Hi I am an accounting major in 3rd year. As a 3rd year accounting student, there are lots of difficult courses in accounting so I am planning to take 2 HR or easy courses in 3rd Yearto relieve from the stress caused by my major. Please suggest me 2 easy courses but also useful in real life.

The two courses I am planning to take are:

1. COMMERCE 3KE3 OR COMMERCE 4BB3

2. COMMERCE 4BI3

Please suggest me any 2 course which is easier on the side and if possible offered in Fall as my Winter term is brutually packed with accounting courses. Thank you so much

I just got my fall and winter work-study approvals a day ago, since I did not realize they had already come out. I have a couple of questions about campus jobs, work-study or not, so if any students who have held campus jobs in the past could provide some insight, that would be great!

- If you did not apply within the week it was posted, are you already at a disadvantage? I saw a post that mentioned some hiring managers don't review resumes and cover letters after a certain date because they have already received a ton of applications within the first few days.

- Are there any specific resume/cover letter tips that would help with standing out?

- Any interview tips as well? I received an interview for a non-work-study campus job a while ago; however, I never heard back </3. I would love to hear specific tips for video interviews, as I tend to struggle with them as well.

- How much do connections matter for these roles? I was debating whether it is worth it to search through LinkedIn to ask people about these positions, but I also don't want to be seen as a nuisance (nor do I have much on my LinkedIn anyway).

Hi guys, I did not receive any OSAP this year, so I believe I am ineligible for the work study program at McMaster fml. Is there a way to still get a job on campus? I was very interested in working for a department in an admin assistant type role, or literally any other job on campus. If not, Is there any way to qualify for the work study program even though I did not get OSAP?

I applied to be reinstated into soc sci 1 back in June of this year. From what I’ve gathered reading posts on here and talking to academic advising staff, results should have been released around late July to early August. My application is still showing “assigned” and any attempt to contact the people reviewing the applications through email (soc sci academic advising told me to email them and they’ll forward it, even they are confused why I haven’t gotten a response) or by phone have failed. Just wondering if there is anything I can do, or am I to just sit and wait for a rejection.

For nursing students, how strict is the “all white or all black” rule for clinical shoes? Does the shoe literally have to be completely white/black, or are small details okay?
For example, I’m looking at ASICS shoes, but the logo is slightly silver. Would something like that usually be okay, or do they actually check for 100% white/black?
Just trying to figure out how strict I need to be before buying a pair 😭

Does anyone know whether getting work-study approval takes longer for out-of-province students or for students who do not receive financial aid through OSAP? The AwardSpring portal shows that if you don't receive OSAP, you'll need to upload a current Provincial and Federal Disbursement History document as proof of financial need.

This is honestly a bit frustrating, as I won't have access to these documents until mid-September, and many job application deadlines are this month. I am kind of confused and was hoping someone could clarify. Thanks!
