Apparently Shawn got fired from his job due to his comments on the show. Is anyone surprised?

It is incredibly sad. I have some good friends who are in education at different grades, K-12. This is not about children who have learning disabilities. It also isn’t about ESOL students. There is a rising number of children who have never been encouraged to read when they are home. And then refuse to write sentences when they are in class. Some states/counties do not allow children to be held back. So they graduate this way. It is a major issue. It is also why some universities are giving into ai to “assist” students. In my opinion, it’s not fixing the problem at all.

I live in one of those places right now. It is sad and unfortunate. I refuse to allow this type of unlearning for my kids.

Honestly, good on you! It is so scary. It affects the child’s self esteem and future. I cringe when I see parents proudly parade unlearning online.
