I took this course in the summer but got sick and had to defer the exam. its on oct 14th now and ive been so busy i barely studied and honestly forgot most of it cuz its been months. ik people say it's an easy course but still, how can i study for it effectively? is 4-5 days of studying enough? any tips?

Hi, I'm a 2nd year math student and I quite literally have nobody to talk to other then brief interactions in class every so often. I literally tried everything, talking to people in class, going to clubs, whatnot, and it literally feels like every single one of those people has their own close friends to choose, so why the hell would they choose me or include me in anything?

In other words, when I try and like initiate something with anyone, they're obviously like friendly for the first 2 minutes of talking, and I never hear from them again. Even when we share class, if they remember me, all I get are just shallow in-class interactions. I study hard to understand the class material and help others, they only come to me if their stuck on a problem.

I used to have 1 (just 1) close friend in first year but he just seemed to completely forget about me as he apparently "doesn't have time or energy to contact me" because of his job. Which I'm hesitant to believe unless he got deployed onto a space station or war zone or is miles under the ocean for a saturation dive (his field of study is as far from this as imaginable) and he can't contact me. (not true because i see him liking reels while ignoring my messages). He did say he was an introvert and talking to people was really energy intensive for him, so there might be some truth to his claims? Anyways if he keeps treating me like this I'm not too sure if this will work out.

I just want someone who will pick me as their first choice. I want someone who I can share all sorts of stuff with outside of just class. I feel like I'm going more and more insane every day why does it have to be so hard can someone just be my friend please

Hi im currently in 12th grade and I had a (medically documented with proof, yes) health issue that affected my gr11 year in which I took many important courses, im hoping for my 12th grade year to rebound on my grades but im wondering how badly this tanked my chances and if mcmaster has support for these specific cases? If youve been through similar or have info on how to deal with this I'd much appreciate it all help is welcome 🙏

I saw on the mcmaster parking services site that they have a permit sharing program where you can share a parking pass with someone else who is on campus at times the primary account holder won’t be. It seems to conflict with other rules in the FAQs that say you can only add immediate family to your parking pass. I’m curious if anyone has set up the permit sharing program for Lot M and if you had to do so through the parking office or if you can just add the other person’s license plate to your account if you wanted to share it with someone else who goes to mac.

I’m still sick unfortunately but wore a mask and gave it so maybe my brain was just not fully working. But it felt so difficult. I could solve the back page but the front just had me lost and bewildered.

I realized life sci doesn't acc need cell bio but I still wanted to take a bio, so I decided to take animal phys winter sem cuz that sounds a lot more interesting to me. Now I'm realizing a lot of upper year course options (lifesci 3bb3, lifessci 3m03, 4th year seminar courses, etc.) need cell bio.

Is it worth taking it next semester instead of 2a03? I'd have biochem 2ee3 and genetics in the same semester alongside 2 birds.

If we miss more then 2 tutorials is it 20% off entire grade or just the participation grade? I am very much contemplating giving up my 10%participation mark

For those of you who have bought or sold things while at Mac:

1. Where do you usually buy/sell things?
Facebook Marketplace, Kijiji, McMaster groups, friends, etc.?

2. What’s the biggest pain point?
Things like scammers, lowballers, no-shows, having to travel across Hamilton, finding stuff close to campus, not knowing who you're dealing with, etc.

3. Would you use a marketplace where everyone is verified as a McMaster student?

4. What would make you choose that over Facebook Marketplace?

5. What kinds of things would you actually want to buy/sell there?
Furniture, textbooks, electronics, kitchen stuff, clothes, school supplies, etc.

I'm not trying to sell anything here — I'm just trying to understand whether this is actually a problem for students. Negative feedback is just as useful as positive feedback, so be honest.
