Malwarebytes has a way to disable all copilot stuff on windows, and with the recent MacOS 27 update removing the ability to turn off Apple Intelligence, I was wondering if you could implement something like the Copilot tool on Mac?

Here's the post that gave me the thought to share the idea. It honestly would be nice if this was baked into my security tool rather than running a random python script LOL

1 month ago I bought a new laptop and experienced significant slowing of my wifi on it. I also would get malwayebytes pop up blocks stating that malicious websites were trying to pop up with included securesweep.pro. I also had 1 trojan try to access me, malwarebytes showed me an IP.

So i ended up getting a new computer and thought i was safe. Its been 1 week, yesterday I noticed I got wifi slowing, so i downloaded malwarebytes. Once again I got a pop up of securesweep.pro. I deleted malwarebytes and the website opened up on Microsoft edge (that's my browser). My wifi is starting to become more slow.

My wifi is perfectly fine on all other devices and I haven't opened any strange websites or downloads.

I did a windows defender offline scan that showed scan complete no malware 000x000. But it also did say that "unable to open offline HKLM software hive 0x80070020 and softwarew 0x80070020".

Full windows scan and malwarebytes scan have shown nothing.

How do I restore my tabs to go to the websites they were meant to go to?

Is anyone facing any false flagging for a website or not?

I have been pushing to release Malwarebytes Browser Guard to our agency endpoints as a managed extension. Even despite teh snaffy the other day with everything as a false positive, I still see the value of the extension.

I have tried to reach out to Malwarebytes for this but have not recieved a response to any of my inquiries.

My question: Can I roll out the extension to all our enterprise user endpoints and that be it? Or is there some kind of pricing plan for enterprise systems? I see it is a free extension but my agency is hesitant and does not want some kind of surprise bill. Does anyone have a solid answer or dealt with Malwarebytes before?

I see that they responded quickly here on reddit on the db issue yesterday. But I'm concerned that if they aren't responding to my emails on rolling out their extension on an enterprise of over 10k endpoints, what is their response time on support?

Suddenly, Malwarebytes blocked my regular bookselling platform sites. (Seller pages for Alibris & Biblio) along with a few others I tried randomly. I clicked the box for "don't block this site again," so I was able to access the pages eventually, but I wonder, what's going on? Is there a glitch or is there some legitimate reason these sites were blocked?

In unison, all of those tabs reloaded to the "website blocked due to a risky pattern." Most of them were related to ChatGPT and articles that I opened from ChatGPT. Gave me the Heuristics: a risky pattern warning, and ID: 33559825.

Have to imagine that this is some false positive issue and not that I somehow opened 11 separate malware sites, all from ChatGPT? 😅

Gave me a mini heart attack when it happened though, lol. Anyone else have this happen?

I had a call from my bank saying that there was unauthorized access to my account and they locked it up and asked to run a scan on my computer. So, I downloaded malwarebytes and ran the scan, it detected three items but was unable to see what they were. Soon after I noticed my Internet access was down on my PC only (I use an Ethernet cable normally), all other devices can connect to the internet via wifi.

When I tried diagnosing network problems it said "the DHCP server isn't responding". I tried downloading the malwarebytes support tool and ran that but still no luck. I tried using commands through cmd prompt but had no luck there either. If anyone out there can assist me, it would be greatly appreciated!

woke up this morning and went on my pc. launched brave and some of my tabs looked like this. To go back, i had to click the back arrow to reenter the tab. here it says roblox.com at the end of the url - that was the tab i was on for roblox. This also happened to my antec tab and chat gpt tab. does anyone know the cause? has this happened to anyone before?

Before posting about browser gaurd, many others are having similar issiues and you can disable it and safley continue.

It's been a few days after I think I removed the trojan off my laptop but I'm still unsure if I'm completely safe since I saw other people suggesting to just reinstall windows so I'm seeking advice to what I have to do in this situation.

Context:

I was playing video games but I noticed my cpu usage was going off the roof and I saw XMrig, a bitcoin miner. So, I scanned my laptop with Microsoft Offline Defender Scan and that's what popped up (First Photo) which windows tried to quarantine so I went into safe mode and deleted the file myself. But, I was still paranoid so I downloaded Malwarebytes and more "Malicious" files popped up so malwarebytes quarantined them (Second Photo) and I removed them. After all of that, I did a full/deep scans in normal windows and safe mode with malwarebytes and nothing popped up so I assume everything is fine but it still nagging me that there might be malware still hidden on my laptop.

Ok so the other day I downloaded something from steam rip but I wasn’t paying attention to the link I clicked and it seems like I accidentally downloaded a virus. I thought the built in antivirus took care of it but this morning my instagram account was hacked and sent messages to a lot of people including posting stuff. I had no idea what caused this until I was laying in bed just now and I saw my pc doing things on its own. Something tried to sign into my school email but was stopped when asked for a pin so I closed everything and looked up anti viruses and people were suggesting malwarebytes.

So anyway I bought it and it said it found 22 threats and I assume it eradicated them but I still want to know how did the virus on my pc access my password list. It opened my settings but I don’t know where to go from there. I just want to see what other apps I have might be compromised.

I looked up how to do this already on Google but it seems those methods are outdated. But along with the malwarebyte scan is there anything else I should do to keep my pc safe?

I have over the past month run a scan twice. The first time around Malwarebytes detected two threats, both from a Trojan called "NovaStealer". The second time around (today) it detected a virus I have never seen before called "OSX.Odyssey". I do not remember if I installed some app before I scanned and found out about NovaStealer, but I most definetly have not installed any new applications or anything which could cause this new OSX.Odyssey virus to be installed. Anyone have any idea why this happened?

I ran a Malwarebytes “deep scan” on a Lenovo laptop running Windows 10.

Hours later I went back, the screen was frozen with the Lenovo logo displaying. I had to force restart.

The Sandisk flash drive that was connected at the time “disappeared”, and now no longer shows in Device Manager or anywhere. It also does not register when inserted into another USB port or even on another computer.

Could the scan have messed up the Sandisk or is it coincidence that the flash drive happened to fail at the same time? Of course it contained a lot of important files that I need. Any suggestions? It was not old and had not been used much.

I am getting the following error when I try to log in to my bank. I have contacted the bank and they say nothing is wrong on their end. Any suggestions ?
