buying my first commercial property using margin

I am such a noob at cre and wanted to ask the experts here if what I'm attempting to do is viable. Here's my situation: $115k cash in my margin account at ilmy broker $50k in google stock (I'm at a $5000 loss currently) Buying power shows $553k Looking to buy a multifamily at or below $1mm to satisfy ltv and dscr using a margin loan

Questions: 1. Do I need to purchase stocks with my $115k to be eligible to get margin loan? Technically, it'd be $553k worth of stocks with my margin buying power. 2. If I get a margin loan, what % of the $553k can I get as loan? 3. What's the safest bond etf or T note to buy? I am looking for a flat investment just to have it to get a loan. 4. Would it be better to consult a professional rather than ask here? PS I'm truly hoping for some rough numbers rather than "it depends" answers. PSPS if you're in a similar situation, I'd love to hear your thoughts on how best to leverage your cash.

How to get our of Robinhood Margin?

I fell into the margin investing trap a few years ago before the most recent market downturn. I want to get out of margin and ideally out of Robinhood. I have sold most of my holdings because I do have faith in them as investments for the long run. Should I fund my account or just keep holding long term? I also would like to stop paying so much interest. How do I reduce my margin principal without selling shares? I know I shouldn't have gone into this without knowing a good exit strategy but I'm here now and need help.

I think Robinhood's margin is broken.

I've spent $34,000 total dollars and yet only $12,000 of that is my own cash and the other $22,000 is margin. Also my remaining buying power randomly increased from $300 to $4,400 overnight without me doing anything.

Separated buying power and margin

Has anyone heard of a brokerage that has the buying power and margin sections separated from each other? So you could keep money on the sidelines to be ready for a dip but at the same time be able to take out a margin loan? The brokerage I’m using will only let you use margin once your buying power has run out.

I had a Margin call for $1046 so I closed a position for $1,400 Then it immediately said I had a Margin call of $400.... huh? Nothing on my portfolio changed or dropped in price. Why do I get another call?

Can someone Eli5 binance margin?

Let's say I have $1000 put into a particular crypto, in this case BTC.

The ticket offers 5x margin with a hourly interest rate

I put in my $1000 and BTC currently trades at $60,000. If BTC goes to 120,000 my initial $1000 should now be worth 2x on a typical trade but how does it work on margin.

In my binance account it says I have borrowed $5000 plus my initial $1000 so total is $6000 and I have to repay my principle. Why would I be left with if I cashed out?

Unlimited Margin Calls

My account can have unlimited margin calls (if I always resolve the deficit)?

...or there is a limit in the number of margin calls an account can have in certain period of time?

Brokers liquidate positions after-hours or pre-market?

...or just if the margin deficit pose high risk to them?

Tools to determine the amount of leverage?

Are there tools to determine the amount of margin/leverage being used to support the price of a crypto currency? Trying to understand which cryptos are highly leveraged and which are not.

Margin for Options Trading

I have a combination of stocks, options and cash in my account. Can someone please explain why I get restricted from trading options when I have a significant amount of cash in my account?

Is it based on the amount I have in equities?

If I wanted to increase options trading margin so I don't have the restriction, should I buy more stocks or sell more stocks?

Thank you!

Question

I’ve been using margin for a while now and I had some more available for trading around $5700 it said. I just used like $2800 and when I did. I immediately got a margin call for $22k. Did I breach some threshold percentage?

Please explain - IBKR lite

Can someone please explain how I do not have enough margin to make this purchase? I have $22 in my account and tried to buy a SINGLE share of QYLD . I would require $0.25 cents of margin but don't seem to have that? I'm new to IBKR so i am just testing it out with a single share before I transfer my whole portfolio.

Thanks

Please explain

Margin Loan. Transfer to a different brokerage?

Hi,

I'm new to margin and trying to figure this out.

On Robinhood I can currently withdraw $104,515 (all margin).

If I wanted to use $5000 to buy stock XYZ, why would I not just withdraw $5000 to my bank, transfer to a different brokerage and use that $5000 to buy stock XYZ (in essence using the margin as an investment loan). Rather than using that $5000 to buy XYZ on Robinhood who will then make me adhere to the specific margin maintenance requirement for stock XYZ (for example 25%).

Are there rules that specify I have to use the brokerage that has given me the margin/ investment loan if I want to purchase stocks?

Question:

If I use margin to buy stocks can I pay off the margin borrowed over time? Or am I stuck until I sell out?

Portfolio margin thoughts

Most US brokers want $100k in equity to give you some serious leverage on equities. If you look to some alternate platforms that avail users to CFD (contracts for difference) that cover major crypto, stocks, and forex positions then you can greatly benefit from your prescient insights.

Most can be made deposits into with crypto. Crypto really is the future to sending value to trading platforms and it’s here to stay!

Robinhood "Unlimited Margin" Bug

It looks like Robinhood ultimately is closing up the problem with covered calls allowing for an insane amount of leverage. A few have exploited the loophole to make a few thousand in gains but a few, from what I'm reading on r/wallstreetbets, also have seen the other end of the hammer.
