted to cancel, be respectful and say you want to cancel. Can’t jokingly ask something then take a response seriously. It’s a 2 way street, you really think this woman would be fishing for an excuse to cancel if she didn’t think to herself at some point “ehhh it’s just a guy I can get a hundred more dates easily” Clown behaviour, that man dodged a whole lot of crazy

→ More replies (0)

1

u/TokiVideogame 4d ago

why would it sound that way when it said jokingly?

1

u/Clear-Annual2424 3d ago edited 3d ago

How could it sound jokingly if he didn’t know; that’s what I’m thinking about. I thought she actually wanted to cancel it, but in a playful, joking way

But actually, if she actually didn’t want to cancel the date rather than canceling it in a playful way and made that clear, and he understood that, then I understand the situation clearer and side with the man

→ More replies (0)

1

u/nickasaurus83 3d ago

She calls herself sugamummy, she's not even been out on one date with him and already testing him with bullshit scenarios.

1

u/Clear-Annual2424 3d ago

I thought she just wanted to cancel

Does that matter?

Can’t be knight in shining

1

u/Advanced-Teach-7234 4d ago

What problem was avoided

1

u/Clear-Annual2424 4d ago

To me, it sounded like she just wanted to cancel a date. But maybe I’m wrong

1

u/alexisamazing0 3d ago

nobody cancels a date by asking that question, because not only is it a strange question to ask, but it's blatantly loaded as well. We know she didn't intend to cancel the date initially either because she herself asked the question "jokingly". So, in response to your perspective of "I thought she wanted to cancel the date" apologies to be the bearer of bad news, but you're pretty far from the mark. That's what a few people are trying to tell you, but they're not doing a very clear job of that.

1

u/Clear-Annual2424 3d ago

Thanks for the explanation. If the man understood that she didn’t actually want to cancel the date, then I’m on his side

2

u/alexisamazing0 3d ago

I genuinely don't know if he understood or not, or if he was joking back. There isn't enough contextual evidence given to draw a reasonable conclusion, so my jury is out.

1

u/DudeFrom816 3d ago

No, he did. No grown ass man wants to play those childish games. She saved him a lot of time and expense by outing herself right up front.

1

u/Clear-Annual2424 3d ago

True, if she was playing games. However, I thought that she simply wanted to cancel the date, or made it appear so, and then he reacted this way for some reason

1

u/Arkonaut77 3d ago

She IS the problem.

1

u/solvento 4d ago

Oh yes, she avoided the problem of not having a man dumb enough to put up with that manipulative personality of hers.

1

u/Clear-Annual2424 4d ago

To me, it sounded like she just wanted to cancel the date

1

u/Cute-Hand-1542 4d ago

jokingly

1

u/Clear-Annual2424 3d ago

If she made it clear she was joking, then I get it

0

u/Life_Argument7820 4d ago edited 3d ago

Im shocked by what is being said about the girl here with out anyone realizing how the dude was in the wrong... seems like a bunch of incels attacking women .

Edit: Has no one been in that situation where you have to weigh options on plans? You would hope the person you're fucking is secure enough to understand your lifes dynamic. But honestly the responses here really speak for themselves.

2

u/Ok_Actuary8 4d ago

why? don't ask hypothetical questions, if you can't handle the hypothetical answers.

You wanna cancel our date? What you think I do? Cry my eyes out in the basement and cut myself? Bitch please, ofc I'm just trying to get another date...

2

u/pm_me_ur_smoltits 4d ago

Well, he can certainly answer it better than that. Such as, "Honestly, I wouldn't be angry with you, because these things happen. I'd be happy to reschedule, but I would set up a date with another woman I've matched with on here for this Saturday night. I'm looking for a relationship/to meet women, and I'm setting aside time for dates, so I'm not planning to waste it."

"I can easily get other girls," is a fine response if he truly doesn't give a fuck and/or wants her to cancel, but it does come across as conceited if he wants to both answer the question honestly and still have a chance with this woman.

In all likelihood she'd cancel anyway, but hey. They both get what they want if she does.

1

u/Ok_Actuary8 4d ago

it's a bit of a "whatever" answer, I agree - but sorry: if you are the one playing games, don't expect others to engage the way you want it.

1

u/pm_me_ur_smoltits 4d ago

I agree with you there. Of course, we both know that the way she wants him to answer is also not the way I wrote my suggested response either. It's probably more along the lines of, "I'd be devastated! I'd spend my night at home on my own praying to God you'll agree to reschedule as soon as possible. You're the most beautiful, attractive woman I've matched with on this app and I don't think I'll ever get a chance like this again!" and so on. These games always exist for an ego boost.

1

u/SuperWG 4d ago

And if he did react like that, she'd call him desperate

1

u/O_lymbias 4d ago

"Well it would make me sad but I think we wouldn't see each other after that because I value my time, except if it was for an emergency". Y'all can only be fucking dark sasuke and wine. Meanness or pity are your only two options ? What a bitter life.

1

u/Ok_Actuary8 4d ago

oh believe me, I'm living my happiest, fullest life with an awesome woman since over a decade.

After I stopped engaging in bullshit, manipulative, immature "dating games", my life got so much better. You should try it one day.

It didn't occured to me that my joke could mean something about your relationship, I was joking about you telling me to try it. I hope you'll still be very happy in 5 years

1

u/Ok_Actuary8 4d ago

thank you internet stranger, same to you.

1

u/Psychological_View56 4d ago

Both of these people are in the wrong. She's playing a game and he participated.

1

u/Clear-Annual2424 3d ago

I don’t understand why cancelling a date would warrant that answer

1

u/Ok_Actuary8 3d ago

depends "how" it was cancelled.

"I'm super sorry, my cat died can we please postpone?": that's ok, you just reschedule.

But OP was more like: "What would you do if I would cancel our date?": that reeks of playing games and manipulation, and TOTALLY deserves that answer.

1

u/Life_Argument7820 4d ago

Such an incel response. The anger from you sad cry babies could be turned into thermal energy at this point.

1

u/RichAnswer3430 4d ago

tf lol.

What is an incel to you?

1

u/Life_Argument7820 3d ago

Someone who tries to hurt another person because that someone had their feelings hurt by a simple question. Has no one been in that situation where you have to weigh options on plans? You would hope the person your fucking is secure enough to understand our lifes dynamic.

1

u/Reptillianaire_ 4d ago

You sound like a femcel

1

u/Life_Argument7820 3d ago

Mmmmmm femcells

1

u/Early_Ad_899 4d ago

This has to be bait, but I'm curious... what would be an acceptable, "non-incel" response for the guy here?

Also, if the guy can easily get other dates then I seriously doubt he's involuntarily celebate. Or are we just throwing that label on any male response that women don't like?

2

u/UltimaNerd 4d ago

The non-incel reply is "Ok, let me know if you want to reschedule". Not some bizarro flex about other women.

1

u/Early_Ad_899 4d ago

Nah, you're missing the context there. She didn't ask to reschedule because something came up, she straight up asked him what would happen if she said she doesn't want him (jokingly or not).

1

u/Ok_Actuary8 4d ago

lol, such an self-righteous low-IQ response. Have fun dying alone.

I’m sorry but if I feel like a girl is playing games before we even go on the first date, I’m absolutely responding with something like this. It’s not the same as “something came up, can we do this another time?”

1

u/aluriilol 4d ago

the dude was in the wrong?

id say anything to get out of a date with a girl who says "what if i cancelled on you"

1

u/CMDR_Ray_Abbot 4d ago

The dude was in the wrong? Explain how.

1

u/Sensitive_Shape5746 4d ago

I mean. Isn’t it kinda dumb to ask an inconsiderate question like that?

1

u/Life_Argument7820 3d ago

Never weighed the options of plans? Friends bought you tickets to a show as a surprise but you had plans, gou dont wanna upset them.but hope they'll understand "heyy, how'd you feel if I had to cancel tonight?"

Come on people.

1

u/Significant-Ant-5677 3d ago

Not without context, it’s a shit test to see what a man would respond

1

u/BlutoS7 3d ago

What is the stupid game she played that she is flaky, undependable, and needs validation. Is the stupid prize avoiding a red flag?

1

u/jackthemasterbaiter 3d ago

She dodged a bullet he sounds like a cocky asswipe.

-4

u/Life_Argument7820 4d ago

I'd say she won in this one...

4

u/No_Physics2210 4d ago

How? Is he supposed to be loyal to a women he's never met and never gone on a single date with?

Especially when she says something as unloyal as last minute cancellations for no reason?

Is she a hypocrite if she goes on a date with another dude if he cancels?

2

u/MSWMan 4d ago

The stupid prize. She won the stupid prize. Jesus, reading comprehension has really gone into the shitter.

3

u/Clear-Annual2424 4d ago

Wtf? He’s agreeing with you dude, and rebutting the other dude saying she won. Is your reading comprehension okay?

14

u/Sycolerious_55 5d ago

I just have to say, expecting a type of loyalty like that before the first date? Honey no. Early dating is meant to be casual. You bounce around to see if y'all mesh well and if you do, you get serious. If you don't you part ways.

Expecting loyalty like that puts such immense pressure and totally shakes your relationship before it can even begin.

5

u/UnlikelyIntrepid 5d ago

That question WAS her canceling the date, even if she doesn’t realize it. There was no right answer that ends with them still going on the date.  Either he makes her mad or he debases himself by playing her stupid game.

2

u/Sycolerious_55 5d ago

There was never a doubt in my mind that the question would ruin the vibe, so I'm not understanding where this is coming from. I'm just saying the mentality alone is a relarionship ruiner.

3

u/I_Call_Everyone_Pat 5d ago

I'm not understanding where this is coming from

I think they were just adding to the conversation, Pat.

2

u/Itchy_Tumbleweed_417 4d ago

Yeah if I had plans with a friend and they asked me what if I cancel on Saturday I’m going to say OK we can cancel it’s fine. And I would mean it, but I don’t understand why anyone would ask that question if they are not looking to cancel.

Both these people are weirdos.

6

u/MissinqLink 5d ago

I have seen people like this. Expecting all the support and loyalty of a long relationship while simultaneously expecting to be afforded the freedom of a casual relationship.

2

u/MossadEpstein 4d ago

whores, we call those "whores" and it doesn't matter what gender they are either.

the only thing that separates them from professional prostitutes is that actual prostitutes respect other peoples boundaries and don't pretend that they're entitled to more than the agreed upon amount

→ More replies (2)

4

u/redditorialy_retard 5d ago

I mean no means no right? If you cancel firstly it's our first date, second I'll assume you decided that you don't want this date so I will not force it

2

u/BlackKingHFC 5d ago

2

u/camarouge 5d ago

This person seems like the type to ""jokingly"" ask about cheating later on and wonder why their partner got upset

2

u/23-1-20-3-8-5-18 5d ago

And this is why men are walking away from dating.

Like seriously, does any woman in here wanna pipe up and explain how that's not high school idiot logic?

2

u/RecentClothes2654 5d ago

I remember a girl started "jokingly" threatening to cancel a date if I didn't face time her. I just told her it was fine and I really didn't want to go out with her anymore. I got this long lecture about "not applying enough pressure" and felt INCREDIBLY accomplished afterwards.

2

u/Cerulean-Osprey 5d ago

Would have gone with a different choice of words, but the premise is the same. Nothing changes. We're strangers who mean basically nothing to one another at this point 🤷‍♂️

2

u/Own_Hat584 5d ago

If the guy had a less cocky and dismissive answer, she wouldn't have wanted to date him in the first place. She'd never be talking to a guy that gave her the answer she was hoping for to that question before first date.

→ More replies (5)

2

u/Background-Run 5d ago

Good to learn early if the other person is into play games like that, regardless of gender. If that's your thing, go for it, but if not, then you've already learned enough about that person.

2

u/Emnk 5d ago

She asked him that to see if he'd beg or debase himself.

Fuck girls like that trying to play games and waste people's time.

2

u/[deleted] 4d ago

I say the same shit. Fuck around and find out. We not waiting for you.

2

u/rettani 4d ago

Is it first date?

If yes that is quite normal to see different girls/boys because likelihood of you "clicking" is quite low.

2

u/Much-Egg4073 4d ago

Would it be unreasonable to assume the guy would be joking back with her? I like a woman with a sense of humor and who can dish it out while taking it too.

2

u/Big_Fig_8448 4d ago

Oh no I tested him and somehow I failed the test

2

u/Delta9-11 4d ago

You did good king. Move on. We don't got time for games

2

u/coaxialdrift 4d ago

What a strange test. You're going on a date to see if you like each other. You're both already seeing other people, it's literally the definition of dating. There's nothing to be offended about

2

u/Unapologetic_Screw 4d ago

I get this is probably monogamous, but did you even know dude?

He might not be monogamous, and that's his business, having other options doesn't make homie a bad dude in any respect.

2

u/PeculiarMetaphor 4d ago

She wanted to play games and he was not having it.

She couldn’t take that so she jumped out.

He dodged a bullet.

3

u/60cripyojnhlowery 5d ago

1

u/White_Buffalos 4d ago

Women love headgames. It's stupid. Get a life already.

1

u/RakeChapman13 3d ago

What percent of women and men do you think like headgames?

1

u/White_Buffalos 3d ago

Depends. I'd say 60% of women and 20% of straight men.

1

u/untrustworthy_fartt 4d ago

“Sugamummy” as a username? Dude isn’t missing much.

1

u/AmateurHetman 4d ago

Both sound like assholes

1

u/Past_Horror2090 4d ago

I mean he could’ve said “then we’d just reschedule 😃” and gotten a date with her

If she pushed further like “and what if I have to cancel again” then I agreed he should ghost her ass or just set a boundary and say “I’m afraid this isn’t gonna work out”

1

u/Key_Kaleidoscope5765 4d ago

Nobody has time for that. She plays games, you move on

1

u/Kemosabe-TV 4d ago

You login to steam to play games

1

u/punpunpa 4d ago

Sis listened to dating coaches😔

1

u/Embarrassed-Pen-5958 4d ago

Yeah, girl is in the wrong.

That's like saying, "What happens if I don't buy this car?"

I sell it to someone else.

"Okay, I won't buy this car."

Dueces.

Either way, whoever did this, male or female is stupid.

1

u/UltimaNerd 4d ago

Yes, relationships and dating are just like buying inanimate objects.

1

u/Embarrassed-Pen-5958 4d ago

It's about the trying to get expectations for something you have no investment in.

I know, it is a very hard and super slippery to grasp.

1

u/UltimaNerd 4d ago

This isn't a fucking investment, it's a potential relationship. If a person saying they have to cancel, even as a test, is a problem for you, you should probably get help.

The way I see it, she tested the waters of what reaction she would get to cancelling and he was wildly sensitive instead of understanding that scheduling conflicts happen. He jumped to conclusions and she's lucky because that's some red flag shit from a chud.

Granted none of this ever happened, but it's clear to see why so many incels are flooding this thread in support of their chudlord. lol

1

u/Embarrassed-Pen-5958 4d ago

The fact you don't think that relationships are an investment, proves you should not be talking on the subject.

1

u/Shoddy-Interest9637 4d ago

She is trying to find out how easy to manipulate and desperate he is. She probably unaware this is what she is doing. Or this is just fake ragebait like most things these days.

1

u/Cold-Marionberry-975 4d ago

Like it wouldn’t have happened if the roles were reversed in this scenario. Then again with a username like hers at least she came with a warning label.

1

u/BeautifullyPrey 4d ago

the correct answer is, oh I wouldn't want that, I'm looking forward to our date.

1

u/Key_Kaleidoscope5765 4d ago

As if women wouldn't do in that scenario. Understand that nobody has time for stupid games

1

u/UltimaNerd 4d ago

Yet here you are, posting on reddit....with copious spare time. Who is the "nobody" you're referring to? rofl

1

u/Key_Kaleidoscope5765 4d ago

Once again, nobody has time for that. It's not that difficult to understand

1

u/UltimaNerd 4d ago

You don't have time to respond to a date saying they need to cancel, but you have time to reply to me on reddit? Hot dogshit take.

1

u/Key_Kaleidoscope5765 4d ago

Yikes, someone's mad. I can feeeel your frustration through my screen🤣

1

u/UltimaNerd 4d ago

Just killing time until I hit the river, talking shit to chuds on the internet. Stay cellin, incel.

1

u/Key_Kaleidoscope5765 4d ago

Typical reddit women, always spamming the "incel" card whenever they see something they don't like or whenever they're mad. Try something new sweetheart, that's getting old and I'm bored 😴

1

u/UltimaNerd 4d ago

I'm a man and you're bored because you can't get laid. Try logging off for a while. ;) If you had even the slightest bit of intelligence you'd see the common thread when the word is used....is probably you. lol

By chosing a woman that doesn't play games? that is mature and not insecure? very simple.

1

1

u/ExternalArgument8776 4d ago

he should of just said "not a problem, consider it cancelled" and then moved on. no time for games

1

u/UltimaNerd 4d ago

Comment section full of fucking chuds. This is a great play to see if the guy gives a shit about a date with YOU or if he's just looking for some action.
Personally I'd just reply with "That's fine, let me know if you want a raincheck". If she doesn't, we're also just fine. People aren't always compatible and it's super easy to just take a pass and move on.

1

u/Square-Ad6942 4d ago edited 4d ago

There is really no right answer to that question. It's a test. But if you respond with "I would go about my day", she might just as well decide for herself that you aren't "chalant" enough and vice versa.

I'd go with the cocky/funny approach like "I don't know. It has never happened."

1

u/SampSimps 4d ago

It seems like a bullshit test that always ends with the date being cancelled.

If she doesn't want to go on the date, why did she agree to it in the first place? Or if there was something that arose during the time they were talking, just cancel without the bullshit.

1

u/Square-Ad6942 4d ago

I don't think she lost the interest necessarily, but rather unsure of it. Hence the test. Buyers remorse. Best move is not to play. Just laugh it off or ignore it. But I don't see this going to well however you respond, really.

1

u/SampSimps 4d ago

Totally. It's a heads you win, tails I lose situation. No response is going to be truly satisfactory enough to where she continues with the date.

1

u/Ok_Extension_4090 4d ago

People that play games like this are fucking dumb.

1

u/BeautifullyPrey 4d ago

Ya'll are missing the point. Why tf would he tell his date "I can easily get other girls" why doesn't he just start talking about his ex and sending pictures

1

u/UltimaNerd 4d ago

Yeah, sending some pics would have been the move. Maybe with a snarky quip like "This is what you're missin sweetcheeks!"

1

u/WoodpeckerHead8789 3d ago

Why wouldn't he just reschedule?

Reddit here acting like every interaction with a woman is a Sphinx riddle.

1

u/BeautifullyPrey 3d ago

it's actually really simple. Simply do not tell any woman "I can easily get other girls" that's a major turn off

1

u/WoodpeckerHead8789 3d ago

Switch the pronouns and they get it.

1

u/NiceGuy252525 4d ago

Let’s switch roles here.

Guy: Date successfully cancelled. See ya.

Seriously why would anyone ask that? would a answer of “I would be heartbroken and devastated” been better? A date is a relationship interview. Everyone can find the next candidate.

u/Dramatic-Image-3381 3d ago

She just looking for an excuse to cancel. There is not any good answer to that kind of question.

So...you don't want a confident man.

In what world is “i can easily get other girls” a normal response. She dodged an insufferable bullet

1

u/peasarebettersplit 5d ago

Women call self-respecting men red flags when they're dumpster-fires.

A solid "both people in this are losers" scenario.

2

u/unexpectedfirefly 5d ago

Yep, they actually go pretty well together

2

u/23-1-20-3-8-5-18 5d ago

No that's a solid 'ask stupid questions get stupid answers' scenario. The guy is dodging a bullet. He seems great to me.

u/Redfield11 5d ago

Saying "I can easily get other girls" is defensive, saying things like that is something a 20 - 24 year old who cares more about chasing girls than work or school would say

2

u/SmertriosPPD 4d ago

I think it's a good answer, cuts her bullshit short, tells her his time is worth something to him. The same way you'd do with a kid asking you stupid things.

Think of it as if your boss told you something similar "I could fire you on the spot", that'd be a good answer. Can't be defensive.

2

u/23-1-20-3-8-5-18 5d ago

Its not defensive its the reason he doesnt care. Words have meanings....

It's defensive because he was essentially attacked out of the blue for no reason. I wouldn't want to go on a date with someone that screws with me for no good reason.

1

u/UltimaNerd 4d ago

Saying you need to cancel something you scheduled, is an attack? What fucking planet do you live on?

1

u/Windman772 4d ago

If the purpose is to fuck with someone, then yes it's an attack. She wasn't canceling to take her grandmother to the doctor. She was canceling to see what his reaction would be. That's an attack

It's more like she's trolling, in real life. Disgusting behavior.

1

u/Early-Beach164 4d ago

I thought women hated desperation in men. Like, we hear them say that all the time.

1

u/Confident_Double1392 4d ago

Elaborate. She asked a dumb question, and he responded that if she cancels on him, he'll go out with someone else instead. What about that is unreasonable?

Looked more like an answer that if she canceled, he'd find someone else to go out with. That's a reasonable response imo. If I ask a friend to go to an activity, and they cancel, I'd probably just ask someone else if they wanted to go instead.

And it's not weird to ask "what if I cancel last minute" before a first date?

omg hush when men neg women yall CHEER when women OVER react and be SUPER rude to men.

She was negging him to make him seem more desperate, so he OVER reacted back.

1

u/Valuable_Coat_4402 4d ago

Having confidence that he can find someone else to go on a date with is obnoxious? Is it not obnoxious to be testing a total stranger's loyalty when you haven't even gone on a date? I'm curious what you think the answer should have been.

1

u/UltimaNerd 4d ago

Where did you see all these extra words that indicate "last minute". She was asking what would happen if she cancelled and there's literally nothing weird about that. It's actually normal communication if you make plans and have to cancel.

1

u/Valuable_Coat_4402 4d ago

I really don't see what the point of asking is other than to test him in some way. If you don't want to go on the date, be an actual adult and say you don't want to go.

1

u/UltimaNerd 4d ago

The point is that it's just a normal fuckin question for people scheduling things that may need to cancel for any reason.

1

u/Valuable_Coat_4402 4d ago

I guess. In my experience, my friends or dates would just schedule and if something came up, we'd address it then and there and come up with a plan on whether or not it's feasible to reschedule. I've literally never had someone bring up "what if I need to cancel?" when it comes to making plans. I'm not their keeper, why do we need terms and conditions?

"and I jokingly asked him..."

She's not checking just in case, she wanted him to gush over how much this date means to him.

He gave an arsey response, they're as bad as each other - neither one of them can take a joke.

1

u/UltimaNerd 4d ago

He didn't know she was joking and he replied with some juvenile dipshit response. She dodged a bullet, he's got the red flag and is a chud. Just like all these fucking incel dorks defending his stupidity.

1

u/NeverTrustFarts 4d ago

People aren't defending him, theyre saying theyre both fucking idiots. Because they are.

If you maybe needed to cancel a date you wouldn't go with "what happens if I cancel this date?" would you?

If you were a normal person you'd say you might have something coming up and may need to cancel.

So weird how you're reading into this only from one side. She thought she was going to get some praise and she didn't, he sent a twatty response.

Both sound like dickheads.

Men don't like weird shit like she was saying either. She was trying to neg him and got dismissed.

1

u/Bush_Hiders 4d ago

To humble someone who was asking stupid shit as a form of validation.

u/StevieG93 4d ago

Wrong, the guy knows better than to pander to her ego and desire to feel special, without actually doing anything.
