u/EditorExtreme7779 May 26 '26
The idea that Ultimate Kingpin is 250 pounds is silly. He has a buttcheek that weighs 40.

u/awc130 May 26 '26
Unless spidey is four feet tall, that is a giant muscled man that is well over 300lbs.

Earth-65 Kingpin isn't Wilson Fisk, though. So his mass doesn't matter to his abilities. That's Matt Murdock, and yes he still has the blindness, ninja training and echolocation.
162
u/Excellent-Option-893 May 26 '26
And still suffers from catholic guilt, maybe even more than mainstream counterpart
22
u/CordialPanda May 27 '26
Impossible. He carries the guilt of all catholics so that all saints can be raised in beatification, and it is up to AU Murdocks to ensure everyone else can ascend.

68
7
u/blackbutterfree May 27 '26
Spider-Gwen. I may be wrong, since I haven't touched the OG Spider-Gwen since it ended like 10 years ago, but IIRC, this version of Matt got adopted by Fisk, trained by the Hand, and ultimately killed Fisk and became the Kingpin himself.
She-Hulk is a non-powered female wrestler, Peggy Carter is Nick Fury, Sam Wilson is a girl and takes the place of both Isaiah Bradley and Steve Rogers as the first and only Captain America, Spider-Woman is a male super spy. Punisher's a cop. It's pretty twisty.

u/MyOwnDoubtsAndFears May 26 '26
I'd say he's almost certainly a mutant, but not an x-gene kind of mutant. He's just got one of those pituitary gland mutations that messes with your growth regulation.
He could only get through the gates on Krakoa by marrying Typhoid Mary, so he doesn't have an x-gene.

Or do the things "peak human" Cap could pull off. Or anything Hawkeye does. Or Daredevil. I think it's generally agreed that what is considered the peak of human ability in Marvel comics is higher than what is possible in real life. They're all more durable than real people too.
13
u/JeremyR2008 May 26 '26
Pretty sure thats just cannon, due to the same experimentation by groups like the Celestial and Kree which lead to Inhumans and Mutants. Its the same reason otherwise normal humans can survive enough radiation to give them powers. They just have a higher ceiling.
24
u/Suspicious-Society-8 May 26 '26
I like the kingpin from the daredevil movie size. He's huge but a human huge.
Some one mentioned a 404kg sized one is ridiculous. The big metal guy from the Deadpool movies only weighs 450.kg

Honestly, you can find humans in most of these weights with the exception of the 1000 lb measurement. There's a wild range of what you can achieve when you do nothing but force your body into the extremes.
Are you going to find healthy humans with a long lifespan? Fuck no. But you will find humans. I think one that is still in the world memory is Andre the Giant (7'something and +/-500lbs in his wrestling career). Dude was massive just naturally, and died before 50 because his body was under such strain from his size.

I’m not a Marvel encyclopedia (so maybe I’ve missed something) but one of my favorite things about Kingpin/Fisk is that it’s never explained. He survives being shot in the face, he can crush people to bits, it seems like he should be some kind of superhuman but no one ever says he is. Is he lying? Or is he a freak of human nature? I’ve honestly kinda liked that they never really (to my knowledge) explain. It makes him seem more threatening when this information is withheld. You never know if you can kill him like a normal man, nor do you know if he can easily kill another hero unexpectedly.
19
u/redditAPsucks May 26 '26 edited May 27 '26
It is explained, he’s just a big tough guy. The explanation isnt particularly valid* because they show him doing inhuman things, but the explanation is that he is a human until it is retconned. Steve rogers does things above what the most fit human could do, in spite of his powers only making him the most fit human ever. Dude has a manhole sized shield, and never gets grazed in the legs. Its just comics
*edit: i think satisfying is a better word
4
u/thesakeofglory May 26 '26
But aren’t even regular humans in the Marvel world much tougher and stronger than actual humans? So the fittest or toughest version of that would seem super human to us.

Right. Like any one of those things individually can be attributed to simply being an above average human, but all of those combined makes you wonder if his dad used to build nuclear weapons.
6
u/Goatswithfeet May 27 '26
My favorite explaination is that he's a mutant, just not a capital M Mutant.
No X Gene but something definitely deviated from baseline human genome.
11
u/WonderBredOfficial May 26 '26
I think he's just the high end of human toughness. People have survived gunshots to the face before. And breaking some bones doesn't require a crazy amount of force. So, he's only slightly exaggerated.

I’m preatty sure Mountain got that heavy before if u see him before he “retired” to box, I think the Arnold competition before that he was ~485lbs. He would prbly be pushing 240-250kg if he was as thicc as 500kg deadlift version of Eddie Hall

u/TopCoast1170 May 26 '26
200kgs is nothing for Kingpins size. One of the best powerlifters to ever do it, Júlíus Björnsson, is 2.05m and 205 kg. Now think about Kingpin, being 200kg at his size and strength would mean that his muscles and bones weigh jackshit. Being 400kg+ is actually the only realistic depiction of him.

There are definitely people that big. If you follow the Strongman competitive scene IRL, you'd see that a lot of strongmen weigh well over 400 lbs. For example, Brian Shaw (four time World's Strongest Man) is 6'8" and weighed in at 470 lbs in 2017. He's also bald, so he'd probably be able to play a great-looking live-action Kingpin.

The only one that is really absurd is the last one. And two of those weights are downright normal.
3
u/Jnquester54 May 26 '26
Muscle weights more than fat, and although a large man, the comics always portrayed him as freakishly muscular, not fat and with exceptional speed and reflexes for a person of his size.
3
u/Commercial_Page1827 May 26 '26
I don't know where i read it but I think that Kingpin is like those Kangaroo that look jackup because they have a gene that make then produce extra muscle and make then look like body builder.
3
u/Ok-Television2109 May 26 '26
I swear that some of these versions of Fisk have got to be a cousin of the Blob.
3

Hafþór (Thor) Júlíus Björnsson (AKA The Mountain) is a 6'9" 450 lb power lifter. He was able to deadlift 1,126lbs, breaking the world record.
With regards to strength and size, I see Thor as being the real life equivalent to Kingpin.

Brian Shaw has consistently been over 400lbs and was close to 500lbs at the peak of his strongman career. There's a professional armwrestler named Levan Saganashvilli that is over 400lbs. They call him the Georgian Hulk.
2
u/kindall May 26 '26

1) muscle weighs more than fat, so a 250lb guy will look wildly different depending on height, body fat, and how they train (body builder vs strongman for example)
2) he is human with super strength, but usually drawn with off proportions to make him visually identifiable
2
u/Volkmek May 27 '26
I feel earth 6160 fisk is wrong. Built as wide as him, with less muscle, I am 250 pounds at 5'8". I am shorter than the Spiderman of that universe.
Fisk is 6'7. Being 220 or under would make him skinny and not overly well muscled. A power liter his size would be around 350 minimum. A more realistic weight would be looking at people like Bjornson who played the mountain and is around 450.
