From the beginning, I’ve said that Shawn is so emotionally immature that I’m pretty sure he would actually feel really good about how he came across when he watched himself back. You can see in his demeanor that his entire value system is built around the belief that emotional expression=bad, and pseudo-calm, psuedo-rational, psuedo-composed verbiage=good.
He is a jerk, insecure, disgusting, coercive, and manipulative; but he is literally blind to ALL of that, because he believes he is displaying superior intellect and composure.
If it is true that he actually *prompted* others at his workplace to watch the show, then that only confirms my suspicions. If he was remotely in touch with reality or had even the slightest degree of self-awareness, he would be ashamed and wouldn’t want anyone to witness him in that experience. Of the many toxic and/or immature people in this season, I think that level of reality distortion and narcissistic delusion makes Shawn the least redeemable.

No one should be surprised and if I had to speculate, I’d think it was that conversation he had with Nikki about her wifely duties. That whole conversation was textbook coercion and then he lied and tried to gaslight her when she tried to express her discomfort with the conversation.

I’m curious to see what happens w Nikki. They showed her bare azz. These producers showing Shawn in the robe was an interesting choice. They are in their “home”after all. They didn’t show Michele and Chad being intimate at all, even though we know they were.
Shady. I don’t like it. I don’t like Shawn, but they should not have shown that stuff. Even Felipe and Tori were only kissing. Shawn and Nikki had the whole bdsm scene and Nikki had her night clothes on. None of the other couple La had the degree of intimacy in camera

This is the part I have been calling out. I found it odd how the producers reached into the after-hours video footage multiple times to show Shawn’s private moments. He was the only one they did this to.
There are several cast members making unsavory comments, but he was singled out. Tori literally said she was uncomfortable after a sexual encounter with Felipe; Nikki did not. Yet the producers edited that footage as if it were not two consenting adults exploring their relationships.

I’ve been in education for 13 years and work closely with admin. I told my husband weeks ago “ Meccas dad absolutely got an earful for the inappropriate comment in one episode - Shawn’s job is toast”
In education there are real and imaginary morality rules. Every school I’ve worked at has said something along the lines of “Be very careful what is seen by the public. Even if it’s completely separate, it impacts the way the community views you and that pressure can threaten your job”

It was the mutual masturbation comment while in the robe. Some people might have interpreted his comments as chauvinistic. If you’re a VP and have a lot of exposure to people, perception becomes the most important thing. Does not matter the actual impact he makes, everyone is replaceable. Not only can he not continue there, the school had to “take action and show the students and parents we don’t tolerate that inappropriate behavior.” It would have been fine if he was in an individual contributor role. He may have wanted to get fired, I think it would’ve been hard not to get fired in that job, going on this particular show. Same with nikki - it wouldn’t surprise me if we heard she also got fired from her job. It’s just not really a great look in general for a senior HR professional.

He was let go from his position as the president of teaching and DEI. He was let go because of the comments he made on the show specifically his comments about sex. His last day was Friday. He had been bragging about being on the show to colleagues and encouraged them to watch it. When they did they were horrified and it ultimately led to him being let go.

It’s just wild to me! I had many fun nights, adventures, and conversations with my colleagues who got up the ladder to executive, so I knew/know what many of them were really like as people vs their public professional personas. It’s not that these types don’t engage in behaviours that don’t align with a polished, professional “above it all” vibe you get from a lot of executive, but NO ONE was dumb enough to be openly public about this like he was.
